Went with a necro this season. Running a pet curse thorns build. think i have 5-6 ancients now and rolling right along I can see this build pushing higher end GR once I get better gear.

Heh, yeah without the firebird bonus it is even crazier. Will have to see how high I can push after my daughter’s party.

Can tear through t10 and t11 using the lon bonus. T13 felt like I was probably too squishy. Probably could swap some topaz out for diamonds and try again. Most likely will just farm ~t10 for now.

Started up a monk just because I haven’t played one since 2012 (jeez this game is old).

Hey, I am slowly working my way through Act IV. For the first time. I suck at playing this game quickly. It’s pretty tough for my Barbarian character (level… uh… 57 I think). I keep dying if I get boxed in (on Master). So I suck in general. But I’m enjoying it. I keep getting all these new skills, but none of them are as much fun as Cleave with Rupture (where you can end up with a massive chain of things going pop!) which I got right back near the start of the game.

Frozen Orb is hilarious.

Feeling a little squishy for T12+ so far, but that’s with some pretty scrubby gear in a bunch of slots. Really enjoying this build with lightning stuns for defense and crazy orb dps. Good times.

Character link.

Me too! I’ve played it heaps over the years and it’s right up there with my all-time favourites, if not the favourite. :)

But I don’t think I’ve ever got far in the actual endgame stuff as I tend to drift off and come back later to start again, over and over… and loving it. :P

I think you should always try slot an escape skill, e.g. Leap will get you out of being boxed in. And maybe drop the difficulty down a notch, since you’re basically still in the tutorial. ;)

Reminder that the challenge rift resets today. It’s suuuuper easy this week. Next one is likely to be way more annoying.

I’ve never done those, what do they give you?

From memory, 35 Death’s Breath, 15 of each act 's bounty resources, ~500 Blood Shards, 5 million gold, and I think a bunch of lesser materials. A great boost to starting a season character! :)

Just be aware, you need to start the season character before completing the challenge rift for that character to be able to collect the reward.

The LoN season bonus sure makes it easy to run another character. My younger daughter was upset because my character had my older daughter’s name, so she wanted one named after her. So I through a gem of ease into a level 70 weapon started up a crusader, got to 70 pretty quickly, then equipped some ancients that were dropped for my wizard. She can run t6 no problem, and it shouldn’t be long before she actually has proper gear for a crusader.

Ah yes, I guess that’s what Leap would be useful for. :) I do like the challenge though. Wading through mobs with things exploding everywhere is enormous fun, but having to think about how I approach fights more carefully is a nice change of pace. It’s manageable, I’ll get there.

If you want a real challenge, take a blessed shield crusader build out with a 2h weapon, no shield, and no skills to use the weapon. Oops

What @Profanicus said. It is the single best risk vs reward 15 minutes you can spend per week. Unless they do absolutely stupid builds that you need to be Superman to complete. This week’s is very easy. As was last week’s.

Did that challenge rift when I started my hardcore character, was a good idea. Now I can have a few cube items already. Never played necro with that builld before, so had to retry once before I did it.

Cheers for the headsup. Didn’t know it gave rewards.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. More mats to grind up my spare legendaries with is helpful for sure.

Wizard is a death machine. I’m close to 6/6 Delsere’s (and have Focus/Restraint to boot) so I may try that and see if it outperforms the LoN version I’m currently running.

Active defenses on this thing are nuts though. Reactive stuns from Storm Armor + Wyrdward, chill/freeze from Frozen Orb + Iceblink + Frostburn, automatic Diamond Skin from Dark Mage’s Shade, plus cooldown bypass on damage for Teleport and Mirror Image from Illusionist passive.

Thunderfury and Ess of Johan on the templar aren’t bad either.

Anyway if I do go through effectively two healthbars before hitting any panic buttons, I still have Unstable Anomaly to get out of death free, because hell if I need any damage from passives.

I am amused.

Every class is amusingly powerful after so many years of mudflation, but not every one can clear over an entire screen of enemies like a wizard or demon hunter.

How long does it take you guys to get to 70 when these new seasons start? Hours?

I started a Wizard last season, played some hours, got her up to 54 and then just kind of moved on. I do that quite often, play adventure mode a bit, then the campaign a bit, back to adventure, etc…then get a bit tired of it…played up to 50ish so many times.

Had one 70 one time. Got up toT8 I think, dont remember…would ā€œlikeā€ to get up there again.

Hmm, not sure how much time it took my DH to hit 70 - maybe a few hours at most? My boosted wizard took 15 minutes.

I’ll check my Monk when its 70 to see how much time it takes, although it is on Hardcore mode so I play a bit ā€˜safer’ than I would otherwise have done.

Also; I got a leroics crown at level 17 on him, and a gem at 19 so now it has 20% xp bonus. Playing on Normal mode so far, as I do not yet have the dps to venture to a higher mode (with more xp bonuses).
