My (non-seasonal) WD is my longest lived character. They’re fairly durable, and yeah, he’s the only one I do T1 on routinely at the moment.

Well I got a treasure Vault, 15 million and 3 legendaries including the gem. Great zone impressive looking.

T1 is easy, particularly with the new legendary gems. You can do it in all yellow items.
I wouldn’t do it in hardcore in that gear, certainly. But softcore, no problem.

Even without legendary gems, low level HC T1 isn’t so bad once you have some regular Imperial gems and socketed items.

My non-seasonal HC WD, which I started at around the same time as the season, has walked the halls at T1 as well. Not something I would to all the time with the current gear, but she can do it. It is just not efficient with the current gear though and can get a lot dicier than I would like.
Yea, I was actually really impressed with how great looking that zone is. It’s extremely cool looking. Also, I like that you can keep smashing the chest lid on Greed’s dead neck after you kill him. Haha.

I got my first treasure vault today as well as a second one some short time later! Couldn’t friggin believe it. I agree it’s very cool looking and I love the little touches of the treasure goblins warping in from a run (I think they’re warping in).

What the hell do you guys do that you find so many? I run bounties in a1 on occasion but after 50 or so kills out in the wild I haven’t gotten a single portal yet. Do you just run campaign or roam the map in adventure mode to get them?
I really wish it’d be possible to get these portals in rifts.

Mine was just in a T1 Bounty, came out of nowhere as well. Agree about the Chest on greed’s head. I actually ported back in for a second look around.

Bateau, I was actually feeling a bit downtrodden D3 wise because I was going broke gambling for better rolls and not getting any and because I was rarely getting the final kill on elites and boses during group rifts. It’s cheesy, yeah, but it’s nice to see “your name has killed foozle” as a good ego boost every now and then. But yesterday the RNG gods knew I was down on my luck lately but they decided to cheer me up with a nice new RRoG and two treasure rifts. Keep your head up bro. You’ll get your turn soon.

I’m totally lost on Greater Rifts. I can clear a T1 rift Ok, and I have 7 greater rift stones now which I guess is telling me I should go try it. So should I not kill anything when I first enter the greater rift as I saw someone talking about earlier? Killing 1,000 creatures in just 15 minutes seems difficult no matter what the level.
I found this on reddit - should I do it like he describes or have things changed? http://www.reddit.com/r/diablo3/comments/2et1wj/efficient_greater_rift_farming_ignore_the_rift/
If you are looking for gear, the optimal stratagy for a trial stone is to TP out as soon as the trial starts. This puts you on GR1, and you get the most rift attempts. You could game it further by stalling and taking a long time on each GR, but who has time for that and that defeats the purpose somewhat. Start at G1, and keep upgrading until you fail, each GR run, including GR1 has a chance to drop some pretty good legendaries at the end, and a GR1 run takes no time at all, I can do it in under 4 minutes.

First off, torment level has nothing whatsoever to do with GR difficulty. Are you having problems with GR1? (just so we know what we’re talking about here)
If so, you may want to skip on that for now and go farm yourself some bounties and bonus bloodshards (you can see which bounties are awarding bonus shards on the map). The bloodshards will allow you to gamble for set pieces and legendaries and you have a chance for solid legendaries from bounty caches (you really want the Ring of Royal Grandeur from the Act 1 cache).
Now if you’re capable of completing a rift you can take that guys advice if you like. It’s definitely still a viable means for beginners to find lots of loot, I just wouldn’t have the patience for it myself.

I’ve not attempted GR anything yet. I just wanted to know what to do before I start as I’m afraid of screwing up my potential for items, gold, armor, and the upgraded gems thingie.

If I completed level 2 super fast would it skip me up to like level 10? If the guardians at the end always drop a legendary I wouldn’t want to skip all those levels as I need legendary items to break down into forgotten souls really badly.
Yes it would jump you but it’s about the optimal item per hour and standing around for 10 minutes hurts that a lot

It will skip you some but like forge notes you can stand around for 10 minutes or you can go bash some monsters. I know which I’d prefer!
(if you can go complete bounties while the rift is running, though, that’d be a legit farming strategy)

Er, unless you are playing HC!
In that case just bail like a scared little rabbit the moment things start to get dicey.

Just for reference, the rough scaling of GR is as follows:

So, if you know that T1 is your limit, then don’t push past GR10 or so.
That’s where gaming the system comes in, completing the GR in the last few minutes so you only move forward one rift, instead of being bumped up several.
