I’ve tried to avoid UPS ever since their advice, when my package never showed up although they marked it as delivered, was that I should ask all my neighbors in my apartment complex if it had been delivered to them. There are hundreds of units here. I declined.
Unfortunately, often you have no choice of shipper when ordering online. Plus, it mostly depends more on your individual driver than the company. Mostly.
As far as I’m concerned there is no difference between them. That UPS has fucked me over more often is just a function of Amazon preferring to ship via UPS most of the time. They have virtually identical terrible, consumer-hostile policies, will fail to deliver in exactly the same way for exactly the same reasons and with the exact same complete lack of recourse, have equally terrible customer support and the same complete inability to communicate with the local operations that might actually be able to do something about any issues I’m experiencing. I know Fedex has quicker shipping options and I think they’re more expensive overall (though when Amazon’s paying it makes no difference to me and if I need to ship something I go USPS, because they cost about a fifth as much as either UPS or Fedex), but that’s not really material to me on this end.
Amazon’s packing has been getting worse. I had two separate orders: D3 RoS CE preorder, and a 6 pound bag of cat food. What does Amazon do? Combine them into one huge long box with some paper thrown in on top. Nothing in between them to keep them from hitting each other, and nothing to keep them sliding around.
Thankfully the CE box was not damaged, but the cat food bag had a hole in it, probably from being thrown around and whacked by the CE box.
Holy shit. That is art. That’s not even a bagger at the grocery store level of fucks given.
Shouldn’t there be a bunch of those biodegradable plastic bubbles in there?
Looking at that, I’m almost surprised there isn’t a picture of some dude flipping you off.
That probably costs extra.

As a future grocery bagger of America I find this comment offensive. We give at least 7x that many fucks.
Playing through Act 5 getting to 70, enemy health is increasing a lot faster than I’m finding gear to up my damage. It doesn’t help that there’s no level 62-65 rare gear, just 61 then 66, so there’s a good part of the grind where you’re getting pretty much nothing. At 68 I ended up dropping from Torment 1 to Master, because I was just sick of how long it took to kill things (they weren’t that threatening, as their damage didn’t increase like their health, and my own health increased an insane amount even from a little gear.) I just took it down to Hard halfway through 69, again not due to any risk but due to being completely sick of how long it was taking to kill things and I want to get this shit done.
I’m sure it will all work out as I gear at 70, but it’s kind of a tedious leveling curve.
Also, the zone I’m in right now is pretty much ass in terms of kill speed anyway, because every damned enemy has some annoyance mechanic like flee AI or massive block chance.
Edit: Yup, level 70 gear is quickly pushing things up again. Even moderately itemized 70 gear is generally an upgrade. It seems they could have kept the health of enemies lower before 70 and things would have been smoother.

I could use some input. I play this game on the PS3, and now reading some of you saying the certain things only drop on Master level and above, I decided to try that level out, with a wizard.
First, let me say that this is really HARD! I don’t know how you guys do it. Do you have tons of money from previous games? All my toons are gone (No idea why, they just are), so I’m starting from scratch again and have absolutely no money. Also, at lvl 13 I haven’t gotten a single yellow or above drop so I’d say the drop rates are worse?
I guess my questions are, DO drop rates really increase, and from what level range could one reasonably expect it? And is there an easier way to start at Normal Master 1? Thanks!
OK, yeah, that ending…they are almost certainly looking ahead to make another expansion.
Also, the writing was so much less shit than the base game. I mean, it’s not high art, but it didn’t make me feel a nauseating mix of contempt and annoyance.
Paragon levels help those of us rolling new characters a lot. With the scaling, +resist all makes you basically invincible at low levels. We also have a ton of crafting mats, so drops aren’t an issue if the RNG hates us.
Yellows are pretty rare early on. They pick up around 20 and really are rolling by 30.

I hit my new Massacre record of 364 in that place.

I’ve only managed to get to 68 yesterday (leveled 4 characters, still deciding which one I want to main) but this has been my exact experience as well. After 66 the health pool inflations goes crazy and it suddenly takes 3 times as long to kill anything. I didn’t really know what to say when a friend told me one of the bosses he faced at ~66-67 had 700 million hit points.
Are you still playing a crusader? Do things get better at 70? I went over the list of legendaries it has available and while some change the playstyle dramatically I don’t know if it’s going to be enough to bring the class into spotlight. Not to mention that balancing the class around specific items isn’t exactly the pinnacle of good design.
I’m really liking the look of some of the new armor. This isn’t even transmogged.

Regarding Amazon packaging, yeah they are getting worse. My CE came in a long box with just a tiny bit of brown paper to buffer it. Looks like (at least in this case) they’ve abandoned the bubble wrap. Between that and taxes the advantages of going Amazon are diminishing, that’s for sure.

oh…so THAT’s the secret? Thats too bad - I don’t think I have the patience or interest in levelling up to 60 and then starting another character again.
Mine arrived yesterday in the same condition, but there was an obscene amount of brown paper filling the box.
I made it up to 65 last night on my Barb. Playing through the story on my own first to see it all before I start grinding. I have to say I really like the Westmarch sections. All the little side dungeons were pretty cool and the storyline about the king was fun to follow. Heck I even enjoyed all the dialogue you get from the people in the safe area, seeing their stories evolve as you go along. I think Blizz has done a much better job with the writing this time around.
I’m playing on Master and the gear level gap between 61 and 66 is starting to get tiring. I finally had a nice legendary 2h-sword drop that upped my damage by 50+% while dropping my healing and defense by 25+% each. Was worth it though, most monsters couldn’t hurt me anyway. I was getting ready to switch out revenge since I never had to use it, but now in some encounters I have to spam it as it pops again. I’m really loving avalanche too. I just love gathering up a group of mobs then foot stomping to stun everyone then hitting avalanche and whirlwinding to mop up the rest.
At least your CEs are showing up, mine is still languishing in shipping soon status after 26 hours.
The longer it takes them to ship something, the more they kick the box.
