Just got 6pc Marauder on my DH. This is possibly more hilarious than 6pc TR on the Wizard, if only for the fact that it is literally a one-button spec. Bwahahahaha.

I’ve been struggling with my Witch Doctors (struggling in the relative sense.) My wizard, with equipment from last season, makes running through T10 feel easy. The witch doctors on the other hand either are so tanky they don’t die but things take a while to kill, or I increase their DPS but die to random mortar shells. Trying to find that balance has been tricky. I’ve been stubborn too by trying essentially to force a pet doctor spec into a DPS one - and I can say that doesn’t work. I caved and made a spec (gear and skills) very close to the ones listed at Diablo III fans- and yes, it’s more effective. But so frenetic as to be for me entirely not fun.

OTOH my generator monk is effective (maybe not to the extent an EP monk is) but god I hate some rift compositions so, so much. The tiny mobs running around or the knockback interrupt ones. Without the mantra that slows everything to 80% it feels like torture.

Have you tried leveling a Bane of the Trapped? It’s an outstanding gem, and it procs itself.

Can confirm.

Here’s my 7-sided Uliana monk build. Cooldown is a little over 47%, plus Gungdo, Fist of Az’Turrasq, and Flow of Eternity let me spam it every few seconds for good dps. Need pants that add dmg % to primary attack, will cube slot RoRG back. Gonna keep rerolling that staff until I get an ancient version of it, burned up all my bounty resources getting it from a 3100 dps drop with 46% time reduction for 7-sided to what it is now.

Yes, virtually all my characters use it. :)
There’s a very noticeable difference at 80% speed reduction though. Mobs can’t run away.

That’s an interesting build. I see you’re not using Focus/Restraint - is that by choice or necessity?

Looks like a non-season character, so he doesn’t have access to all the items needed for a proper Uliana’s build. I’m not sure about the rings though.

My monk is my least played toon and she hasn’t laid hands on a good pair yet.

What is a proper Uliana’s build though? One with the Lion’s claw fist weapon?

So let’s talk about the DH.

Six-piece Unhallowed, plus the Multishot bow and the Multishot quiver, is basically the dumbest thing ever. You burn through Hatred, it’s true – I have Reaper’s Wraps equipped, the Hatred-on-health-globe passive, and the Vengeance rune that gives me Hatred all running and I still have to watch it.

Boy, do you just slaughter all the enemies forever though. Multishot clears out entire screens at a time, and shoots homing rockets that blow up whatever’s left. By far the best AOE damage I’ve ever seen in any action/RPG, and the single-target does just fine between the rockets, Vengeance, and the Single Out passive (25% crit chance vs monsters more than 20 yards away from other monsters). This clears way faster than my TR6 wizard, and it’s not particularly close. Safer, too, probably - Vault is basically unlimited as it costs 4 of my 64 discipline.

Other thing that made a huge difference: Switching to the Enchantress from the Templar. I have the unique Focus (50% reduced cooldown for all her skills), but her other equipment is only okay (the 2H sword with a big blind chance, Nagelring [meh], the amulet of charming things all the time, and the ring with decent fear chance on it), but she is an unbelievable CC machine. Her AOE chicken is on a 9-second cooldown with the unique focus. Hilarious.

More things!

The weird part about relying on health globes for regen is that there’s a hard inflection point for when you’re killing fast enough. Like, I can clear T6 without a care in the world and basically never run out of hate. T7, not that much objectively harder, is a grind, especially if I get the worst rift ever like I just did (blood marsh, tons of the stupid hellhide tremors. Yuck).

Wildegizzard gem lvl 25 was a huge turning point for my kill speed. I rely (too much!) on Pride’s Fall to keep hatin’, and the 100k or so shield keeps little incidental damage like trash archers from knocking the buff off. And, coincidentally, the Krelm’s Buff Belt extra movespeed, which I also adore.

If I could just find a Restraint, I’d be able to go to town. Really just missing that and Cindercoat to kick the build into high gear.

If only Uliana’s set included a belt, I would be happy. :(

When you say multishot bow / quiver, do you mean items which specifically enhance the multishot ability? Can you link me to your build? Curious to see it.

Separately, I recently got two Maurader’s items: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/LMN8R-1553/hero/67011898

When it says ā€œcompanion calls all companions to your sideā€ that sounds…incredible?? Does it really summon everything including all of their abilities with no compromise? Raven + Bat + Spider + Boar + Ferret + Wolf?

It seems like you only get the single active, but my demon hunter looks like she’s in a Disbey movie

Why? The 3-3.5 damage reduction for each hit of your SSS is better than anything else you can come up with :P.

Pretty much this build.

Adam B - if you haven’t already, make sure you slot Cindercoat into the cube armor slot - then your hatred issues will fade away (mostly).

This build slaughters T8 and my best is a GR50 in about 11 minutes. Still a bit of work to do - missing a couple of ancient pieces and the current belt is a placeholder after realising Hunter’s Wrath is a poor choice.

I laid hands on a mediocre set of rings for my monk, helps a bit. But getting 7-sided’s cooldown to around 3 seconds is huge. Ran a lvl 60 GR last night with a good pickup group and only died once.

I’m running a hardcore shield bash crusader and finally got my third piece of roland’s set and wow did my damage go up like mad. I’m already tough as nails, and now rather than slowly scratching T1 elites, I two shot T3 elites. Good times.

I should point out a couple of things as well. I was running Hunter’s Wrath for the belt, which gives a large bonus to Primary skill attack speed and damage. The damage bonus is not that handy as it only applies to the builder (not MS), but the attack speed can help with resource building. But I have come to the conclusion any number of other belts are probably better. The Saffron Wrap is not actually a bad alternative, given the resource cost and cc effect reductions, but I will probably farm for a Witching Hour for the additional crit damage.

I also only run the Nems bracers when farming and survivability is less of an issue. Otherwise it is Wraps of Clarity when running higher GR’s, where Blood Vengeance passive is also swapped out for Awareness.

It’s a fun and pretty easy to play build. The Natalya set scales a little further with the right gear affixes, but is a lot more involved to play. And DH’s still suffer from glass cannon syndrome when running solo. Grifting is much easier when grouped with a decent WD or Monk tank.

Did my first greater rift yesterday, on the lvl just below Torment. Well… Lets just say it will take me quite a while longer to even get close to beating the timer… :-)

Did manage to finish the rift in the end, but I was wondering: if I drop out of the rift early, before beating the riftguardian, do I get any reward at all? Or do you only get something when completing the rift (and more when doing it within the timer)?
