Was hoping for the same, barely making Paragon 200 before season ends.
What exactly is it that you are not happy with?
It is well known that the first run-through of D3 is little more than a glorified tutorial and the game does not get interesting until you play at higher difficulties.
Thankfully they patched the option to select higher difficulties from the get go to mitigate that. So, Iâd say bump up the difficulty if youâre finding yourself un-moved by the experience.
Also, Adventure Mode is where it is at - the story mode content is of barely passable standard, but you need to complete it once before unlocking Adv Mode, where you can basically just go where you want any time you please.
Also, give HC a crack if you are feeling there is no consequence to your actions.
Other than that, keen to hear what you issues are.
I feel crazy reading that. Itâs practically the exact opposite of how I feel about D3. I prefer building a character through the lower levels (now have 6 classes at level 70, but Paragon hasnât interested me yet). I found Adventure mode dull, since itâs just loot-running and Iâve no interest in something that doesnât at least have a semblance of story built in. And while I have a HC Demon Hunter, I canât stand the thought of putting time into a character that can be permanently wiped even if I only had one death (from my Wizard) in all my characters making it to level 70 and beyond.
But perhaps Iâve not given the high level, adventure mode, hc thing a fair go, and when I have some downtime from other games I may put more effort into them. I just hate the idea of spending a lot of time trying to get optimal equipment to manage high difficulty/high level battles. Iâve accepted a long while ago that I donât play Diablo the way that itâs meant to be played.

Which might make D3 very much not for you⌠D3 really is all about adventure mode and getting optimal equipment to manage high difficulty battles (or, put another way, to gain looting efficiency).

Quick question about the expansion. I picked it up a few weeks ago, and was hoping to play the new 5th act with my barbarian who I had previously finished the original game with. However there seems to be no way that I can find to start the 5th act. Am I missing something really obvious. Do you really need to go through the entire game again to access the new act?
I have started a new crusader class and am enjoying playing through again (currently in act 2) on expert, but I am looking forward to playing the new adventure mode.
Start your barb at the end of Act 4 I would think should be enough?
I thought you could just choose Act V from the menu (if it doesnât just default to it) for the characters that had finished the previous Acts. But, youâd have to start a new game if you want to up the difficulty.
D3, despite me not playing how itâs meant to be played, is a very enjoyable game. I love the building of a character from low levels to high and the switch of loot during that phase, all while following the basic story. Itâs just the slow advancement in loot after that without a story to hitch along on that makes the high-levels kind of dull. Pretty sure I got my moneyâs worth out of it, though, since Iâm also one that clears all areas even when I know thereâs nothing more than a few lowly mobs hanging around.

The problem is, once youâve leveled up a class to 70, thereâs zero incentive to do it again, since every level 70 character of a given class is identical.

Yeah, I wish they didnât restrict new legendary powers to seasonal games. I have zero interest in ever leveling up another character of the same class, much less earning paragon points again, but I would like to try out new builds with my existing characters.
Seasons should be for people competing on leaderboards, and rewarded with achievements and transmog items. Iâm cool with that. The new legendaries should be immediately available for all players.

L70 Enchantress = L70 Barb = L70 Monk?
OK
/goes back to reading something that makes sense

Thanks Equisilus and instant0. Before buying the expansion, I had started the game over at a higher difficulty on my barbarian, so I no longer have access to the Acts that I originally completed on normal. I just have access the areas that I have completed on Expert. I must have reset the campaign somehow. I even tried setting the difficulty back to normal, but that did not work either.
Still enjoying the 2nd playthrough though, but really bought the expansion for the new act and the adventure mode.

You clearly didnât read his comment. His point was that once you level up a Barbarian there is no point in doing it again since all instances of the same class are identical.
I think he meant
L70 Barbarian (Playthrough 1) =Level 70 Barbarian (Playthrough 2) = Level 70 Barbarian (Playthrough 3)
I think my math is correct above; even checked on my Texas Instrument calculator.

Isnât there an achievement for leveling up a dude and a chick of each class?
Josh, you clearly donât care enough about achievements.

There used to be an achievement (before the expansion) for each class for leveling up two characters to level 60, which I thought was pretty hilarious since they didnât give you enough character slots to do that without deleting at least one level 60 character. I think they changed that achievement somehow, but I donât remember what it is now. Of course now you do have enough slots to level up two of each class, as long as you donât want to play any characters in seasons.
Those achievements for two of a class are still in. They just added a bunch of âlevel 70â versions after the expansion.
As an aside, my last run getting my monk to level 70 was a rush to make it before PoE launched. Fortunately, they dumped a 100% xp week in there. I finished him up on the night before PoE was playable.
Or two dudes, or two chicks. Itâs 2015, Tom ;)
Yeah, I have one 70 of each type in HC, and I leveled a wizard to 70 in both seasons as well. Having a spare canât hurt. But itâs not terribly entertaining to level again for the reasons given.
New patch today.
If you like wizards, youâll love this update.
While Firebirds is still viable, itâs a yawner. Tal Rashaâs and a brand new set (name escapes me) offer many new build options.
And RIP Sunwuko Monk. :(
