I’d say boredom. Normal is pretty damn boring to do repeatedly. Unless your 70 has incredibly bad gear, I’d think Hard/Expert would be a more ideal sweet spot.
I’m just ripping through Hard, but I have to really hustle to knock treasure goblins down, and will almost certainly fail to clear all 5 waves of a cursed chest event. I’m just wondering whether the loot from the events are worth the boredom as you’ve mentioned. I find Master and Torment to be annoying for the reason mentioned above: infinite HP bosses which can’t hurt me - presently I have Arcane immunity so makes those fights even more depressingly mind-numbing.
Enchanting seems to use a crap ton of gold and why don’t you want paragon levels?
Yeah the worst is when you have to do the five waves of a cursed shrine, and the last wave has a half dozen monsters that run away from you. Given the time limit, and if there were no other monsters to fight, I might be able to kill five or six blood clan shamans who are all shielding each other and running away. Might. Maybe.
Been playing a Crusader from level 1 to 56 with a friend playing a Witch Doctor, just starting Act IV on Torment 2 (yeah, more on that later) and I’ve been enjoying it immensely. It’s a little vexing that he is the “weakest” of the melee classes. The Barbarian is more of a tank and doesn’t wear pants. But whatever, I like playing classes with a lot of utility.
The early game would have been a lot harder without the WD, because. … WD. At level 40 I equipped a reduced 20 level Messerschmidt’s Reaver and the dps went up 1000%. Jacked up the level to Torment just to keep it interesting. The rest of the gear isn’t up to Torment standards in Act IV, so we’ll probably have to lower the level by the time we get to diablo.
I’ll post more later on the specifics of why I like the class so much if folks are interested, but right now sleep is calling my name, and loudly.

If you absolutely can’t kill a treasure goblin I’d say it’s a good sign you should bump the difficulty down.
I don’t know about this.
I can’t kill one and am otherwise doing torment 1 at level 69 just fine. I am a hammer crusader and tend to have a bit weak single target dps, ESPECIALLY if the target is small and running away at super speed. I could respec and change to something specifically designed to kill a treasure goblin, and it would probably work, but i am way too lazy for that.
As a monk I have the same problem clearing waves and goblins. Melee classes have to chase down mobs when they are spread out and I don’t have really heavy-hitting AoE like my mage. As a result, everytime one of those goblins runs it’s a mad chase to kill him, sometimes chaining bosses and elites by the time I finally put him down (if I do). My ability to 'port and punch him is time limited, so sometimes if enough mobs get in the way, the little guy actually does get away.
And yes, I want me Paragon levels, and it seems to me that it’s a toss up between farming loot at Normal since the drop rates are the same, and farming levels at hard.

I completed the game at lvl 52 with a Crusader and damn that last boss figth was hard. My friend is playing it on Hardcore Expert and with 58 paragon levels barely made it.
I’m not really excited anymore about the Crusader class, and thought I’d start a new wizard since everyone says they are the greatest. If someone would be kind enough to tell me if this character is good enough to run Master as I’m doing right now, to get levels and to get to lvl 70 and get me some Paragon levels? Thanks!
Actually the legendary drop rate is increased on Torment and is being patched to be increased further. Also here is the list of legendary items that will only drop in Torment difficulties. You don’t get any Kulle-Aid for playing on Normal!
I know, it’s just that getting stuck for 15 minutes at a boss just seems like… work. :( I’d rather a shorter more challenging fight, than watching a HP bar drop soooo slowly. Maybe I need to farm a lot better for DPS before I go back to Torment.
If you’re not hardcore, just put it on Master and see what happens. Wizards can play even at 1 hit = dead difficulty, so it’s mostly a matter of how long you want to spend killing an enemy.

This just dropped for my WD so I’m playing around trying a pure pet build for fun. Even with the damage bonus it doesn’t seem quite as efficient as nuking/DoTs as the pets occasionally have pathing/targeting issues and just stand around idle, but having
[ul]
[li]+97% Pet damage
[/li][li]+19% Physical damage
[/li][li]+20% Damage from Pierce the Veil
[/li][li]+21% Fetish Army damage
[/li][li]+20% Damage against elites
[/li][li]+15%/+30% Damage from Piranhas/Slam Dance
[/li][/ul]
turns Fetish Army into a pretty scary monster murdering force.
Evidence? Or are you just handwaving?
Anyway - apparently you get double blood shards on expert+, which if they make that vendor actually worth using…might make it worthwhile for a slightly wider band of people.

Thanks - I just put it down on Hard actually, since golden enemies took forever to kill.

Elite/champion packs are spawned with random affixes.
Mostly random. I don’t think there has ever been confirmation it is entirely random. In fact I believe certain affixes were specifically tuned to be less common together as they were close to impossible. Also, in the 150+ hours I have with my barb I have seen the ‘missile immune’ affix about 5 times total.
But yeah, sometimes you just get bad streaks where it looks like the RNG is out to get you.
I do think they make some more common based on your class personally.
My crusader got 7 elite packs with thorns in a row last night.
Waller, arcane and frozen was a respawn combination for me. Fortunately it is rare and I am not taking the arcane immunity amulet off - ever.
Bargain! Waste of an affix and easy pickings! :D
