Not dumb at all, I can see where the confusion would stem from. If you wouldn’t mind, ping back when you try it this evening, I’d like to know the answer and loading up story mode myself makes me fear for my soul. :)
And you don’t always get that, unless maybe it’s a first time through thing. I’ve killed Leoric in story mode several times and gotten nada.

That’s a level restriction, not a campaign progress restriction. I think Master unlocks at 60, Torment at 70. Something like that. And I think that’s unlocked accountwide based on one character reaching those milestones.
You have to play through the campaign once to unlock adventure mode, correct?
According to Reddit, it’s a guaranteed drop a character’s first time through at level 20 or higher. FWIW, it dropped for my barb at 21 the other day.
Ah, that makes sense, but is disappointing. At the rate legendaries drop now, it’s not hard to get geared above Expert before 60. My girlfriend and I were pretty bored with the difficulty from around 45-60 when we were playing. Definitely felt like a grind getting through the last act or two
Ah, ok. I was told level 16 and it didn’t drop. But man, you really, really have to delay killing the king to do it in story mode at 20. Unless they mean you can get to just before the king, adventure to 20, then do it? I guess now it’s worth it for the cube, but geez.
So I have all this awesome +lightning gear, but Disintegrate is still so much better than everything else. I guess I’ll try Arcane Torrent with the lightning rune?
Seriously the RNG loves me so much this week though. Just got my seasonal HC RoRG doing an off-bonus bounty set because I needed the crafting mats, of all things.

Going to fire up a HC character on PS4 after seeing a bit of resurgence on HC talk again. Wish we had seasons!

Is that a console-only thing? I’m playing on Torment I at L30-something and went from Normal->Master after my first couple rares.
Maybe it unlocks at a level for the first character on the account, and thereafter it’s available for all? That seems to be their MO.
That’s what I said in the post Kevin was quoting, and my understanding of how it works. I am assuming that the console version is identical to the PC version except for the ways it’s specifically not (i.e. no seasons, game pad support, offline play, etc), but I don’t play on console so anywhere it differs, I have no way of knowing first hand.

Ahh, that makes sense. I played the game originally a bit when it first came out and likely got to L60 then, I just forgot about it. I didn’t really put much time into it until the expansion came out, though, which is when I made new characters and was always able to change the difficulty on the fly.
Yeah, all the seasons and stuff sort of meld together after a while.

Does anyone play this game using a trackpad on a laptop? Windows or Mac.
Seems like a bad idea considering all the right-clicking that’s necessary + lots of click-drag, but I’m wondering if anyone has any good experiences doing so. Or if you just always play with a mouse.
That sounds like the worst thing you could possibly do.

I tried it on my SP3 and it’s passable with small groups of low level enemies but once you have a screen full of baddies dropping laser disco balls then it becomes an exercise in frustration. D3 on desktop pretty much requires a mouse

I love it. Your wife is going for yoga/meditation while you get to stay home and slaughter hordes of monsters :). For some reason I believe the Diablo III would be better for me for relaxation, hehe.
I also hope to start up a new season character this weekend. I will either try a Barbarian again (last played one about the same time you did) or take Tom’s advice and roll a witch hunter… ah crap, I mean witch doctor? ugh! for the first time.

Yeah, it works great on my Surface Pro 3 using a mouse, just curious if anyone found a workable way to get it to work with a trackpad :-)
Haaaaaahahahaha. I just ran into one of those groups of 8 or so treasure goblins…right after hitting a conduit pylon.
That was a lotta loot. Hahahahahahaha.
