hey pizzaaddict. I pm’d you a somewhat off topic question.

Yeah me too, it was close to being something special but never made it there. Still play it here and there with the Revival patch.

Just discovered that transmuting a puzzle ring in the new box = a free vault in town! As in the big gold vault that randomly appears with treasure goblins. Very cool!

So, played for about an hour and a half tonight. Very different experience from Tuesday. Scoured the entire Ruins area and found the Cube. Had a really similar elite rat king fight that was just brutally drawn out and ended with a 514 monster Massacre for a 1.76 million xp bonus. (Also got like a 55 monster Mighty Blow in the same fight.) Also encountered what I assume is a relatively new type of treasure goblin, the Blood Thief, and managed to chain hits into him until he got boxed into a corner where I murdered him. Total haul was like…200+ blood shards. And then, since I couldn’t possibly clear an act for a Horadric Cache before needing to quit for the night, I decided to dive into a Nephalem Rift, something I did very little of back when they cost resources, but since they’re free now…holy shit, Torment Rifts. It was just this endless sea of four and five affix elites and boss+minion packs. Fucking glorious. Hairy as hell, but glorious, and I’m definitely equipped for it. I didn’t even need to go down a floor to get the Rift Guardian to spawn. And when I did…I got Josh Mosqueira. I didn’t realize the devs had inserted themselves as special Guardians! Looking forward to finally trying a Greater Rift next time.

And lootwise? Scored around five or six legendaries and one set piece (Zunimassa’s Gloves), although only one set of bracers actually dropped - the other legendaries and the set piece were all gambling items (so -that’s- why you want blood shards!) or were Cube upgrades.

Revisited my L70 barb (who I have rarely played since mostly moving to HC) last night. As SC, he is usually my go to to try new patches and mechanics, but he is/was woefully under-geared (in general and compared to my HC WD). Struggles on T1 for the most part, or just clears really slowly. Master is still pretty slow going, tbh.

3 Hours last night, couple of NR’s, GR’s and bounties and the result:

Everything bar the bracers, ammy, boots and pants are new drops. Don’t think my Frenzy/Seismic Slam build was all that effective either, so switched to Rend/OverPower/Avalanche/Lightning and now cream Master and will bump back to T1/2. Also got a Treasure vault, which was nice!

Just need to do a few more bounties and strip some powers from some of my stored legs and roll some sockets on those rings!

Wait, wut? Explain to me!

If you have a puzzle ring to spare, go to the new cube spot in town (where you extract legendary powers, reforge, etc) and you’ll see a ??? recipe. The requirement will be 1x puzzle ring. You’ll lose the ring but it’ll open a vault.

I was so excited to discover that as I’m relatively gold starved and I thought I had a few puzzle rings in my stash, but no, I didn’t. Grr.

Any thoughts on a transitional build for a wizard working toward some kind of DelRasha but with only an ancient serpent sparker (new cube drop woo!), Nilfur’s Boast a Tal Rasha off-hand, one other Tal Rasha piece, and one Delsere’s piece? My old build, built around a Maxiumus, was all about maximising fire damage, but the whole point of Delrasha, it seems, is to mix up the elements and maximise meteor damage.

Oh man that’s hot. You wouldn’t happen to know if it works for everyone in a party? I swear I had an old puzzle ring stashed…

Even if it does (and I think so), you’ll end up sharing the gold, so I’m not sure there’s any benefit.

I though each person in a party rolled their own drops? Or was that changed ages and ages ago?

Each person does have their own drops.

My wife was able to come into the vault too. I wonder what other recipes are out there though. The ??? one didn’t show up until I happened to go to the cube with the ring in my inventory.

So, I popped back on my leveling L66 Crusader. When I last left off, she was a beastly machine on Master, dispatching hordes of enemies. When I logged back in for the new patch, she’s extremely durable but it seems to take forever to kill anything. The only place I’ve explored is Sichuan chicken kingdom or whatever, looking for the cube (which I found).

Is the difficulty/time in killing monsters related to the new area, or have things changed in the past couple major revisions? I probably last played around 2.1, or whatever the first major update after the expansion was.

There have been quite a few ability/item/stat changes that could have nerfed your build. There are also some changes to enemies (eg CC resistance in the latest patch) but that seems less likely.

Interesting… ??? becomes a clue to an unknown recipe. Note to self - visit cube with various legs in inventory. I would assume there are others and more will be added.

Where do the ??? appear in the cube? Just tried it with a variety of legs and then with just a puzzle ring in my inv. Did not see any additional recipe pages or anything unusual, even when placing the ring in the cube (by itself).

I’m not really sure - maybe you need to have been in the Vault before at some point?

Kinda wondering what happened to all the crap my season 2 witch doctor had in his bank. It’s not in my current bank.

You lost them forever. They’re mailed to you at the end of the season, but that mail expires after 30 days.
