I had all but forgotten about this ongoing Dom2 game. I guess this was the last of them, which would be much sadder if Dom3 wouldn’t already be in full swing.
Hey, Dave: What does \m/ mean? An ettin waving his arms?
It’s fitting that the originator of the biggest Qt3 thread in history should make some comments at this point!
\m/ denotes someone raising his index finger and pinky finger in the “rock on” gesture… also known as “the horns”.
Hmm - that’s a new one on me.
I don’t have time to write up my version of the game just yet, but the reason we all decided it was time was because none of us felt we could stop C’Tis. Skellie spam and wraith lords FTW!
I’m sure it will be a good write up, so I look forward to it. I’d love to know how you managed to survive in the middle of that map.
Right around turn 30, I was talking to someone about this particular game (I think it was Soapyfrog, playing Jotunheim) and he said, “Can your Sauromancers cast Raise Skeletons yet?” I was like, “No. What’s that?”
So I think I can thank Soapyfrog for my comeback versus Pythium, and the fact that I hung on in a couple of key fortress battles versus Man’s vine ogres.
Oh yeah, in one of those battles, my Wraith Lord decided he would cast spells rather than attack. So he cast a lot of, like, fire flies or some crap, I don’t even know. All I know is that I sat there begging him to swing his sword and whack something with his charcoal shield. Fortunately, he was sitting close enough to the gates for his soul vortex spell to suck life from the incoming vine ogre crowd. I’m sure that was all my fault; I probably gave him the orders to “Fire at Archers”.
Everyone except me :( Am I the only one that got wiped out? One second I’m easily rolling over C’tis and the next second he has hordes of undead rolling back over me. It was quite a surprise. Although I think there was a bad decision to join in on the fight against Marignon instead of finishing off C’tis in there somewhere.
I sure didn’t win though I’m still kinda sorta alive. I am in possession of perhaps the poorest lands in all the world. Seriously, come to Jotunheim and you’ll think it’s Ermor. Slight death scale (and by slight I mean “3”) and constant unluck events (turmoil 3 + unluck 3 anyone?) really made Jotunheim a crappy place to live ;) My capital is down to 8000 pop!!
So much for my short term kill-everyone-with-huge-blessed-giants plan!

You took Death 3, Turmoil 3, and Unluck 3? Oh my god! :)
Hey man, its HARD to get an E9N9 bless…
