Well, to be totally fair, that and Man also went completely dead and stale, which totally removed the value to be gained by leaving you alone for a bit.

People going stale really badly throws off the balance of this game (which shouldn’t be surprising).
Well, since he’s staling so bad there are free provinces to be had which is nice. I’ve grabbed a few (most of my armies are trapped underwater) and I encourage everyone else to also. Once we get Man eliminated then we can speed the game up.

Q23AranWars (C’tis) - Messages have been received and notes sent in hopes on avoiding any mistakes. The Father of Serpents feels he has a perfectly reasonable stance regarding the wars around his children. We hope our neighbors agree.

Q23Tyrande (Man) - I see it has hosted. I’m a little worried about the next few turns as I really don’t want to get into an unnecessary dustup with another Empire after knocking down Ermor. That and I’d like to decommission the 85 Monks running around. :)

Worldwar (Pangaea) - War continues to rage in South America between devil worshipping pagans and holy crusaders. The momentum seems to shift back and forth but Pangaea can no longer watch and wait for a victor to emerge from the ashes. It is time to act! Let loose the dogs of–er, the Vine Ogres of war! (I think now I get to see a couple munchkin SC’s tear through my big, basic army like so much buttah)

AranWars (Machaka) - Pythium and Man didn’t leave me with much before their attention was drawn elsewhere but I’m clawing my back…

Rainbow (Machaka) - Not much breathing room here. Ermor looks like he’s out for the count. Scouts are looking for unclaimed territory.

I figured you were up to something. I’m actually looking forward to seeing what it is :)

Backov-Cradle (Arco): I’m holding my own against Pan, which surprises me since I’m basically still a n00b (nice one with the Wrathful Skies BTW, that came totally unexpected). In other news, my friendly neighbor C’tis went AI which means I’m probably fucked.

Pangaea is using the Carrion Woods theme. Just sayin’.

I’d also like to note that casting Wrath of God or whatever it’s called is a really good way to piss off your neighbors. If Pangaea hadn’t attacked Pythium, I would have.

Remember, Abysia would like to see what you are up to. Ulm is perfectly happy not finding out.

Hark! The Carrion Dragon is at the gate! Protect the Emperor!

If no one minds, I’d like to pause the auto turn on JM Hardcore until Monday morning. No need to hold up Tyrande :(

Fine with me.

Usually a better idea to mail me rather than post that on here :)

QT3-Kraaze (Pythium): This game seems to be dead, just as I was preparing to meet the invading armies of Machaka (North), R’lyeh (center) and Arcoscephale (south). A counterstrike in the south killed off the Arco God, so maybe everyone got scared and didn’t dare to continue the game ;-) I must admit I was facing a loosing 3-front war, but I was looking forward to make the aggressors pay dearly.

QT3-Lavalamp (Jotunheim): Being the nice neighbour I usually am, I was just minding my own business, when I noticed that the very large Empire of Pythium was rapidly expanding my way.
With a continued offensive from Pythium and a total lack of communication I am being forced to go to war.
Lord of Pythium – if you read this then know that you have angered the Giants – we do not anger easily, but when we do, we will put fear into the hearts of our enemies. Prepare for a cold and bloody future!

QT3-AnaxCradle (Caelum): Is this game secret? – it is very rare to read anything from the game in this thread. It seems this game is a powder keg, which can explode anytime. C’tis is amassing a great hoard of Death Gems with a well of Misery which has been up for a long time, and everyone else is building up armies of their own. Mictlan probably has hordes of Devils waiting to swarm the world. After I took over control from Anaxagoras, I have hurried to prepare Caelum for the war that must come soon, while not ready to attack anything – I am slowly getting to a point where I can make it very expensive to take the fight to me. I will anxiously await the great explosion of violence that will surely come soon.

I did both, but I wasn’t sure if the JM auto email was something you checked. Better safe than sorry when the All Father wants your ass.

Qt3jm-rainbow(ermor) : soul gate rocks, I just watched how my lone limping, crippled, chestwounded, weakened wraith centurion prophet won against ~40 tienchi troops(mostly pd though). Not to mention the other battle against quite large PD where my wraithcenturion had 2 or 3 hp left at the end =). Of course that earned him the top spot in the HoF.
Aeroscophaele is still knocking on my door, tien´chi got driven back to their fortress and ulm is busy preaching my dominion away. Very fun game.

Qt3anaxcradle(aeroscophaele) :very boring game, everyone is busy stockpiling stuff, but since I took over few of the unique resources are left.

QT3-Kraaze (R’yleh): We all stopped and realized that there are no winners in war, and that the only real solution would be to agree to peaceful coexistence.

Of course the only way to guarantee peaceful coexistence was to give everyone free frontal lobotomies courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Starspawn. Mmmm, frontal lobes…

Qt3-Backov-Cradle (Pangaea) - I’m starting to think I might lose this pretty soon. Arco has got a masterfully configured anti-undead force just steamrolling right through anything I throw at them, and right now I don’t have any good countermeasures. The Harpy Queen can toss off a Wrathful Skies now and then, but sooner or later she’s going to buy it. Meanwhile Marignon is waltzing around with a devil/banelord force that way outclasses anything I can throw at them; hopefully Ermor can keep them distracted. I still have a few tricks up my sleeve, but if they turn out not to be enough, well, it was a good run while it lasted.

Qt3-FeedingFrenzy (Vanheim) - storm-tossed rocks, peaceful (and lazy) gnome farmlands, and now disease-infested jungles (thanks, RNG, I always wanted my very own Inkpot End), with the occasional high mountain crag lifting above the mists. Some sort of rumor of big bugs to the east.

Qt3-AranWars (Ulm) - Grabbing some ocean provinces before C’tis puts together its own longdeads and gets them first. My border patrols keep picking up foreign scouts every single turn.

Qt3-JM-Hardcore (Vanheim) - Woo boy. The enemy plan becomes clear. Turn after next there is going to be three simultaneous massive assaults on three different fortresses I hold. First, the Abysian capital (garrisonned by Nycafor the Ice Devil, a few soulless, and a few imps), under attack by a Heliophagus and about a hundred miscellaneous Abysian troops. Next, the amazon fortress in Achaku Desert, under attack by what looks like every damn storm guard in the entire world, plus assorted wights, wraithlords, draconians, and maybe some other stuff that’s gotten lost in the crowd - oh yeah, Caleum’s manticore pretender is venturing forth on this attack too. Inside is the Father Illearth, some Vanherses, a few frost fiends and storm demons, and about 10-20 mixed infantry. Finally, in the south my attempts to repulse Caelum’s teleported army have gotten decisively splattered across the sheen of a dome protecting the province, and having built a castle the lizardman and mammoth army has laid seige to a neighboring hill fortress, garrisonned by some feebleminded sages and wounded barbarians.

Either I come up with some really good stuff, and a bit of luck besides, or I’ve started losing this game. We’ll find out which in two turns.

I did both, but I wasn’t sure if the JM auto email was something you checked. Better safe than sorry when the All Father wants your ass.
The auto emailer tells you which email to send to, at the bottom :)

QT3-LavaLamp (Caelum)

Ahh, the plot sickens. People are suddenly sweating the “Last 2 nations are the winners” victory condition. I’m receiving lots of diplomatic contact, apparently people want fragile birdmen on their side. Who knew.

QT3-Hammer (Arco)

Well, my elephants can’t conquer crap. They rout too much. On the other hand, my Virtue pretender has been surprisingly effective at taking provinces solo. Who knew Mirror Image was that good a defense?

QT3-Backov-Cradle (AE Ermor)

What a mess, I feel like I’m standing in the center of a tornado. Right now I’m relatively secure but I have opponents in an all directions who might launch a major offensive at any time.

I’m trying to grab the Pythium capitol to silence the AI harassment, but now that Ctis has gone AI I have another AI neighbor. Gah, I’ll have to conquer them too!

QT3-NoobAran (Atlantis)

Seas of Ice is a great defense for an underwater nation, especially for an underwater nation that can utilitize teleport to circumvent the barrier with their own mages :D

NoobEuropa Pythium - Well that was fun. I really couldn’t have asked for a better starting location. My Hydra’s killed more of my troops than the enemy did. I misused my mercs. Just as I thought I had a stable secure perimeter, Pangea unstealths a ton of centaurs in my interior. He got to my mages 6 research points shy of false horror and as far as I can tell with his starting resources, acro’s territory and now mine, it’s his game to lose. Very nicely done.

AranWars. Man. Could somedy please splain what’s going on here? Dazed and confused, but still standing.

Qt3 Tyrande (Pangaea) - Well, that was disappointing. Stupid Communion.

Qt3 FeedingFrenzy (Jotunheim) - Still trying to figure out these stupid Giants. Much weaker than they should be, IMO.

Qt3 Hammer (Ulm) - Rolling along nicely, but I have a feeling I’m overextending myself here.

Qt3 JM Hardcore (Abysia) - Oof, this is going to get real nasty real fast. Even moreso. Don’t worry, Rollory, Vanheim isn’t the only punching bag this game.

The giants aren’t quite as scary as they look, and they are vulnerable to being swarmed. The real bonus of Jotunheim that I love is that the leaders are brutal if given a little magical equipment. Maybe a ring of regen or a wraith sword and boots of quickness. Jotunheim has easy access to all the magic required for that.

Your main enemy has a Library with a bunch of sages that are upgrading their Ghost King’s spellcasting too quickly for Vine Men to keep up with.
