Wow, that’s a thing. Sadly I’m all set up for Multishot on my DH (got the bow and quiver that boost it)…not sure if I could retool very effectively back to Marauder. Might be fun if I weren’t busy pretty much all day/night and S5 starting tomorrow, heh.

Multishot build with that 6 slot set and the bow/quiver is better anyway.
If you do go Marauders, be sure to get the new Manticore. It boosts the hell out of Cluster Arrow.
Don’t get me wrong, the Multishot/rocket build is absolutely hilarious.

I’m enjoying it. 100% uptime on Vengeance, 50% damage mitigation, spamming multishot covering entire screens, rockets going off everywhere, FPS dropping. Got me from T6 on my old M6 cluster arrow guy to T10 immediately.
I might be able to do T10…I was pretty conservative with it (think I capped out at like T7?) since my S4 DH is/was hardcore.
I played my main (Wizard) for the first time in months and months (so much seasonal play instead) and found T1 to be just as much cakewalk as you’d expect, one-shotting regular enemies with my “free” spell/ability, and not taking actual damage from boss fights (literally my health bar wasn’t moving). I better up it to T3 or 4 and go from there, try and find that sweet spot. Then again, tomorrow the season starts and Dragon’s Dogma is unlocking, so my main will probably once again be neglected. :)

Is there a term for power creep, except not creep but shooting upwards with a rocket? Because that’s how I feel after playing some 2.4. The new Demon Hunter belt (Zoey’s Secret) sent my toughness from 20m to 83m with the Marauder’s set, with no appreciable loss in damage. And here I was wanting to play Crusader next season to try something tankier.

I’m using that belt in my UE multishot build too, with the 3-wolf cloak cubed. Prefer the 27% damage reduction always up to the 50% only during vengeance, since I’m not religious about 100% uptime on vengeance.
How are you running UE MS without Cindercoat cubed? Your killing power is drastically reduced without the reduction in fire skill resouces usage… Or are you not running a MS fire build?

I am running MS fire. Yang’s recurve gives 50% base cost reduction and I have very high uptime on Vengeance for 10 hatred/second with cooldown reduction on gear and Dawn cubed as my weapon.
The other option for armor cube is Visage of Gunes, which adds a whopping 50% damage reduction on Vengeance. It’s clearly better if you have 37% cooldown reduction on gear and can really hit 100% vengeance uptime. I don’t.

Interestingly, MS cold is in many ways superior, as the chill is applied before your first attack hits, and you get the benefit of the CC damage legendary gem and cull the weak there, and no longer need the thrill of the hunt talent to add a chill to your attacks. But I don’t have the gear for it yet. And I’m critting for over 2 billion with vengeance up, so damage isn’t a huge problem. That might be the way to go if I get into competitive greater rifting, which… I won’t.
So a new monk set bonus gives me all the Mystic Allies…
And then some boots give me 2 mystic allies
Combine then:: 8 Mystic allies that kill everything while I run around trying to stay alive
Good stuff :)
I’m so glad the designers took the gloves off and just started giving us crazy goofy shit like that to play with. That’s awesome.
I presume you pair the Yang’s with the Deadman’s Legacy quiver. Are you also running the Focus/Restraint combo?
I dropped Vengeance and just run pure fire MS with stacked CHC/CHD and fire damage. Replaced Vengeance with Caltrops/Bait the Trap for CHC. Iceblink gets me chill/slow and additional CHC when paired with the primary Evasive Fire/Focus for cold the damage. The primary is always in rotation to proc the chill, CHC and of course the Focus/Restraint ring combo. End up with a 70/450 CHC/CHD ratio. Cull the Weak and Ambush are both in the passives. Calamity, Cindercoat and Convention of Elements cubed.
I hit GR50 solo with that build and GR60 4-man groups before I petered out of the season.
At some point I did not think Vengeance stacked up and survivability was becoming an issue for me. DH still remains a fairly squishy class and when running high 4 man GR’s I could DPS fine, but badly needed protection from stragglers if the group was rushing. Dropping Vengeance allowed me to not have to worry about CDR on gear at all, freeing up for primary re-rolls for CHC/CHD/%Fire or toughness where applicable. And no need for a diamond in the helm! Wraps of Clarity and String of Ears also both helped immensely for survivability. Though the String of Ears I interchange with Witching Hour for even more CHD.
I never considered building for 100% Vengeance though.

Yes to both questions. That’s the DH meta this patch, basically. I’m not quite up to 100% vengeance yet but it is clearly the way to go. Remember Vengeance is a separate 40% damage multiplier in patch 2.4-- that’s huge!
For survivability, there’s also the Wraps of Clarity, which reduce damage by 35% after using a generator. DH with vengeance up (50% dmg reduction) and the wraps buff (35%) is pretty darn tanky.

I want this! How do I do this if I roll a Monk for the season. Its merely a function of having that set and the other boots?
Yea, Set + Boots.
Let me see if I can grab a link for it.
Heh, I remember now how I got annoyed with S4 - I was missing the Cindercoat and sick of looking for it. Running ghetto resource gen with cubed Pride’s Fall and Solanium (4% chance to drop globe on crit) and the passive that gives hatred for globes, and it works fine so long as my killspeed stays up. Really weird how I end up with this dramatic inflection point where I’m not killing fast enough to get enough globes to keep hatred up.
Whatever I have giving me the damage shield plus Pride’s Fall plus the Krelm’s Buff Belt makes the DH truly absurd when he hasn’t taken any damage. Good times.
MS/rockets is still hilarious, though. I love the constant speed boosts in 2.4 for trashing objects.
Note to self: totally steal that
