Season 4 looks to go live in about 90 minutes (7pm CST/5pm PST)

EDIT - I see it’s live in EU though, according to the Battle.net client.

Got a second piece of that Zunimassa set. I went from handling Torment 1 but not quite killing fast enough to beat timers on events and rifts to absolutely melting everything in my path. Why? Because the first set bonus for Zunimassa is that the summoned Fetishes from my Fetish Army skill no longer despawn after like 15-20 seconds, but last until they die. And they’re just as ridiculously durable as the zombie dogs and gargantuan, so that doesn’t happen. Fetish Army is a big, big force multiplier by default, but since the duration is short and it’s got a lengthy cooldown, you have to be cautious about when you use it. Now it’s just on all the time. That’s the FIRST set bonus. If I can score the 4-piece bonus (2% damage reduction for witch doctor and pets both, per Fetish that’s out - so, 14% with the rune I’m using) I’ll swap in the Fetish Sycophants passive so I just have the little guys all over the place. But for right now 13 pets seems like enough.

It seems like I’m still seeing more loot from gambling and crafting and such than world drops (both set pieces were gambling, for example, and I got a staggering 13 legendary and 3 set piece recipes from one horadric cache), but I did get a couple of legendary drops as my seasonal demon hunter (in public multi, which I was pleased to find is fairly low stress, if not particularly communication-rich) and my first legendary gem (and a sword that was NOT better than Thunderfury) as my WD from the greater nephalem rift I did. Didn’t quite manage the timer, though, since I hadn’t gotten the set going yet. The guardian spawned basically right as the timer expired.

How do you get Death Breaths? I have googled this, and it mostly seems that you get them as drops from unique mobs. I have killed dozens of uniques and I have not gotten a single one. I have even done a neph rift killed a bunch of blues and gold mobs in there and still, not a single death breath.

You also have to be at least level 60 for them to show up; they’re a part of the higher tier crafting materials that was introduced in the Reaper of Souls expansion.

Yeah, once you’re 61+ and doing rifts and bounties you’ll get pretty much as many DBs as you need. Until then, though, they are a bit scarce at times.

Ok. I thought it might be a level thing. I just have some legendaries I want to get the special abilities off of. I guess Ill have to wait. In retrospect, it might have been better to start with a non-seasonal character to try this new stuff out.

Managed to get a HC seasonal Crusader to 40 today. Much, much faster than when I last tried, and I’m actually, with a touch of masochism, doing the campaign/story mode for this run through. Much better loot and on Hard difficulty a pretty robust leveling speed. So far, so good, but you never know…

I have a fetish for fetish sycophants. I’m fetishistic about my fetishism. There is no end to it.

Couple legendary drops and you can get a hardcore seasonal up wherever you like in a couple hours, no problem!

Just hit I think 42? Disintegrate remains silly.

I assumed they must’ve lowered the levelling curve. My hardcore WD has made it to level 53 since last night.

Yeah it’s much easier to level now, much. I have been getting legendaries since like single-digits, and rares galore. If you play bounties you get diabolic hoard chests for the bosses now, which adds even more loot, and in story mode there are a lot more quest-specific rewards as well.

Plus, after playing so much PoE, it feels a lot less stressful. At least, until upper Torment levels I’m sure.

I can’t wait to fiddle with the cube to see what kind of ridiculous army I’ll be able to amass with my witch doctor.

Sitting at 54 with Malthiel left to do. Someone told me, though, it’s best to go do adventure stuff until 70 then kill M, so I get the legendary he coughs up at that level. Probably do that–it’s not like I haven’t slapped him upside the head before.

Either Disintegrate is even better than it used to be (unlikely!) or they really nerfed the hell out of leveling. Playing Seasonal/Hardcore, I just thrashed Malthael at 63/Master (got him as a bounty in an A5 bonus, figured what the heck) and he barely scratched me – I was tanking him with the Magic Weapon/Deflection shield and the disintegrate beam just fine.

He didn’t drop a legendary for me (first time kill) other than the Reaper’s Wraps plans, which IIRC are guaranteed.

All act bosses guarantee a legendary when they are defeated for the very first time with a character, not just Malthael. So it’s possible to put the campaign off completely till 70 and just collect them then. Personally I don’t find it all that big of a deal now days since they drop like candy anyway, but they are guaranteed nonetheless, and they can be attained as best as possible when needed.

Yeah, I don’t care a whit one way or the other. I’m only going through the campaign this time for shits and grins anyhow.

I got a Nagelring around level 20 for my seasonal SC Wiz. Level to 63 yesterday and am still using the ring. The Fallen Lunatic damage seems to scale and the little blighters just destroy Elites and bosses, even on Master and T1.

Looks like everyone is playing hardcore. Is there leveling bonus, or some other advantage? Or is it just more interesting?

I’m tempted to pick up reaper of souls, but $40 is a little steep, and I’d really like to finish withcher 3.

No bonus. Only the joy of watching your character die and go away for ever, taking all the gear they had on them. It’s the tension thing; what is a fairly straight-forward game (at anything below mid-high Torment at least) you can play while contemplating your navel becomes a bit more involved when you have to sweat running into a jailer frozen orbiter nightmarish damage relfecting elite.
