Jeesh, did Blizz mean to make this staff so OP? It lets me take Locust Swarm off my bar altogether and put the flaming bats and still constantly casts Swarm. Awesome!

My Season 2 Barbarian got a legendary that makes Frenzy gain the effect of all its runes simultaneously. This one:

Note: I had no runes unlocked for Frenzy yet (due to my level). Talk about overpowered.

I want to play with that so bad.

Yes, those legendaries are supposed to be super powerful. The idea is you’re supposed to choose between a smorgasbord of incredibly delicious stuff, where you can only eat so much.

I got a new belt this weekend called Belt of the Trove and it calls down Bombardment of meteors every 6 seconds (like 4 of them it seems at a time) and they seem to do like 4 times my normal damage. I love it!

Yeah, just imagine if that barb weapon was also an Ancient Legendary for even more damage! My 70th lvl monk has an Ancient Legendary 2-hd sword (War-something) that has a max dmg of around 4300 I believe. I can’t see myself finding anything better than that in the near future.

Do want that Ancient!

Just not enough time in the day to grind Diablo 3 and play anything else. Need to get powerleveled to 70(200) or something I guess.

So I will be looking for friends to send or receive nemesis invasions to or from starting on PS4 now. chaplin717 is my PSN tag.

By the way, a new “platinum” currency will not be coming to NA or EU regions…yet.

Development for patch 2.2.0 has been underway for some time and we’ll be launching the PTR shortly. We’ve got great quality of life changes and new content coming in our next patch, and we’ll have even more details to share in the near future.

In the meantime, some new features may start to show up in data mined information for patch 2.2.0 that will not apply to all regions. Specifically, the following features will not apply to the Americas:

•A new currency called “Platinum”
•Timed experience boosts
•New cosmetic items including wings, non-combat pets, and character portraits
•References to stash space and character slot expansions
•A new UI interface that references the above information

We recognize that many players have expressed an interest in microtransactions being added to Diablo III. While we may explore this model in some regions, we have no immediate plans to implement such purchases or the aforementioned features anytime soon for the Americas region.

Okay, which one of you jerks expressed an interest in microtransactions being added to Diablo III? Fess up.

One does not simply express interest in microtransactions <boromir.jpg>

I don’t have a problem with Path of Exile-like character slots, stash tabs, etc. Even XP boosts…in a game like Diablo, who really cares? The ladders are hilariously compromised anyway.

I dunno, maybe I just need to pick which clouds I spend my energy yelling at these days ;)

They should add something that would really change things up for the better, like an auction built into the game that accepts real world currency!

I still occasionally check the DIII forums to see what’s up. Must have missed all the expressions of interest in micro-transactions.

That said, I have often complained about DIII’s lack of stash space and even character slots (though there is arguably no reason for more slots then there are classes, plus a few for seasons/HC), so I am open to additional stash tabs as a microtransaction - except the game is pretty damn stingy with them as is.

But this is probably aimed solely at the asian markets where they will lap this stuff up? I guess they will take a stab at micro-transaction supported F2P model there and see if it brings in more revenue.

I would be interested in additional stash tabs only because we don’t have more available now through normal means. It’s far from the optimal solution, however!

Busted.

And now for the opposing viewpoint… I like cosmetic items and various skins in Guild Wars 2, and I think I wouldn’t mind seeing them in D3. Hey, a skin that lets me get my sorcereress’ tits out, that’s worth a few bucks Blizzard’s way :)

Problem with skins in D3 is…you can’t see them. Really, unless you hit Z to zoom in, or stare at your profile page, it all sort of runs together in a tiny glowy mess.

Maybe if the micro transactions were for new super powerful loot you couldn’t get any other way? That’s be awesome right?!

Obviously nobody is going to actually sell equipment, but you need to be careful with “conveniences and time-savers” in a grinding game like Diablo. A potion that increased legendary drop rates by 100% would make your gameplay literally twice as rewarding. When the grind is the game, time-savers are mandatory.
