Got it, thanks scharmers!
Yeah, I dunno. Iāve put well over 200 hours into Marvel Heroes, but I strongly suspect that unless Blizzard does another full on expansion, Iāll probably struggle to reach that point on Diablo III. I canāt have put in more than 60 or 70 to date - which is still a lot for me, for the record. I like it a lot, and trying out all the different power sets of the various character classes is rewarding, but loot just isnāt enough to hold my interest all by itself, long term. Certainly not when only legendaries and set items are at all relevant to my interests, only some of those make a significant difference to play (not sure of the ratio but itās not high), and while Iām having a lot better luck obtaining them since that post a week ago, itās still going to be a huge grind to court those relevant drops. Then again, if they keep doing big patches like thisā¦well, this one certainly got me back in for the momentā¦
Marvel Heroes (and to some extent PoE as well) do a much better job with structuring combat as decisions and choices, or tactics. Blizzard trumps both of them with making combat visceral and giving visual/audible feedback that sucks you in. IMO. Itās a different vibe with each type of game. I like all of them.
What are the benefits to being in a clan?
Just a pool of people to play with, I guess. I quit the QT3 clan, just because there werenāt enough HC players that like to MP. I joined a HC-only clan and there are tons of people to group with without having to resort to public games and a much lower chance of being PKed.
I canāt fathom the concept of playing HC with people I donāt know at least as well as being on a forum like QT3 together.
Yep. If you play HC, you pretty much have to turn off public games (letting anyone jump in). Iām in the Amazon Basin HC section, so I know if anyone does jump in theyāre good folks. Qt3 would work as well. But you canāt trust the hoi polloi for sure.
Ditto to this. And it is not like I have not been vocal at times about the stuff I didnāt like (much of which is a non-issue now). It really is in tremendous shape now and I fervently hope development continues and additional expansions are in the pipe.
About the only thing that remains to bug me is lack of stash space. Oh god, why canāt I have more stash space. Iāll gladly frigginā pay for it! Sadly, I think there must be server-side technical issues holding this back. It just makes no sense otherwise.
Extract Legendary is your stash space ;)
Yeah, I like that. Kind of fits with my desire from way back when for an āarmor rackā style system where you can store builds/gear sets. Like the new collections screen - hopefully that evolves to an area you can store such things and take load of working stash.

I have destroyed so many good Legendary (effects) over the years all in the name of space. It kills me to know I must farm them anew.
Got SisterSmack (Crusader) to 70 and a few paragons yesterday (HC seasonal). Now to work on a DH. Of course, when the season ends, I have no idea what to do with these duplicate 70s but I guess Iāll keep the one with the best name or something. I just enjoy working them up from scratch I guess, and there are a few new things each season to get for the uber-stash that continues on through time.
Crusader kills a lot slower than a Wizard, thatās for sure. But super tanky, so the play style for me is weird. I usually play one of my wizzies or a WD, neither of which get in there and mix it up. The Crusader just stands there, pops various defensive thingies, and smites everything while occasionally calling down something or other from the heavens. Takes a while, but things eventually die. Doing bounties, though, is slow sometimes.
And man, the new bounties, while a welcome change, are sometimes interminable. Finding souls to free in the Act V graveyard, when you took a wrong turn and theyāre all in the other corner of the map, ugh.

I have one problem with the Wizard in this game, and itās a problem Iāve had since it very first came out: I can find no reason to use another RMB-style attack skill than Disintegrate. It just seems to outperform everything out there. Arcane Orb, Ray of Frost, and that volley skill are pretty cool, but then I switch back to Disintegrate and just mow through everything that was giving me issues trying to utilize the other skills.
Does anyone else share that feeling, or am I just super weird (probably the latter, but I thought Iād ask)?

Yeah, I wish that guide arrow showing you where your objective is was always on.
No, I had the same problem. Disintegrate makes me super happy, and I always feel bad about not branching out.

As with most things in Diablo 3, the reason is you get some drop that makes another skill essential. Or alternatively you find another playstyle more fun - I recently switched my wizard from a disintegrate build to a teleport/calamity build and itās pretty exciting jumping all over the shop rather than standing still and zapping things. I canāt say for certain itās more efficient (though once I get a few more pieces of a set it definitely will be), but itās perfectly viable even without perfect gear.
I run Disintegrate on the LMB and Black Hole on the RMB. At the endgame, from what I can read most builds donāt even bother with a resource builder, but rely on gear and paragon levels to generate enough resources. Admittedly, my wizard has to pace herself to keep the DPS up, as the arcane power drops pretty fast, but I have found the build pretty viable.
But, yeah, I keep coming back to Disintegrate. Itās so damn fun, and effective. Ray of Frost is not bad either but the big D is king. Unless you get gear that pretty much makes you switch I guess. I run Firebirdās and have Disintegrate as Fire damage.

I guess it would be accurate to say āyou love the Dā?
