Ha! I’ve been playing seasons since they started (mostly as a Crusaser)!and never realized that you could bring a friend to help. It hadn’t been an issue until this season, just required a few solo tries as a Crusader, and last season as a monk with the Inna set.

This season with the Rainment starter set, man… I just noped after a few tries. Unlike the Inna set dungeon which you can master as soon as you complete the set, the Rainment dungeon looked to require some special gear and a lot of practice… or just bring a friend. The more you know.

In other news, finally was able to squeak out a GR 70 (in Hardcore) the other day. This has me in the top 100 of NA monks, which is just silly.

Gratz on the HC GR70 and leaderboard!

Thanks! But for reference, a slow GR 70 for the Necro won’t even put you in the top 1000 in hardcore. You need to run a 90 in softcore.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m playing the same game.

@Misguided: you are correct about the minimum required level of a character when you gamble. I did get that Necro ring with a level 4 necromancer gamble.

Took me all of 100 shards, lol. Actually wearing it, a lvl 16 on my 68. Makes such a big difference. Between the ring and the blood mage rune, they last a decent amount of time. It will be getting cubed soon enough.

Anyone running into a problem where nothing you do will restore essence? I run Lost Time build from Bluddshed and it keeps bugging into zero essence with no way to recover…

Also, Tasker and Theo is a bitch to gamble for. I am glad my main build does not need one.

Hit 70. Ran a master rift, which was fun. Really liking the build I have going. army of the dead is recharging very fast (haven’t timed it, but it feels fast). And I think the strength of it isn’t nuking bosses per se (except maybe w the unconventional army variant) but taking a nice chunk out of them while clearing out other stuff that minions can focus the main enemies down more quickly. Will be interesting to see how this holds up over the long haul, but enjoying it for now.

I rebirthed my witch doctor, a class I have not played since the game released, for season 11. What the hell? I know my minions are braindead zombies BUT NO FOCUS FIRE AT ALL? Also, I seem to remember starting adventure mode at level 1 on master difficulty being less hard than this…

Yeah, you basically can resummon dogs or gargantuan if they’re being dumb or if they ran off somewhere and you move far enough they’ll pretty much teleport to you. It’s like a good a good screen and a half or something to trigger that so it can be annoying.

I’m up to GR level 30 now I think, maybe 30-something. And it still only gives me 3 level up tries plus one for not dying.

Anyway, I’ve gotten my Gem of Ease up to level 19 now. So hopefully two more GRs should do the trick.

Unfortunately, I was looking through my stash, and the only legendary weapon I have in there that a Demon Hunter can use is a one handed crossbow. So I guess that’s my only choice on what to pass down to the Demon Hunter and make something from level 70 to no level requirement. Not as good as a two handed weapon, but I never found one of those so far, so I guess this is the only choice I have. I don’t think a Demon Hunter can use most of her skills with a 2 handed axe, or something similar. Can she? I do believe most skills get grayed out if you don’t have a bow.

You pay gold for the 5th, before you start the rift, by selecting the “empowered” option.

Any tips for recording Diablo gameplay?

It’s not crazy demanding, so whatever you have handy. Obs or shadowplay would be fine.

Oh, haha. I just ignored the empowered and never thought to check what it actually did. Since I have massive amounts of gold, maybe spending some on an additional gem level up would be worthwhile (depending on the cost, of course).

I’ve hit that typical wall at GR27 where I know that I can’t go any further without some significant changes in my equipment for my Necro. I really love the skill set, using Siphon Blood with Blood Novas every second hit, immune to all Arcane and Lightning damage, Corpse Lance with Ricochet once I explode everyone with Bone Armor which has its own bonus of 1000% damage, among a bunch of other similar bonuses. But, my interest fades as improvements slow down and stop. I pick up more useless legendaries and set items and that’s disappointing for the time it takes to do all the work to get them.

Problem is, I don’t play like these high-levels are designed to be played. I don’t want to optimize my build exactly like everyone else just to move on, so I’ll keep at it for a bit then likely stop and wait for the next season. I’ve gotten the set reward in S11 already (and only use two of the set, because I have other better items).

So what’s the secret (if any) to leveling Demon Hunters on Hard during a season? They seem to take 2-4x as long, or worse, to kill stuff than Mages.

I switched to Inarius this weekend and I don’t think I’m going back to Rathma. Really having fun with the Bonestorm build. Also attempted the Tragoul builds but It’s such an odd playstyle, it doesn’t feel right at all. I’m at about GR73 with the Inarius set though, and it works very well as a speed and push build. If you like AoD over Singularity, you may be an Inarius person too.

This is what happens to me. I go full throttle while the improvements are constant as during the leveling up process, but I begin to get diminishing interest once things settle down into a grind. Right now I’m suffering from DB scarcity as I need to obtain specific items best gambled on Kunai’s Cube with upgrading a rare item. Very slow process indeed. Anyone have any ideas what the best DB farming technique would be? I know getting those resource treas. goblins are a great boon.

It’s very weird how Rathma doesn’t actually give you any more killing speed other than the Army of the Dead cooldown reduction until the 6pc. I hit 70 and immediately got the 4pc, like you do (nice rolls, too, so that was nice). But I don’t actually kill any faster than I used to.

The RNG gave me the Grim Scythe scythe and Lost Time, so I switched up to Frost Scythe and it’s working pretty well. My damage is really spiky, between AoD and Convention of Elements, but I can at least get through T4 which gets me the 6pc from the season journey. Or will next weekend when I get another chance to play anyway, heh.

I’ve realized why I never end up rolling a HC character: I just prefer a wide open playstyle that allows me to try different approaches and push higher difficulty levels sometimes. With HC you have to be really cautious all the way. There’s a payoff in the HC achievement, but the game is built to push the envelope to get better gear and being HC would really slow that down, something I don’t think I could abide.

That’s pretty common with most of the sets bonuses, I find - damage at 2-pieces, mitigation/utility at 4 pieces, uber damage at 6-pieces.
