Do you have to shutdown computer when testing dif monitors?

Trying a different monitor to see if I can see text and graphics better on it. Do I need to shutdown when switching which monitor is being used? Or can I “hot swap”?

That all depends. Have you already drilled holes in the monitors, or have you not gotten around to that yet?

:D @Thraeg

Jeff, you should be able to hot swap monitors just fine, but double check the resolution after powering on the new screen.

Awesome thanks!

With windows it’s best to log off / log back in to get the DPI settings correct on the new monitor.

(On a fast computer with an SSD log off / in is about as fast as a reboot anyway)
