I think it’s safe to assume you have to complete gr70 in the time limit, though I do see what you’re saying.
I was playing on the easy setting on the PS4 with my crusader. It’s a little nuts. Every now and then my health drops a little.
D3 is like that, yeah. You go from “my health bubble never moves” to “holy shit I’m dead already?”
I am enjoying D3 better on the console. I think the only draw to the PC is the clans and easier multiplayer. I do wish they would put some sort of controller support on the PC/Mac.
It does seem like it would be fun on a console. For a lot of reasons, we don’t have a console, so I’ve only played it on PC.
The only part about the console port that scares me a little is that reportedly the same screen multiplayer has it so that whoever picks up loot first gets it. I remember that model causing quite a bit of friction among friends back in Diablo 2 sometimes.
Still, it would be worth it for the sake of trying same screen multiplayer, which I hear is handled quite well.
Now I just need to find someone willing to play games. Hmmm, maybe when my brother comes to visit from Oregon later this month.
Btw, anyone had framerate issues since Necro dropped? I should probably see if there’s a driver update, but it feels much more choppy than I recall.
Yeah, for me it is the movement and just too much clicking on my Mac. Even if I could use the WASD keys it would help. The force move keybind doesn’t help that much,
I am slowly but steadily inching my way forward on my goal of trying to get to GR70 in order to unlock Primal drops. Unfortunately, GR68 has been a real bottleneck in that I can’t reliably finish it on time. Even when I do finish it, it’s because I lucked out and got a map full of high density trash mobs, elites without ice nova/arcane/invulnerability, and a Rift Guardian who’s a pushover–like that The Butcher knockoff or something.
And the same goes for GR 69. I finally managed to complete it once, and unlock GR70 in the process (which I now have to beat), but I’ve only finished it on time in one out of five attempts. I guess that’s okay, because I’m not looking for consistency here, I just want to unlock primals at 70; and even if I can only clear 70 10% of the time, that’s all it will take for me to unlock what I want and return to playing the character I want.

GR70 completed by the skin of my teeth!
And for the record, screw Blighter.

None of my legendariers that run were primal, but I certainly look forward to finding some. Time to go back playing in relax mode.
I was going to suggest equipping the effect that spawns extra mobs from shrines (can’t recall the name…on bracers I think?). That can really help. But you didn’t need it, congrats!
Nemesis Bracers. It depends - usually bracers are a key suvivability slot and most builds will run something there for mitigation. If you can handle the damage coming your way, you should always wear them though, pretty much, the elite spawns drastically improve R/GR clear speed.
Sookie?
Need more crit! I know I bang about that a lot, but that’s D3 for you! :D And you seem to be surviving, so t’s the DPS wall, I guess.
Never played that Shenlong/Raiment, but you do need a better Compass Rose and I’d even say Traveller’s Pledge. No crit at all on the ring and while the ammy is not bad, dual crit is the holy grail as ammys roll up to 10% CHC. Your CHC looks a little low? It may be worth sacrificing CHD on the ammy for a 10% CHC boost.
You could also run the String of Ears belt for mitigation, put on the set shoulders and replace RORG in the cube with old faithful Convention of Elements for an additional and significant DPS buff. Damn nice Hellcat, though.
I have no idea what you are talking about with the rifts. Is there a Dummies guide out there?
90% of my D3 names are a mix of mine and my wife’s various EverQuest characters. Sookie was her Halfling Warrior.
Haha, I only meant to confirm that was the toon you ran the GR70 with, but I do appreciate a good backstory! :)
I’ll be doing a new review of my gear in a few days and I’ll keep your suggestions in mind. I haven’t touched this monk since I blasted it through the last couple weeks of a season last year or so, and I never did optimize past getting my bank tab.
Any thoughts on priorities for this Wizard? I built it a) many patches ago, and b) around an Ancient Serpent Sparker that is or at least was so much better than anything else I had that it just had to be built around. But I guess it’s definitely not in the meta now, and I feel it’s not as survivable as it should be. DPS seems to be fine in the low 30s GR, though. Even better when I use my other headband, which has +10% meteor damage.

My wife and I play couch MP all the time in DiabloIII, and loot does NOT work that way! It is predetermined, so it doesn’t matter who picks it up, it gets evenly distributed. Also, once you pick up something, a little sub text shows up with some handy green arrows letting you know if it is an upgrade or not as you are playing. Very unobtrusive and useful.
Yeah, I don’t typically use them, but if I’m having trouble hitting a time limit, it can be an easy fix (if you aren’t struggling to survive or kill things, which is indicative of a different problem).
