I can’t believe 32 is the best I ever got, that’s pretty sad. You’ve got me motivated to try and go higher!

I went on a massive D3 binge a few months back and managed to get level 70 characters in every class on hardcore.
Yes, my e-penis can now be seen from space (along with the great wall of china) :) :)
It’s because you’re within reach, which is why I’m gunning for ya, unlike your ridiculous DH :)
Well 32 is definitely doable. You are going to have to have some pretty insane gear to do 38 though :D

So yeah Boon of the Hoarder is pretty nuts. Over the weekend I leveled it up to rank 25 and played quite a bit. I completed my firbirds set, got a furnace drop, and can now do T6 very comfortably and greater rifts in the low 30’s. So I did some solo farming act 1 bounties looking for a better RoRG (I have like 4 of them now and they all kind of suck in different ways) and the amount of gold exploding out every where was nuts. I went from around 55 million to 390 million gold and that was with some gem and enchanting going on.
Gold farming is quick and easy. It works anywhere there are a bunch of low level mobs. I just run around casting bliz apoc in a big circle aggroing everything. As I loop around things are dead and while I’m picking up the gold other things are burning to death.

I use the frog for gold farming.

I bought both the original Diablo 3 and the expansion for PC when they were released, but ended up only playing both a few weeks before moving onto other games.
So I was surprised as hell when I became addicted this past holiday season to the PS4 version. I enjoyed the Podcast several months back with Tom and Brandon talking about how much they liked the PS4 version – http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2014/08/14/qt3-games-podcast-pc-haterz-diablo-iii-club-2/. I appreciated their point-of-view, and I was impressed with the console control scheme on the original Diablo console release when I tried it in 2013, but I couldn’t imagine playing on console over PC.
Then this holiday I received a free PS4 copy to evaluate as part of an awards committee I participate in. I dutifully installed it and launched the game, fully expecting to mechanically put the game through it’s paces because I already knew it from PC play. But then I made a key decision. I thought I would be remiss if I didn’t try out local co-op so I called my young son over to play. For me, local co-op was a revelation. The game felt so much more meaningful and fun, especially “teaching” my son and experiencing it through his eyes. Within minutes it was clear we were going to be spending a lot of time doing this together. I’m so tired of the Lego series of games and I’ve been feeling like the non-video game playing Dad turning down his requests to play together recently. It’s really nice to play something we both enjoy equally.
I’m now already Paragon 135 or so (I only reached the 40s on PC) and am clearing Torment VI on my Crusader. I gather no one else here is playing that much these days?
Since the last update 2.1.2. i started (re)playing D3 on PC again and really had a blast these days! On first launch it was more about the auction house and get more money = better gear. Now the game feels more of an adventure and what you can encounter and all kinds of drops.
Usually i play alone and sometimes with friends/family. But playing with more people is really more fun!
Was thinking about restarting it; Are we still on Season 1 or?

Season one ends on February 3rd, so it doesn’t have much longer left. I think there will be a short gap between seasons, but the second one is expected to start not too long after this one ends.
Although I enjoyed the game for what it was upon release, I am thoroughly enjoying all the changes they have added to the game since I last played. The seasons themselves are kind of fun, getting to start over from scratch and see how well I hold up to others (not very well). I am especially loving the unique gems they have added, that give special abilities or traits and you level them up. I went from being a fairly average Crusader to destroying hordes of creatures with fits of lightning. It gets pretty nuts, and I love it.
Trying monk for the new season to see how that pans out.
It’s been my most played game since Christmas. I’ve played through the story mode twice with my Monk. Now I’m working on Adventure mode. Works awesome with remote play on Vita, too. Just switched my least used ability to R2 so the back touch isn’t a problem.

Do you have to specifically join the Season play or are you automatically included when you made a new character?

You need to join it. Seasonal characters don’t share paragon points or stash with non-seasonal characters. If you’re starting D3 fresh, definitely play seasonal.

Ah crap, I definitely don’t remember doing that when I started a crusader a few days ago. I’ll have to think about possibly starting a couple new ones for the season then. Thanks!

Season 2 doesn’t start until February 3rd anyway, so it doesn’t matter very much. Once S2 starts, all the S1 characters (and paragon points and stash items) will merge with non-seasonal.

Oooh thanks, saves me from a week of work for nothing! I’ll definitely be starting up some seasonal characters on the PS4 on 2/3.

D3 has become my go-to game while I re-energize my WoW blahs. I can hop on and play for really short amounts of time and still feel like there is some amount of progression happening. Using the tail end of season1 to ‘relearn’, and am looking forward to season2 just for the heck of it.

I don’t believe the console versions get seasons. You get all the new drops with each patch baseline.

I bought the xpak last week, having not played since completing the story a few weeks after that main game’s release. Wow! It is soooo much better now. I hated the auction house and hated even more that none of my drops were useable.
In 15 minutes of play I upgraded 3 items and one was my weapon, a more than doubling my dps. It was a legenday axe. Was I super lucky to get this legenday drop or is this typically in the new loot system?
Cant wait to play again.

Even on normal difficulty you’ll get a legendary every hour of play minimum, essentially guaranteed, and that legendary will be usable by your class. It won’t necessarily be good, or an upgrade, but you’ll get one. At higher difficulties and particularly in rifts you’ll see many, many more than that.
As of Reaper of Souls, the best way to upgrade your character is to play the game, not the auction house. Huge change.
