Obs studio is free streaming software, but it has decent features for doing offline recording as well.
Honestly I’d probably look at that first because it can also use nvenc which is the same gpu encoding that nvidia shadowplay uses but without needing to install the annoying GeForce experience nonsense.
They are probably using Trapped bec of the ring that gives bonus damage to CC’d enemies. I don’t even have an enforcer yet. Hope to run more GRs soon, though, to get my last 2 set pieces.
Trapped is one of the best gems in the game and is a good choice for just about every build. It is a flat and damage boost to cc’d enemies that increases with gem level. Given you always typically have some sort of cc on a skill or a rune, it is a reliable proc, but that is moot as at level 25 it also applies an AoE slow cc, providing a mitigation boost and becoming a self-proc!
It is doubly important for Necros, though because you want to be running with a Krysbin’s Sentence ring, which doubles damage to slowed enemies (and triples damage against other cc effects). Trapped will also auto-proc this ring within it’s AoE.
Trapped, Enforcer and Molten Gizzard.
Because the Singularity Skellies put out so much DPS and I have an impatient play-style in high GR’s, I modified the Icy Veins build for more mitigation by dropping the Endless Walk set and replacing with a Haunt of Vaxo amulet (Hellfire may be a better option, or the Wisdom of Kalan) and either a Rogar’s Huge Stone or a Lornelle’s Sunstone.
I wanted the rings for mitigation and an ammy for damage. There is not a lot of great ammy’s for damage so I am trying out Vaxo as the clones are up for 15 seconds and proc every 30, seem to be affected by set bonuses and cast some of the other skills on my bar, offering utility as well.
Lornelle’s is my preferred ring I think, as it is flat damage mitigation, but I can’t get a decent dual crit to drop so i am with Rogar’s Huge Stone for the moment. With Gizzard, Rogar’s and Bone Armor/Thy Flesh sustained, life regen is mental - 150-300k/second - as long as you can avoid one-shots, you are back to full health in seconds. Have run up to GR74 on that config before taking some time to level my WD to run bounties and level gems for augments.
I finally got the endless walk set and Krysbins which I didn’t have before. I made some other tweaks and I’m up to g60 and counting. I swapped Zei’s for Esoteric, changed the diamond in my helm for vit and the other gems to rubies for the armor.
Much more survivability. I just need to keep upgrading gems and hopefully get some ancients and some upgraded rolls since I have almost none so far.

I’ve already got the annoying GeForce thing installed and tied to an email…
New build is working great for me. Guy who posted it thinks it tops out around Grift 80 but that should get me through most of season step 7.
Also, server patch today killed upper in Act 4 goblin runs. Sad trombone.
Got a Krysbin’s earlier, with an awful roll (no crit, crit damage, or socket). However, I got an ancient Restraint that was pretty good.
My necro is doing pretty well - had a fair bit of luck when leveling, as I got the 5th piece of the Rathma set as a drop before I finished GR20. That and a RoRG meant I had full 6 piece bonus before I got all my free gear. Which was cool
I can’t for the life of me get the Jesseth scythe though; I’ve been upgrading rare scythes all day and nothing. I’m also worried I’m going to lose a ton of damage, as I’m currently using a Shadowhook as my weapon (instead of cubing it) since it’s the best weapon I’ve found so far.
Anyone using the Devour aura? I’m using that, mostly because I’m lazy. How crucial is having the extra health from Devour at higher rifts? My experience in higher rifts is that most anything can kill you, so it’s unclear how much the health you get when devouring will help.
So of course right after I complain about not getting a Jesseth’s, I transmute one. Paper doll damage went down around 200k but clear speed seemed the same (I didn’t cube the shadowhook in case my clear speed went down; I’ll do that now).
Yep, Shadowhook in the cube.
Re Devour - I use aura rune for low Rifts and gem leveling, Cannibalize or Satiated for pushing once survivability needs a boost.
Remember, as mentioned upthread, that paper doll dps doesn’t include stuff like legendary bonuses or any sort of conditional factors.
I gambled the Jesseth shield yesterday. 3 attempts at the scythe have yielded a corroded fang (now cubed) and a pair of SotCs
Excerpt from Jason Schreier’s upcoming book:
“Error 37” turned into a meme, mushrooming across Internet forums as fans vented their frustration. Diablo players had already been skeptical about Blizzard’s decision to make Diablo III online only—a decision that cynics assumed was driven by fear of piracy—and these server issues nourished the belief that it had been a bad idea. It immediately occurred to fans that if they could play Diablo III offline, they would be fighting their way through New Tristram right now, not trying to figure out what Error 37 meant.
Over at Blizzard’s campus in Irvine, California, a group of engineers and live-ops producers sat in their self-proclaimed “war room,” freaking out. Diablo III had outsold their wildest expectations, but their servers couldn’t handle the flood of players trying to log into the game. Around 1:00 a.m. Pacific time Blizzard posted a brief message: “Please note that due to a high volume of traffic, login and character creation may be slower than normal. . . . We hope to resolve these issues as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.”
A few miles away, at the Irvine Spectrum outdoor mall, the rest of the Diablo III team had no idea that people couldn’t play their game. They were busy partying. Hundreds of hard-core fans, dressed in spiky armor and carrying giant foam battle-axes, had come out for the official Diablo III launch event. As Blizzard’s developers signed autographs and passed out swag to the crowd, they started to hear whispers about overloaded servers. Soon it became clear that this wasn’t a standard launch hiccup.
That was a great read. Thank you for sharing that link. Josh Mosqueira was the hero of that story. First hired to work on the console version, and then becoming the director for the game. Honestly a lot of the positive changes that came later in the PC version, you can see the roots of those changes in the console version that he built with his small team.
Yeah, the difference between where Diablo III sits now and the reception at launch is gigantic. It’s funny how the whole Error 37 fiasco and the way the auction house completely screwed up the balance of the game is almost forgotten.
True, though the reason the game is so much better now is seasons and adventure mode. It’s a very different game than it was at launch, fortunately.
One big, big thing Blizzard did right, and which I think underpins the entire turnaround of the game, is adopt the attitude of it should be fun for the player, rather than be held accountable to some sort of arcane ludological balance philosophy. Pretty much, most of the changes since they ditched the AH have been of the “does that sound cool? Sure, do it!” variety, like adventure mode, adding more and better stuff rather than nerfing existing stuff, etc.

Before that article I’d never really thought about the fact that us hardcore players had a significantly different experience with the auction house since you could only use in-game gold to bid.

Ah thanks - I’m only around 30%/200% at the moment. So I guess high end content is just running rifts over and over to gradually get better and better drops and to upgrade legendary gems?
The ‘supersonic chicken’ build I’m using to speed run bounties and lower rifts is really really fun. More or less helltooth pet build, with the 2 piece manajuma. This has especially fixed the problem I’ve always had with bounties, which is running around too much to get to the objective. Running at 220% makes doing bounties actually fun now.
The only problem, much like playing a bard in EQ, is that it’s impossible to go back to a character with slower run speed.
Wel, there’s lots of different things to do with the season journey. Rifts play a big part, but there’s other things too, like conquests, set dungeons, etc.
I had 50/400 almost as soon as I hit 70. It makes a big difference. Look at your rings, amulet, and wrists. You are looking for crit and crit damage on all four (plus sockets on the jewelry). When you get a drop, you want two of the three so you can reroll to get the other. And you can always craft a few at the smith to get what you need.
