Escaped attention!! They kicked my sorry monkey ass… I figured after that it was best to leave them there as a buffer, a job they performed admirably until Ulm finally killed them off.

That’s interesting - I also tried to take them out but I lost about 25 helhirdlings, taking out maybe 2 of his 8 air mages. Not exactly Helheim’s finest hour.

Dawn of Dominions

Delicious news! The sneaky army of Vanheim was finally brought to battle at the walls of Naga’s Nest. The Kailasan army, ranks ravaged by disease and exhausted by the disastrous northern frontier battles, drew up in battle formation, defiant and proud, morale bolstered by the presence of the One true God, Monkeyfrog.

A vast wave of glamourized mounted hirdmen swept towards the waiting lines of Bandar apes, and sacred Yavanas and Ghandarvas… Their attack was blunted however by the earthen power of the Yaksha mages and the sheer glory of their sacred countenances, which caused many of the hirdmen to balk at the moment of contact.

The great and powerful Mother of Rivers, Monkeyfrog, rained destruction upon the advancing enemy even as enemy pegasus riders dropped form the sky into the center of the Kailasan formation… their attack was short lived as Vine ogres and mechanical men in the second echelon made short work of them.

After a short struggle, the Van left wing was put to flight and though the right wing held on for awhile longer, the fight was over. The exhausted Vanadrott leaders were butchered, their equipment taken as trophies of the Kailasan victory.

(Edit: in fairness, the Van army had no sacreds and was outnumbered almost 2:1 but hey i’ll take my glorious victories where I can get them ;))

Turn 78 or so…

Caelum, long abandoned by its ruler, their home province conquered first by Helheim, and then taken by Ulm, has finally been completely eliminated. They had one remaining province with half a dozen air mages, that had somehow escaped the attention of both Helheim and Kailassa. Ulm has seen to them.

Turn 78?! That’s like 50 turns longer than I would have expected…

Peltast turn 101 - Sauromatia

War, interminable war… a bloody battle of attrition rages on the Sauromatian-Niefelheim frontier, with only a few provinces changing hands. Abysia cleans up Niefelheim’s western provinces however and it seems the ultimately that the giants are being worn down.

A serious blow this turn for me however… my pretender was devoured by an Eater of Gods. With him went many expensive boosters and my most potent global, the Arcane Nexus. This will have serious repercussions on my war effort, though my stockpile of gems is still large and will hopefully see me through.

Vanheim lives on, the AI having liberated itself and reclaiming it’s traditional lands… I doubt they will last too much longer however ;)

An interesting late game. I havent managed to pull any game-winning strategies out of my hat, at this point it’s just forge and summon and recruit and forge and summon and recruit… my masses against Niefelheims potent Niefel Jarl SCs.

They’re off! Since we didn’t discuss this, I set VPs to 7 - each capitol has a VP and I added 3 more VP provinces; that means you have to control at least half the board and all the bonus provinces, which sounded pretty good to me.

Let me know if you want this changed, as it’s still easy to do before the first turn. The timer is on for 48 hrs for the first 10 turns, as agreed.

You can find your game status here; please note that since this is Late Age (which I haven’t done before), there might be some confusion as to which nation is which (for example, who’d’a thunk it NE is Pangaea, or COS is Marignon?).

I took some good guesses (NE is New Era, COS is Conquerors of the Sea), but lLet me know if you make your turn but the status reflects otherwise.

The server and port are froggyfish.net:8082. May the best god win.
