It’s always been that way for me since it doesn’t properly support High-DPI devices, unlike Steam.

What’s weird is that the Battle.net installer looks fine, but not the app itself.

One thing to keep in mind about sets and as you’ll see when you review the builds Hanacker links, they provide a power foundation, but truly come into their own when built upon by legendaries with complementary powers, both in non-set slots and the cube. Sometimes the synergies seem obvious, but a lot of the time they don’t (eg Belt of the Trove on the Crusader Invoker build not for DPS, but to permanently proc the 4 piece 50% damage reduction set bonus).

There is a fair bit of theory-crafting involved these days, so don’t be afraid to seek out a guide or build. You will still have plenty of fun chasing the gear you need and there is always a nice sense of elation when a bit you have been waiting for finally drops.

You should aim to be farming T7 as soon as possible, as it is a nice sweet spot of drop rates. But find a balance between difficulty and speed.

Incidentally, do you have a link to your profile?

Yay RNG. First rift today, Doombringer. First cube attempt (rare->legendary), Traveler’s Pledge. Next rift, Compass Rose. Was hoping the next rift would drop an Akarat’s Awakening and complete the Crusader set, but can’t have it all. Just need that and the legendary gems. What a crazy build - thorns is a blast to play.

I am running a version of throne Involker build. Just ran a T6 and didn’t swing, cast anything or drink any potions. Just moved and let mobs hit me. Had no problems. Can run T9 but a little too squishy for 10

I just tried a Thornsader build earlier, but it’s not nearly as fun as my Capt America build. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Mjolnir-1981/hero/44438056

Just need to get an ancient version of that shield and one for aquila cuirass.

After doing some level 70 farming with my wizard in T5 or so, I rolled a new season which doctor. They really are my first love… it is amazingly fun to level a second character, once you have some abilities cubed and have lots of gems to stick into sockets. It never ceases being fun to demolish mobs and just run through instances and riffs as fast as you can.

So after playing him on Thursday night and Saturday I hit 70, and found out only the first toon you get to 70 gets their free class set. No matter, my WD was so strong when he hit 70 that he just started plowing stuff. After a while I switched to a Helltooth pet build and it is amazing how fast you kill stuff. He’s already ahead of my wizard as far as content. And that’s without having about half of the pieces he needs.

And that reminds me, I cannot tell you how much I hate Kadala.

Talk about a newb. I only today learned how to change the difficulty on a grift. I, um, had always wondered why I was stuck at 12 when I was breezing through T4. My wife pointed out the drop down box to change the grift level. Oy.

I’m running thorns, but am pretty squishy. The only reason I live any length of time at all is because my hellfire has “the indestructable passive” which is basically a get of jail free card.

I’d like to link to my character so others can tell me what to look for, but for the life of me I can’t figure it out & google isn’t any help. How do I do this?

Log into thew D3 website on a browser and click on the ‘view profile’ link in the top right.

That will take you view your toons, which you can then link here.

Biggest survivability items for the crusader are probably the Aquila Cuirass and the Justice Lantern. Belt of the Trove is also a must have as it keeps the Invoker 4 peice damage reduction bonus permanently proc’d. Blood Brother helps as well. You can also slot the Moratorium gem to smooth incoming damage and ease offsetting it against life on hit, which you should be stacking where you can.

Ok, let’s see if this works…

Hereis my crusader

Thanks. I’ll have to look out for those pieces and try rolling them with blood shards.

To be fair, the UI for that is not intuitive at all. I knew there was a setting to change the difficulty somewhere but it took me a while to find it.

Maybe stupid / unanswerable question: I have a season 5 WD, currently running this: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Dannimal-1576/hero/71440053 I can run T4 safely (but not at high speed), and should be able to clear a GR20 (just need to run a 19 first).

I have 3 more pieces of the Harvester set (but no RRoG), I think Head/Shoulder/Boots. Would/Should I swap 2 (or 3) of those in and change builds to one that adds in Soul Harvest at this point? Or would I just wait for the 6th piece or RRoG?

Got anything else to put in Kanai’s cube?

Tman - check out the guide on icy-veins.com for a Crusader Thorns build. You’re equipment isn’t too bad, though your thorns damage is a bit low still. It is your skills and passives that are a bit out of whack though - you have the 2h skill, but have a 1h sword. And you don’t have the thorns passive, which is critical.

I’ve been experimenting a lot. I can’t equip my other stuff while at work, but I regularly do a 2H, but damn that sever procs pretty consistently and takes down everything pretty quick.

Thanks for the link, I’ll take a look tonight.

It’s my understanding Sever doesn’t actually do anything except make the killing blow pop up big numbers. Either way the monster is dead, so it’s just for show?

For a very brief windows it was the best weapon in game. I forget why exactly, though I think it was when area damage first came out and proc’d off those killing blows.

I would swap in Head & Shoulders now and give it a shot. When you get a RRoG, swap in the boots.

Here are some upgrade ideas:

  1. Run Act I bounties to try and get a RRoG.
  2. Swap out the Boon of the Hoarder for a gem that adds damage - maybe bane of the powerful, bane of the trapped, enforcer.
  3. I would upgrade the chest… look for something that has 3 gem slots. A good yellow would probably be better than that chest.
  4. I would think about putting a life gem in the helm. I had a cooldown gem in my helm and removing it made almost no difference (you should look at the numbers with the gem in and out and see how much a diff it makes).
  5. Cube a weapon and a ring… surely you have a weapon and a ring that you can stick in there. Even if they’re bad, they’d be better than nothing.
  6. Every 25 Death’s Breaths create a Level 70 weapon and upgrade it Legendary. Keep doing this until you get an Ancient one.
  7. Craft a Hellfire Amulet. It will be much better than what you have, will have a socket (that’s guaranteed, right?) and if you luck out you can get an additional nice passive. So you can add a second Legendary Gem.

If you are interested we could run some rifts or grifts with my WD, I can do T8 and level 40 ish comfortably solo.

Sever is mostly cosmetic, yes. I believe it always gibs the monsters, so it prevents resurrection and death effects, but…meh.
