aranwars(pythium) : No the serpents don´t fight with their machak spider friends, we just payed them a visit early on to say hello, but then jotun´s giants thought that they could actually fight, so my hydras had to prove them wrong.
I sent a scout into C’Tis territory, and all I found were a couple of fortresses with a few dozen telescopes pointing out of each. If you lizards are getting lonely in there, perhaps you could host a sock hop or a banquet! Satyrs love to dance…

I’ve heard about you and your invisible armies. You’d attempt to take over C’tissian lands while we were out dancing.
By the way, is there any way to discover a stealth army? Do you automatically attack if you discover one? Is it true that the bigger the army, the more easily it is found?
I’m sure the answer is something like
2d6-open * Protection / (Air Magic * 0.9) + army size
UNLESS Caelum sprite jorkers are involved
Worldwar (Pangaea) - Found me some unique artifact, “The Tartarian Chains”, but it says the wielder will be attacked by “guards of the Underworld”. Hrm. Anybody know what sorts of nasties are gonna come a-knockin? I may just toss this sucker in the trash heap.

Yes, yes, and yes. More specifically as to the first one, any province with 10 or more PD will self-patrol looking for stealth armies (or scouts). You can increase your chances immensely by patrolling with regular units. Units that are fast or have good precision get a patrol bonus, and some units (like Man’s Foresters) specifically get a patrol bonus as well (listed in their special abilities). Larger forces patrol more effectively than smaller ones.

Brilliantly done. Astral Corruption goes up and a horror immediately eats my wish caster. I have to go it on the few Doom Horrors I already have while I try to empower up another wish caster. Combined with the sudden assaults I’m seeing from all sides I think I’m going to get eliminated.

Oh. My. God.

I’ve been itching to try this spell ever since I discovered blood magic, but I didn’t dare hope it would work so well. This is the kind of stuff that makes Dom2 awesome.
I need to lie down now.

Funnily enough that screen shot also illustrates a (one of many) extremely lazy bugs in Dom2s interface code.
Johan, maybe take an afternoon and fix those stupid bugs that make your game look bad?
But ya, good job Foom, I never realized it was that effective.
It really isn’t a mega doom spell. Astral and blood spells don’t trigger it, so I could have dispelled it safely. The kick is of course that he cast it and it immediately went into effect before I could respond. I only got 1 horror attack, but it was a doom horror and he ate my wish caster. Leaving me with no accomplished astral mages handy with which to dispel . . .

Ashen Angels are what come knocking - the same as you get when someone tries to assassinate one of your guys with Manifestation.
I would not throw it away. If you give it to a commander that can handle Ashen Angels, it becomes a fast-levelling device as he kills one of these baddies every few turns.
Whoooot! Shows that I still don’t know my magic book. I’d never have suspected that you can actually do something about the Doom Horror machine.
Foom, I’d call you my saviour, but, staying realistic, you’ll be my destroyer in the end. Way to go, blood master!

Although to be fair, it sounds like about a 1/100 chance of doing something to the Doom Horror machine.
I for one welcome our new insect overlords.
Yes, yes, and yes. [/quote]
Yay, I got three Yes answers, so I still have 20 questions to go! Thanks for the reply, Rywill. This reminds me of another dom2 bug-thing: when informed that a scout is killed, clicking “Go to province” brings you to your capital. Uh.
QT3-LavaLamp (Caelum)
Wow, I continue to be impressed with Caelum. Those Seraphs are soooo cheap and it’s so easy to get 7-10 of them together to provide fire support. Considering they all can cast quickness, their up-front firepower is huge. My army ran into a red dragon unexpectedly (Marignon’s resurrected pretender) and the seraphs just calmly ignored their scripted spell and piled ~20 frozen hearts on the red dragon. Boom instant red dragon popsicle. It’s going to be hard to run BALUTs or RYWILLs at this me game, as they will need to have full lightning and cold immunity or they drop on the first round.
Of course, I tend to balance things out with silly mistakes. My pretender + prophet were wandering around site searching and AI Marignon sent a token force to attack. The invaders were easily repulsed, but my pretender cast soul vortex and it killed not only his bodyguard but my prophet who was standing right next to him . . .

Where’s that list of possible Dom2 wishes and their effects again? I thought I’d bookmarked it, but can’t find the link.
Edit: n/m, found it:

Ya know, firing squads of mages wouldn’t be so bloody invincible if the tactical AI wasn’t so retarded. One red dragon should have accounted for about half of your mages before you took him down, if not more.
Not in this case. Best he could have done was 1 mage because he died on the second round. I was on the defensive, so I got first action. All my mages cast quickness, then the red dragon got to go. He flew to the backline and chomped someone (wasn’t a mage but could have been). Then all the mages started casting frozen heart at the dragon. They stopped when he died, it was in the neighborhood of 20 castings. I had 15 mages, so they could have gone up to 30 castings if required. I was impressed that the tactical AI showed that kind of smarts because they weren’t scripted for frozen heart.

Note to other Lavalamp players: Nick will win unless you stomp him now. Trust me.

JM Hardcore (Atlantis):
This game has totally sucked for ages. If I were smart, I would take down Sea of Ice and/or set myself to AI. But I can’t bear to do either, so instead I just log in, decide whether I need to alchemize some gems to pay my troops, and log out. Occasionally someone (I assume Rollory) has whacked one of my provinces with that indie undead horsemen spell, so I decide whether I want to take it back. Someone please win this game soon.
Qt3 Hammer (R’lyeh):
Note to self: always check and make sure the game is a force-host one before you sign up. This game is CRAWLING through the very early turns. I shudder to think what it’ll be like once the turns get complicated. I comfort myself by remembering that at the rate we’re going I’ll be dead of old age before then anyway. Plus, I’m totally fucking up anyway, so who cares. I’ve walked my army back and forth from one side of my capital to the other about five times. This is the kind of indecision that handicapped me in Pampelmousse, so it’s got to stop. You guys ever see the movie made from the Batman TV show, and there’s the one part where Batman is trying to get rid of a sizzling bomb and everywhere he goes to throw it there’s like nuns or baby carriages or ducks or whatever? It’s the same for me. I’m like “North! Doh! Swamp! West! Dammit! Marignon! East! Fuck! Arco! Hey, Marignon’s gone AI! Back west! What? New Marignon player! Shit!” etc.
Pampelmousse Redux (Man):
Sent in my pretender a while ago but no word yet. Presumably everyone is too chicken to play against me.
