Service with a smile, that’s my motto!

Ok i have two complaints now.

The maps are worse than ever. HUGE maps that are the same generic room/corridor over and over again. I know diablo isnt a name linked to good map design but blizzard was even lazier than normal here.

The health of monsters is stupid. Someone at blizzard must have accidentally tripled the intended health for every enemy in act 5. The bosses are the worst. I just fought a boss that literally took 15 minutes. The fight wasn’t even that hard, just me dodging his attacks and him having unlimited health. I’m using a 2k dps weapon at 59, so i’m not exactly wearing crap gear either. This is not challenging. This is not fun. This is just a bug in the health numbers drawing out the length of fights to stupid levels.

Rifts are great. I was very surprised when I got act 2 sewers as a map and didn’t even realise what zone I’m in until I got to the second level of it. It’s amazing what some lighting tweaks and mob shuffling can do. Yesterday me and a friend went in one where we fought ~20 elite packs and maybe 2 packs of regular trash mobs, was pretty crazy seeing the reversed ratio, but also very fun to just chain pull them and keep racking up the XP.

Hah! Glad I asked! I’ll save up then, only using them when I get near cap.

Minor complaint: The dye system is annoying, moreso once you get a character to 70. Top level dyes cost as much as a single yellow at 70 meaning they aren’t cost prohibitive, but I have to wait until the merchant decides to stock the one I want. Would love to see this functionality rolled into the Mystic either as an unlock or small gold fee in the future.

Yeah I don’t understand the need to have limited dye supplies at all. I wish I had the option to transmogrify or dye a ‘slot’ instead of each piece of equipment separately as well. I’d rather have a new piece of equipment be automatically changed when I swap it in instead of having to go to the Mystic or my stash every time to update it.

Returning to Diablo 3 to try out RoS only to find that my game license was suspended. WTF? I think I was hacked. I read that this is pretty common. What are the chances of my game being reinstated? (I was able to login to my Battle.net account, just can’t play the game!)

My wife had her account hacked a year ago and only just discovered this once we decided to give RoS a try. We had forgotten the account particulars (we had email account changes on our end, didn’t know her battlenet name, etc). All we could do was say what we thought was the email account and give a Paypal purchase date. To our surprise, they were on top of it and it was a positive experience.

They found her account and reset the password and gave her a link to make a choice: Keep what she had now and do nothing, or click the link to roll her account back to its state before the hack; they knew the date on when it happened. Courtesy the hack, all her characters were deleted except one – a level 60 monk at Paragon level 108, 350 million in gold, and a vault full of legendaries.

She kept the hacked version of the account.

Hmm, oh wow… that’s nice :D
Let’s see what support came back. Fortunately I bought the game box, so I have the DVD and serial. But if it were hacked/banned, having proof of purchase might not help. We’ll see. Thanks!

Excited to get playing this. Just waiting for my sons to quit playing Stick of Truth and install this so we can play it together.

Whenever I hear stories like that I’m torn between being glad they’ve apparently improved and being super pissed that they treated me so shittily when my Collector’s Edition WoW account got hacked and banned back in the day. Based on my experiences, I would have expected them to blame you for being hacked and refuse to fix anything or even confirm that you had been hacked in the first place.

My account was locked and they unlocked it for me without a hassle.

Difficulty scaling over 60 is poorly done in the extreme. They must have hired some bethesda guys to implement this.

One level i will be doing well and then when i get my next level up, everything instantly starts killing me in two hits. Really blizzard?

It would have been better if Act V was just flat-out more difficult right out of the gate and they made it known you were going to have to drop the difficulty. As it stands you could have been cruising T1 pre-RoS and then halfway through Act V you have to bump it down to hard.

I finished it on Torment 1. Ended up being level 66 or 67. As mentioned i did have a 1,900 dps weapon with lower requirements, but otherwise all found gear.

The story was overall on the same (low) level as the rest of diablo 3, but the ending was very bad. They were too cheap to even make decent CG for the ending. I was really disappointed in that. One of the best things about blizzard games are the CGI movies, but i guess they were making this on a budget.

The boss fights were for the most part disappointing. They all had WAY too much health, causing you to spend large amounts of time doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over. The last boss was also a typical blizzard “FUCK YOU MELEE” boss, which while not surprising, is also disappointing.

Yeah, I’d rather them use more fun mechanics for the fights instead of buff their health into the 100 millions.

As for the expansion…while it’s definitely a great experience thus far, I personally feel that $40 for a single act, a new class and some extra modes is way too much. I guess it all averages out to a decent deal because I only paid $20 for the main game 3 weeks ago, but Steam and other distribution companies have really spoiled my expected price range for a good game.

Speaking of “fuck you melee:” so far all the cursed chests in adventure mode have triggered elite fights with bosses who have the rotating beams of death AND waller or prison. Is that just my terrible luck, or do they expect you to kill such things in 20 seconds with a melee class?

Just luck. You’ll get different boss powers eventually.

Kinda where I was at with the expansion…$20? Sure. $40 for what’s there? Eh. It’s a good expansion, just sorta high for what you actually get.

I understand that Torment has a better chance of dropping legendaries, and unique legendaries, but since my 70 is finding it hard, is there any reason (except for Paragon levels) to go past Normal or Hard?

I ask this because I find the Treasure Goblins and Events are much harder at Hard/Expert/Master, but there’s no better drop rate, so if I’m not after Paragon levels, I’m just better off at Normal in order to have a better chance at winning these events, right?
