Did you do alchemy or have an event give you money? Maybe cancel some recruitment to get some money back last turn? Cheat detector gives false alarms sometimes, which is what happened to you guess.
Sometimes the cheat detector is valuable, as it exposed Rywill’s evil cheating ways in Pampered Moose ;-)

Heh. Yeah, I had it go off after a turn where (1) I got 600+ gold back to my treasury because Le Puma outbid me on some mercs; and (2) I used the Alchemist’s Stone (artifact) to transmute fire gems into gold. The game told everyone I was cheating, which was kind of funny in that both things I did are direct results of interacting with the game itself (i.e., not because someone else sent me a bunch of money or something). It’s like:
“Hello Dom2, I would like to bid 600 gold on mercs.”
“No problem.”
“Do I win?”
“No, sorry. Here’s your money back.”
“Damn. Well, thanks anyway.”
“OMG HAX WTFBBQ!!!11!!”
QT3NoobAran (Pythium): I’m just about out of this game. After trying to take on a pretty advanced Ulm, I’m going to get my ass kicked.
QT3WorldWar (T’ien C’hi): Pretty grim here as well. Caleum is breathing down my neck hard, and I’ve got a very pesky Jotenheim to subdue and pillage. I think I can hold out for a bit, though.

I wasn’t doing anything because i … uh… wasn’t doing anything. I’ve been intercontinent for about a month, and have only recently combined an internet connection and my computer together like peanut butter and chocolate should be.
BTW this game sucks for me. I have lost two (2) castles that were being built to invasions. I made peace with Pangaya because i thought i could resume my construction once i retook that province. An oops that = -400 gold. ROFLmor has 10 dominion and hundreds of castles and temples. D’arcyscephale i defeated in some sort of battle; sadly, i went stale the next turn and never got to enjoy the sweet ambrosia of victory.
ROFLmor? ROFLMOR?!?!?!
That’s it buddy, you are having undead surprise for dinner!
With soulless soufle for desert.
Qt3aranwars turn1:
Yay! my scout made it in the hall of fame and got awesome presence as heroic ability. Might make sneaking a bit difficult though ;).
Qt3-JM-Hardcore. (Ctis)
I continue to preside over my stately collapse. Amusingly the empire that I’ve been at war with the entire game (Man) is profiting very little. It’s mostly Caelum and especially Abysia who blizted my unprotected flank and took much land from me.
Amusingly I killed a fully kitted out wraith lord last turn with only a fairy queen and 3 of her sprites. The fairy queen kept the wrath lord locked in place with ghost wolves and false horrors until the sprites landed enough shots to fatigue out the wraith lord. At that point, death was swift. It was in my dominion too, so the kill was real :D
Qt3-Tiny (Abysia)
Pythium is hitting me back harder than ever and my harassment tactics on Man might not slow him down much longer. This game has definitely taught me the value of not being in 2 front wars.
Qt3-Noob-Aran (Atlantis)
I’m losing underwater castles at a distressing rate. I really screwed up an approached playing Atlantis wrong. I’m trying to turn it around now, but it’s probably too little too late.
QT3-LavaLamp (Caelum)
Caelums base troops are horribly bad at melee. This is my first crack at Caelum and I’m learning some harsh lessons. Might have to try those sacred heavy-armored troops or the elephants next.

We like our Queens to be nubile and pearly, not dessicated and leathery.
And didn’t zombies go out of fashion after the 80’s? I mean you can only have so many Friday the 13th’s.
I watched that battle, it was surreal. In this corner, weighing in with all the fury and fear of hell, is pussucker the wraithlord. The challenger, weighing in at a thimble full of fluff, is Tinkerbell the Fairy Princess and 3 of her lost boys. Ready, FIGHT! Except, nobody did, really…it was all in the wraithlord’s mind.
Qt3-JM-Worldwar (Pangaea) - When I find the spy that one of you planted in Samarkand to cause rebellion I’m going to skin him alive, eat his heart, and use his blood to summon evil agents of Hell to hunt down his boss! So there.
Meanwhile, my summoned paratrooping werewolf and his pack o’ wolves were summarily wiped out behind enemy lines because I wrongly thought they’d stay hidden. What’s up with that? Do they default to Attack instead of Hide when they materialize? bah
Yep, first and foremost the spell’s an attack spell. If you want them to sneak, you got to cast the spell on one of your own territories and traverse the border.
JM-Hardcore(Man): About the Wraith Lord, well… I feel so tired.
It wouldn’t have hurt so much, but I supply my WLs with so many magic trinkets that they’re barely able to stand.
On the other hand, that’s a nice sign that the super combatant still hasn’t taken over all of the game. And finally a situation where those useless faeries make a difference.
Why aren’t you dead yet, Nick?
I pretty much am dead. I’ve lost 80% of my backfield to Caelum/Abysia. If they continue at the same pace, in 5 turns your border with me will be your border with Caelum or Abysia. You really should give up sieging my castle with all the vine ogres in it and just go grab some provinces while there are still some to go get.
Well, I secured some provinces of yours with the arouse hunger spell. Pretty nifty little spell, actually, when you have a high level caster. What can I do about your castles? It’s difficult to just walk over them, especially when it’s full of vine ogres waiting for their revenge when they can trample and burn my back country.
This game - practically a one-on-one during the first 60 turns - was really really fun. Had it in fact been a one-on-one, you would have finally taken me down. Good game, Nick.
Now I’ve got to look how to survive the endgame as long as possible.
Anybody know what happaned to QT3-Ben-Noob? Haven’t seen it in a while and my local files say Last Accessed on 10/5 but I’m not sure if I took my last turn from home. Or maybe I missed a notification?
I am curious who was backing you. I got my globals swatted down too many times for you to have been working that solo, unless you had a huge clam hoard.
No one was really backing me up, but I got some neighborly help by my friends from T’ien Ch’i. I wasn’t able to cast dispel, so I sent them the astral pearls to cast it. I don’t really know if VegasRobb put in some addional pearls of his own… Did you reinforce your globals much? Because I didn’t send very much above the required minimum. But I don’t remember it so well.
Regarding the Well of Misery, the last “dispel” didn’t take me any pearls at all, but lots of death gems. Saving those little buggers all the time helped me a great deal in the end. It’s a nice feature of the game that you can cast the same globals that your opponent has up in order to trump them.
Funny, I was sending astral to Tien Chi also, to get dispels done. I wonder if I contributed to dispelling my own globals?
I just nearly fell from my chair laughing. VegasRobb, if you really did that, you have my everlasting worship.
Yeah, that would have been some good old fashioned back alley diplomacy. Is that what happened?
JM-Hardcore - No comment till the game is over, just to be fair. :)
