Nick, you still planning on doing that islands map?
I’ve tinkered with it, my real problem is that I have pretty much zero artistic ability. So the actual picture is the hangup :(
I’m up for another game if someone is hosting.
I’ll join in for another game, too, since I’m out of Peltast as well. I outlasted Helheim though, so I consider it a moral victory. ;)
Has anyone actually won a Qt3 Dominions 3 game yet? I’ve not been keeping track of all the games, but some seem to be getting long in the tooth.
I’m working my ass off to lose in the two I’m in and I lost in the squidz game. :)

It seems like a lot of games are petering out rather than rising to a climactic finish. I might be interested in another game if it’s victory point based.
What about a no 'heim game?
Jason any chance for a pallete swap in Dawn of Dominions, putting maybe Abyssia and Marchaka up in the upper Left corner of the map?
Dawn is probably Hetzer’s to lose at this point, as he and a resurgent Ulm batter what’s left of helheim to the north, and Arco breaks out in the south. Perhaps dread Argatha’s putting something together with Ermor, but I see this one going to Hetzer - I don’t think anyone’s going to be able to get up in the corner before he’s able to crank out some nice stuff…
Hoplite has Helheim and (?Vanheim) and C’Tis at the top of the charts, but nothing is clear yet. I’m playing CTis and having an embarassingly tough time with the AI tien chi.
Bommerlunder is paused while I try to get this RMB bug fixed, but looks to start a very interesting phase, with Ermor, Midgard and Ulm at the top of the heap. Man is trying to hold off Midgard, while Ermor and Ulm devour what is left of Jomon. Abyssia just sits in the middle of the map, like a firey Switzerland (albeit with blood summons, which I don’t think the Swiss ever mastered).
I’ve been out of Shirley for some time, so no idea how that one is going.
I don’t know what’s going on in the rest of the Apprentices game, but Atlantis and I continue to battle for dominion (!). I recently lost my God because 5 minotaurs and him couldn’t beat up the angel of death that plagues me for some reason. He retreated…apparently into a bad land and died. He is missed, already the nymphs have retreated further into the forest. My priests work feverishly to call him back, but no one really believes he will be seen in time to save us if the Atlantis threat isn’t held off.
But the war overall goes interestingly. I’ve pushed Atlantis back a bit off my mainland (the south), but they continue to hold a the one lake in the middle of my land and push back on land every time I push them off. Man and couple others watch to see who loser will be and presumably jump on one or both of us.
I have no reports of the battles to north.

Tien Chi is in the north and is cowering before Vanheim I believe. They look scary. I don’t have many water troops so I’m watching you in the south. Especially after you previously whomped me pretty darn hard in my last southern excursion.
And Pangea hasn’t just forced Atlantis off the mainland, they’ve invaded the ocean and pushed Atlantis back somewhat.
It’s easily the most fluid game I’m in.
Androphag: Agartha is crushing hard. The Abyssian-Pangea counteroffensive is off to a rocky start. Abyssia is more like a pestering flea so I hope Pangea can do something more. I think Agartha is going to win barring some strange surprises.
Squidz: Hetzer is probably going to win that one as well. I think Lloyd as Jotun is the toughest opposition. Was the favorite of all my games even though I’ve never been in the running. just having fun battling for survival.
The Mother of Rivers pretender just kicked my ass pretty hard. Watch out for those fire elementals! I’ve wasted so much on trying to grab those “free provinces” as well. Now R’lyeh wants a piece of me.
You scared me but good. I didn’t realize that was a nation with a dock in it and all of a sudden there was this huge army on my mainland with no warning. I threw everything I had at you and got serious about war after that. Before I was still exploring and doing my thing. :P

Heh, really I just hit them from behind while they destroyed me in the front. It helped a lot, changing the face of the battle, allowed me to recover a bit while they took back their water provinces. And they just took down the water mage I had gotten from the mercs list. Now I’m really out of water troops :).
It’s easily the most fluid game I’m in.
Agreed completely. I’m never sure what’s going on, how powerful people are or where the next attack is coming from. Also, I really miss archers. :)
Had to make landfall SOMEwhere. You have any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them.
I think Agartha’s running away with Androphag at the moment. I can’t see how the rest of us can stop him at this point, but we’re not giving up the fight!
Dawn of Dominions is shaking out, and I’m guessing it’ll be a showdown between Vanheim and Agartha with l’il ol’ Ermor squished to a pulp between them.
Of the six games I’ve been playing, I think I only stand a chance of winning Shirley. I have a decent foundation as Ulm right now, but my Dom III skills are not great, and I could very well squander my opportunity.
No time, no time, I’m late, I’m late! But you can go into the .map file yourself and tweak the starting nation #s to your heart’s content!

Well your “thing” was massive, quick expansion throughout the world. I thought I needed to slow you down before you ran away with everything. I’ve played a bit of balance of power this game. I slammed into Midgard and teamed with Atlantis to slow them down. I lost a lot of trrops including a pretender in knocking them off the northwest continent.
Then I hit you and lost more troops in my sad southern invasion. So now I’ve just holed up and defending my borders a bit. Sorry to hear that the water mage has expired. I know that you still have some water provinces so I hope you can make use of them in saving the world from Atlantis! I’m behind you in this conflict! I’m also shocked that Vanheim would steal your gift of health! I support your quest for revenge against Vaneheim after you dispatch Atlantis!

Ahh once more into the propaganda breach? Youre far from beaten and my position is secure at the moment but i dont think that i have won already… I believe Agartha has at least as much power as me…
The brutal part is that I can’t recast, at the moment. My God is gone. ;(
