Finally got an R’s Gift to socket my cow-summoning poleaxe. My monk’s paperdoll DPS now at 750K which doesn’t count skill and gem bonuses.

10/10 would play again.

I hope so! We could use some more active players.

Why don’t we just form a Qt3.1 clan?

Why are we having so much trouble getting hold of one of the mods, or is it that there is no way of knowing who has been active lately and so who to purge. The answer may be purge the lot and start again.

Yeah, I’ve advocated this upthread. Take off, nuke the clan from orbit, and reform it with people who actually play.

But we need the leaders to do this and we dont seem to be getting anywhere with the requests.

Obviously Tom has a lot on his plate atm, Mcmaster is the leader though so we need him to nuke it and let sowmone else run it for now.

Yeah, just nuke it and start again.

Can’t McMaster hand off power to another?

Have you tried PM-ing Tom or McMaster? If they’re not playing, they may not be reading this thread.

Yep, no answer

OK , Jason is going to make room and hopefully add a few officers so we can do a full recruitment round up. Maybe once it happens we need an active post for all those that want in as well.

I think myself (Meleketh in Diablo) and Blackluck are the two players in the clan online the most at the moment. I don’t know about him, but I’d be happy to go through and boot a few people who’s names I don’t remember seeing since 2.1. If I booted someone who ended up coming back, or just happens to play at completely different hours than me, the maximum inconvenience would be they would have to re-request an invite. Just a thought.

I put in an invite request a while ago; I wonder if it’s still active?

Sounds like a good thought to me. I’m Karok in the clan, but I’m totally consumed by Wasteland 2 and Endless Legend right now and not playing Diablo III, which I do in fits and starts. A couple consistently playing officers would be a very good thing.

Hey folks:

I played D3 when it first came out (auction house and all that) but haven’t really touched it since. I’ve been reading through this thread a bit but the game seems like it’s totally different now and I’m not sure I even understand half of what people are talking about. So I wanted to ask if anyone has pointers to things I should read to reacquaint myself with the game.

I have that same feeling I used to get when I’d play WoW, quit for a while and come back:“wtf is going on here?” In that case I’d usually create a new character and start from scratch.

Also, how necessary / useful / worthwhile is the expansion?

Thanks

Most of what has been talked about lately is essentially how the endgame works now. There actually is an endgame! Though it is still tied to the fundamental pursuit of better loot, what varies is method. Rather than repeat story contend endlessly, there is now Adventure Mode, Bounties, Nephalim Rifts and Greater Rifts to undertake. This is now where the game is at. In fact once you have levelled to 70, you can never touch the story content again, unless you so desire. Add to that revised loot tables and drop rates, more legendaries, legendary gems, ladder seasons and more and the game is in a much, much better state.

Best bet is to have a perusal of the following I guess:

Reaper of Souls*

Crusader*

Adventure Mode*

Bounties*

Nephalim Rifts*

Greater Rifts*

Legendary Gems*

Loot 2.0

Difficulty

And yeah, Reaper of Souls is kinda mandatory as Adventure Mode and Rifts (endgame content) is part of the expansion.

    • RoS required.

The addition of legendary items and the end game stuff has made it so much better. I was mostly the same way until the post-AH game. As far as the expansion, if you get into the game I would say you should really get it, but I think if you start a char on the base game for a while it shouldn’t take that long to see if you are enjoying the changes and if it is worth it for you.

The expansion is critical Charlatan. Don’t play wihtout it.

If you’re below 60, not playing a crusader, and haven’t completed the storyline yet, the expansion isn’t important.

I disagree, this means you’ll have to play through the “story” more than once. If you’ve defeated the campaign before, you’re better off blasting through the new act to run bounties instead.

The expansion is essential.

Finally got another HC Wiz to 70 in Seasonal play. Leveling isn’t hard once you have all the crafters leveled and lots of money/gems, but obviously the challenge comes at 70 again of gathering the gear you need to move up to T1 and beyond. Last Wiz I went with a build I found online, that was very popular, based on Arcane Orb, but this time I may stick with a Black Hole/Disintegrate build, with Teleport for getting away and Storm Armor and Enchanted Weapon as auras. So far it’s ok, but I won’t know for a bit.
