Just to clarify here, none of the indie poptypes are fixed on this map – at least, I didn’t set any of them, and I was under the impression that indies are generated on a per-game basis. Is this not so? In any case, if you think the lack of those units is a serious disadvantage for C’tis, I can add some to the next version.

A bunch of Ulm farmboys all up and decided today would be a great day for a picnic.

Preferred location: somewhere south of the Utgard border.

Interesting times ahead.

Let that be a lesson to you ;)

Kailasa survives, but as a diminutive client-state possessed of little but an unwavering instinct for survival, and a penchant for hurling fecal matter. And lizard brains. Yum!

I’ll delete your email form the script right away ;)

You do know that youre one of the bigger countries in this game, and that you going ai will have a huge effect on the balance of the game?

I have hosted Squidz by hand, as there appears to be no way to turn him to AI. I will continue to do so, I guess.

They aren’t fixed? Maybe it’s the fixed terrain types or something then, because I had a good sized little empire going at one point in the game and it was like all the same crap. Indie light infantry, indie archers, indie commanders, and indie priests. That was about it.

Maybe I was just supremely unlucky then.

Yeah, I didn’t fiddle with them at all. The only map edits I did were to increase the population of those King’s Tomb provinces so they’d bring in a decent amount of gold, and I added one magic site on Arco’s peninsula. Seems like it was either bad luck, or maybe jungle terrain doesn’t generate spies/archers for some reason. Sorry you got stiffed, in any case.

Bandar:
We may be in for an ice storm - so I cobbled together a quickie turn in case we lose power. If it looks like Agartha is about to stale the following turn (the one that would host Thursday at our present pace), could you turn off the timer?

Hopefully it won’t be an issue - because computer games will be the least of my problems if we’re without power for a few days.

Nice Agarthan army on Bandar! What’s that 200+ Magma Childs? Those things are insanely powerful for such a cheap price. Plus you’ve got 20+ uber mages and a boatload of Ancient Ones along for the ride. That’s a steamroller of the class A variety.

Well, since I don’t have access to a PC with Dom3 installed, and if 10 days or so is too long to turn off the turn timer, I’m willing to turn over my nations to others.

My current nations are:

Qt3 Bandar: Abysia, on the ropes because of the looming Agarthan steamroller, sandwiched between the juggernaut nations of Agartha to the south and west and Tien Chi to the east. The similarly trapped nation of Yomi is ridiculously close by but a mutual ally against Agarthan aggression. Outlook very grim.

Qt3 Androphag: Vanheim, bordered by a strong Ulm, Jotunheim, and Pangaea, but with strong forces of its own and a decent position. Outlook quite bright.

If you aren’t currently in either of those games and want to take over, post in this thread and I’ll PM you the password.

I already posted here, dammit.
PM me your info and I’ll gladly help. I won’t screw things up too badly before you get back :)

I’ll try to remember to look Thursday morning and if you still don’t have a turn in I’ll take the game off timer for a bit.

My nation is easily conquerable at this point. If have no armies except what’s at the giants border (not very big). I have no dominion (a big problem when I picked my creator), and I had no money when I stopped :).

Just start cutting into the nation fast and you’ll be good to go.

I’m definitely not trying to ruin the game for anyone, I’m just overly frustrated with the position and have been talking about going AI for a while now.

Well, Sir Blackfist met his end this month at the sword of Oriax the ice demon general.

I admit I was kinda hoping he’d last a little longer, but it’s an honorable death, gaining vital information, and he was the only warrior in that force worth anything. Let’s hear it for those sturdy Ulmish farmboys who so readily lay down their lives for the noble Counts!

No he didn’t. =) My scout who happened to be in that provinces observed that for your Majesty’s ten pounds of gold noble Sir Blackfist left a puddle 10 inches deep before running away from ice demon.

Oh. Heh. I didn’t watch the end of it. I did kinda figure he’d have the decency to do what he was being paid for. I guess he’s hiding in shame now.

I’m going on holiday from Saturday to Wednesday. Could Shirley and Androphag be taken off the timer?

Ok, after being 7 provinces nation in a completely hopeless position for the entire game, I am finally out. But not before seeing my archenemy Giants who tried to rush me earlier being crashed into fine dust, with my active participation (both diplomatic and military :) )

But now the nation of Yomi has came to its end by the hand of Agartha. The final battle was rather anticlimactic. Agartha got a bit lucky with the engine’s choice of one of the two possible provinces for the last battle. As the result they intercepted me one turn away from their capital with 2 of their armies. (Not that it would matter at the end anyway but I was hoping to pillage their capital for 1 turn if I had my way ;) ).

20 Earth Occales casting bladewinds for 3 turns destroyed 75%+ of my army (which included all mages and soldiers I had left), then the rest of the troops routed, before they could even made real contact with 400 magma children and earth elementals. Oh well, I have expected this last march to be a very short one.

For those nations who remain in game - let it be my farewell warning. Agartha is about to win the game very soon. They are my far the most powerful nation in the game at this point.

The only chance other nations may still have to prevent it from happening would be to if they all unite against Agartha’s juggernaut. So far only Abyssia, Sauromatia and me have tried to oppose Agartha, while more powerful nations have chosen to either sit on their hands or even help Agartha for some strange reason (yeah, looking at you Tien Chi :) ). It may very well be too late already, but in 2-3 turns it will be too late for sure.

As for myself, I am out. I am going to set Yomi to AI next turn, after sending my legacy gems/items to my loyal ally Sauromatia.

Thanks for the good game everyone!

3 games with large empires and micromanipulation has me burned out. Looking for subs.

Shirley - Tien Chi. A good position. At least in 3rd, good diplomatic position, great mages.

Bandar - Rlyeh. This is the largest empire. Good diplomatic position. Typica problems with EA Rlyeh fielding effective armies out of the water.

Lictor - Utgard. Nice bless, one of top 3 nations. Under dual attack, so a tough one (altho a new player might change the situation dipomaticaly).

Who is Ermor in Hoplite and why do you insist on never taking your turn?
