I’m one that has all classes to level 70 on the PC but bought the PS4 UE version to have a game to play on the console that I knew I liked. I love it, so much so that I even started doing Adventure mode (which I had no interest in on the PC). Perhaps it’s the timing, or perhaps they made enough changes to the game to make it that much more enjoyable, but I never expected that I’d spend hours in a stretch these days playing any game let alone D3.
But I still am not caring about the social aspect, playing with others, or anything related to an online experience. I do it all solo and will continue to do so whether PC or console. For me, online continues to be totally unnecessary.
Yeah, that’s pretty much true for many, probably most players. I don’t care much about the multiplayer bit most of the time. But a lot of people spend all their time in duos or four person groups, so YMMV I suppose.
Split farming only occurred to me in the last week or so!
The other thing is, if your goal is farming mats and are taking more than 15-20 minutes or so to complete one set of bounties, you are playing at too high a difficulty, or wasting time killing mobs unnecessarily instead of getting to the bounty. Don’t get me wrong, killing mobs is fun! But slaughtering whole screens of mobs on a lower difficulty and/or racing to the bounty to get the job done quickly is just as satisfying and a whole lot more efficient to boot - more mats and drops for the time investment. Your toon progression will thank you.
Once your at 70, you do need to balance this with getting to and raising Torment levels to add certain set and leg drops to the RNG and accelerate drop rates respectively.
Think I completed all act bounties in about 45 minutes last night split farming with three mates, including hunting down Keywardens.
Incidentally, we know the Puzzle Ring alone in the Cube = portal to Vault. Last night I was informed that Bovine Bardiche alone in the cube = portal to non-existent Cow level.
I play a lot in duo, but recently in triples - once I found out a guy at work plays (and rather hardcore). The guy at work also has a couple of online friends he met through pub games. Both are soloing T9/10 atm and seem like quite nice peeps. Friendly, don’t mind carrying, share drops for the benefit of the group, etc.
So while I generally don’t do a lot of online multi-player gaming, D3 really works for me.
Oh yeah - and 4 person R and GR can be something spectacular to behold. Epic levels of crap going off everywhere!
The kitten fetish that’s new this season is ridiculous and adorable. That is all.

This is a good thing, because players aren’t incentivized to play for very long periods of time.
Also, if you join a multiplayer bounty-clear game, they do go pretty quick. Try to get to torment7 as quickly as possible.
I have a few times. They didn’t seem noticeably faster.

What happens at Torment 7?
Huh, really? They’re strikingly faster in a group.
I’m reasonably sure you have to do all 5 to get the cache. Is that incorrect?

You get a chance for 2 Death’s Breaths to drop from each elite mob pack.
Ike: You need to do all the bounties in a given act, yes. He was talking about doing all 5 acts in the same game. That isn’t separately rewarded.
Maybe if you split up the way people were talking about earlier. The times I tried people got kicked for not joining the group and since the monsters get buffed based on group size it was pretty much the same as going on my own, maybe a little faster finding objectives but with way more pressure to stay focused.
That is correct. The others are referring to doing all 5 bounties for each act (25 total bounties). Open the map and right-click to see all acts in adventure mode.
Edit: Stusser beat me to it, but leaving this post for clarity.

It is awesome! I love the way it squirms around.

Many loot drops have a chance to be doubled. Here’s a chart summarizing the differences:
T8 is my current sweet spot for farming. Lootsplosions :)
This is a thing?!
I didn’t need to have another fairy-tale to chase (like epic potions, never even seen one).
Shit.
Geez. I have never gone above T2. My DPS doesn’t cut it, so I guess I’m stuck farming gear still.
Yeah, it’s all well and good to say, “you should get to T7” but literally the only influence you have on that is how many hours of Diablo you play, and that only in the sense that it means more rolls on the drop table.

Ran my first GRift tonight, and got the kitty. My first pull at Kadala gave me a Helltooth Mask, and my fourth pull gave me Zunimassa gloves. Got a legendary potion in there somewhere too. The RNG was turned up to 11 tonight.
