Why congrats, Ron? I intend to give Argatha a good thrashing! I’m not scared of his massive army of Tartarians and assorted other powerful things :)
Do Pans take their tea with or without? We are the friendly Agarthan Empire, after all.
I’m flattered, but I think that Arco and Pan, with vastly more provinces than I do, and Caelum, who’s just taken out the Giants with little effort, are far more serious contenders for that position.

I just happened to check and the game will host in 3 minutes. Argatha and Sauro need to get their turns in.
My turn was in - I think it was R’lyeh and Sauro who didn’t play.

From Sven Vanson, King of the north,
so agartha made his move, in one fell swoop he got one province and was repelled everywhere else. The only real headache is the airwalked? troop of helheims who try to get their capitol back. The armies to deal with them are expected any day now. So it is finally one glorious war with a mayor nation. A Nation that has done nothing in the last 20 turns or so, so they will have many troops and many gems but will they have the will to win?
We will see! lets get ready to rumble!!!
Sven Vanson
I’m just expanding because there’s no one else nearby right now; haven’t fought a single battle against another player yet. We’ll see how tough I am when someone decides to attack me.
PS. Don’t cross those northern straits, they’re a good border.
BTW, the Tuatha are awesome SCs. :) But the Tuatha/Sidhe themes have a harder time once pushed past their initial capital, in fact i might say they are a bit weak.
I actually think that the Last of the Tuatha Middle Era theme is a bit better than the Tir na n’Og Early Era theme, because of their more flexible troops. Tir na n’Og has essentially one unit type, the spear & javelin armed medium-light infantry, just in three grades of effectiveness. This makes it hard (for me) to compose armies not based around Tuatha SCs.
Tuatha are probably better SCs than Vans because they can get a water pick for Quickness, although Hellheims are probably the best overall still.

Hey old Winterman, where you be a 'going?
Huffing and a 'puffing, reaping but not sowing?
Those old cold feet shuffling towards bright green pastures?
Where clear bright sun will melt all your beards.
Why aren’t you sleeping, back with your fathers?
Back get you to your long icehomes! Back to your dark lonely woods!
Before spring goddess rises and turns you to puddles!
Banefire: gotta go away for 6 weeks without the laptop (the horror…), so does anyone feel like subbing on Caelum?..

Well, that was fun. I’m ready to resign, if everyone agrees. Thanks to everyone for playing and congratulations Ron.
Thanks for the game, everyone. It was great fun, with lots of interaction and diplomacy. That really helped keep up the interest in a game that lasted just short of 7 months.
I’ll write up a bit of an AAR tomorrow.
…in the early age of hoplite, the giants tore down the ancient bonds between us and enslaved the caelum, but the caelum did not forget, and with the rise of the raptors they tore off their shackles and tossed the odious odin, son of niefel to the carrion birds that we keep as our pets…

We did not. We just took a province. And came to regret it ever after.
Is that official, there’s a winner and all others eliminated?
I just want to know if I should shut the game down :)
Way to go attacking the very large giant empire.
Of course, the question for the last few turns is, who isn’t attacking Niefelheim? I find this an interesting practical demonstration of the reason a player shouldn’t get too big too fast without solid diplomatic agreements with their neighbors. They start looking like a priority target to everyone else. I thought I was being ballsy attacking someone that big and lo and behold I see you rampaging in his backfield already and hear rumors that the giants are engaged on other fronts as well.
well i was a bit twitchy about the giants after being well and truly pooped on in hoplite, so sorry about that. still, and ironically, how about subbing caelum for the next 6 weeks or so?
Yep - you can stick a fork in it.
Thanks again for hosting - awesome job. I’ll miss the grand exploits of the littlest ninja :)
The Nerlferherders got REAL big, REAL fast. I didn’t really want to attack them, but things just sort of worked out that way. Now i’ve got an avalanche of angry Giants pouring into my country; mainly because i made a tactical mistake and continuted to advance my smaller invasion detachment even though i had no scouts ahead of my advance, which i think spurned their Jarls or Jaws or Yarls or Karls or whatever the stupidheads call themselves, to attack me headlong. My luck ran out and many veteran warriors were utterly demolished when i ran headlong into a beehive of buzzing Neifels. I have horrifing paucity of scouts in my Easter territories (although my Western side is better equipped.)
My advance forces in the South are probably not long for this world, being made up of enthusiastic patriots (free militia) so unless there is an unforeseen twist of fate i highly doubt i’ll be much more than a passing wind down there around you. Although, who can tell? :)
Fork appropriately stuck. I’m down to only one game on my server, I may have to start recruting for another now.
Oh and the ninja, he shall miss you too:
