Made a little progress on my barb last night. But good god the jump in difficulty in Pandemonium is crazy (and this is only on master). Plus so many of the mobs there can jump or dash out of melee range it’s a pain in the ass. Wound up dying to rare/elite combo packs a few times but I was able to finish them all off by kiting and then leaping in ground stomp stun and avalanche. Man I love avalanche. Though I have to say, breaching the gate to the fortress is probably one of my favorite events in the game now.

OK, I finished the RoS storyline with my Barb, doing it all on Master, and the only times I found myself frustrated was with Adria and Malthael, both of which required me to swap out all of my skills to something more “boss” targeted. I died a couple of times on each of them, but mostly succeeded by kiting and copious use of the Healing Wells.
So, what do the developers want me to do now? Play Adventure mode and do bounties? Is that where I should be headed to improve my gear? I have no clue how to end game this thing, so I’d love any comments/feedback on the type of stuff I need to improve. Here’s my profile, critique away!
NEPHALEM…
(had a lot of fun with RoS so far and will continue to do so, but my god the story is worse than ever. I even usually don’t mind corny Blizzard popcorn stories to the point of actively enjoying them from time to time, but oh. my. god.)

Worse than ever? You must be completely forgetting how bad the story was.
At no point does Mal tell you what he is doing and where his is. You spend the whole act trying to figure that out.
He has a plan, that’s not full retarded and he executes it fairly well and at no point do you want to punch you monitor because of the stupid coming out of it.
It’s not amazing or anything, but it’s not the sheer idiocy of the first four acts, you know where you only progressed because the enemy was nice enough to tell you exactly how to counter them every 5 minutes?

Adventure mode, bounties, rifts, tweak gear with the mystic, reset quests to run it all again, and ratchet the difficulty up as you’re comfortable. It’s all a lot more freeform than it used to be which I can greatly appreciate – some of those quests (especially in Act 2) were such a slog to get through.

Eph, you have a crazy amount of Toughness, but low damage comparatively. Look for more %damage boosts: crit, skill, element, etc. Noticed your chest doesn’t have any sockets, look for something with 3 spots.
Cold damage runes also do far less damage than their counterparts; I’d immediately swap the avalanche glacier rune out for volcano since you don’t have any cold% damage, for example.
Adventure mode is great, definitely head there next.
There is NO WAY this is worse than the original story. Just stop it.
The thing that bothers me the most about the RoS expansion and all of its changes is that I can’t transmog my items into set pieces I’ve crafted. Just ones I’ve found, apparently. Get your act together, Blizzard.

What’s the deal with “transmogs”? Is that just the name used for crafting stuff?
Transmog is taking a thing and making it look like another thing. Getting that ugly gold helmet to turn into an awesome horned black metal helmet, for example. For pretty-ification.
EDIT: While maintaining it’s original stats. Whew, missed the important part.
Transmogs are where you give one item the look of another. Like last night where I turned by Barbs legendary leather hotpants to look like awesome plate armor.
Lucky. I ran around for most of the time between 2.0 and the expansion with those horrific looking Pox Faulds on my barb. No self respecting barbarian with an eye for fashion would be caught dead in them.

How do you do that? New feature in the expansion I haven’t run across yet?
mild spoilers
In Act V you save the Mystic, and she allows you to transmog stuff. You can level her up to add more things to change the look of an item into, and she can also “enchant” an item by changing one affix on it.
Yep those are the ones I just transmogged.
Talk to the Mystic, it’s one of her crafting options. So you won’t be able to access it till Act V.
*Edit: Man I’m just slow on the draw today!

Transmogging concerns the rather touchy subject of what happens when a mob realizes that is a Murloc trapped in Troglodyte’s body. Most regions shy away from dealing with such issues, but Westmire finally takes the issue head on and allows this life altering magic to finally escape the back alley black magic of Bastions Keep.

How do you know? If she was such a mystic with foresight of the future, why did she do what she did in act 1?
BTW since we are on lore stuff, there is something I want to know.
In the back soul stone at there are 5 evils with 2 remaining to capture.
I know of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto. who are the other 2? Where is this explained and how do they get slain / captured?
