Heh heh and your even still in it ;)
Yeah, color me surprised. Maverni bailed me out of my early mistake of starting a war with Pan. Of course, Maverni got all the profit from that war and all I got was a respite but it was enough to let me build up forces and attack the giants. The war with the giants is going much better though I still can’t drop their prophet.
Oh, big apologies to Tien Chi and Maverni for the provinces my army grabbed while it was running from the giants. I had to link up two armies to counterattack a large giant force so my armies made a straight line for each other through whatever provinces were handy regardless of who owned them.
Aha. You said it was ‘online’, and I thought that meant it would be accessible, just that the turn wouldn’t be processed. Okay. :)
Bommerlunder - Death of Jomon
Jomon is no more. Unfortunately I am not receiving my own turn alert emails (is anyone else? I hope so.), so I wound up staling the last few turns and didnt get to see the death ride of my army.
Alas. I am sure they took a few undead with them, but a glance at my final position show my last three forts literally packed with undead in unbeleiveable numbers…
I would have liked to bequesthed my remaining stuff to someone but it’s too late now. Good luck to the rest of you!
Oh and I took the timer off Bommerlunder til Tuesday.

We understand. We hope you also understand the concept of debts, and of their repayment. We’ll cash that token in someday…
In any event, best of luck against the Man Mountains!
No worries. My Palankashas are gentle and sensitive souls and they would be deeply distraught and moved to tears if we did not some day repay our transgression.
Just don’t invite me to a flesh feast. I know what you’re up too! Soilent Green is people!!
Sorry to see you gone Soapyfrog. Thank you for playing and for hosting our game.
Hmmm, now I have to deal with Ermor all by myself. The first tidal wave of 7000 (!) undead in 4 armies just smashed through my first line of defences without much troubles. I better come up with some efficient countertactic quickly.
And I don’t like that quickly growing pile of Ulm troops on my western borders. I am sure they are there simply to break walls of Man’s castle, right? Right?..
So, either Ermor or Midgard want to comment on this one (or anyone else)?
In one of the few provinces I still have a scout in, the following battle went down Midgard attacking Ermor. One Midgardian Arch Devil SC, with some very nice equipment, vs. 1000+ random undead chaff. 50 turns of the undead trying, but failing to hurt the Archdevil, who killed off a few undead each turn, while others caught fire in his firey aura. After 50 turns, the attacker routs, right? (I didn’t count the turns, but I think that’s the limit). Yet, when I look at the province (I still have a scout there), on the strategic map the province is Midgard’s, with a few priests. There were no priests in the battle that I saw. So, what happened here? Did the SC arrive as a spell, and if so, how did the bloody priests show up, if the attacker routed? Wouldn’t the undead horde have remained in the province? Any thoughts on what happened here?
PS Midgard’s got me just about finished. Nice work, Stormy.
I wish I knew what happened because that isn’t the only location where I got screwed like that. Oh well, probably another bug related to too many units :p But have no fears, Midgard is going down one way or another! The Horde will reign supreme!!!
Sure, I can comment on what happened. You are correct - after 50 turns my archdevil (who teleported to that province to damage one of the invading armies) routed due to time limit, after killing about 500 out of 1500 undeads and getting a chest wound for his efforts. The remaining undead horde continued its march north and conquered another province of mine. But my 3 priests from neighbor province moved in the area where the first battle occurred, and since nobody was there they took it.
PS Midgard’s got me just about finished. Nice work, Stormy.
Thank you. You put up a good fight as well, your vampire lords with lvl 9 battle magic had me very worried.
No, it was simply the lack of garrison troops/PD in that province, that’s all.
Good start of blitzkrig compaing Ermor, my congratulations. In 2 turns 10 of my eastern provinces have fallen to the undead juggernaut, the walls of 2 of my castles have been breached. And the slaughter of my 17 priests on southern border together with supporting border army was painful.
But I think that perhaps you are trying to bite too much too quickly, splitting your 4 initial hordes into too many smaller armies while not providing them with strong mage support to deal with my SCs. Let’s see if I can do something about it this turn. >;)

I had a battle a little while ago where I stormed a castle with 2 golems, one or both of which had an elixir of life. They were killed, came back to life, and killed everything else, ending the battle. However, they had disappeared, and I couldn’t find them the next turn! Is this related to the elixir of life, or something else?
Oh, that happened in the Dawn game, didn’t it? I think it was because your army routed, but the Golems fought on (because they were berzerk? Mindless?). Oddly, a few of my svartelves survived that battle, despite the fact that your golems killed off every visible unit in the castle. Some sort of buggy behavior, I think, but maybe someone else has a rational explanation for it.
The giants are starting to get hurt badly on all fronts. Looks like Tien Chi is moving some very large armies in from the west and the tide has turned in the east. Instead of giant armies pursuing my remnant forces now my armies chase giant remnant forces.
On a completely unrelated topic, anyone of the other nations in Lanka have the ability to forge a death magic boosting helm? I’ll pay pretty good for one. Lanka has a lot of death magic and death mages but I’ve been really unlucky with my random picks and can’t seem to get a mage above D2. With a skull staff I can boost them to D3 but I can’t find a way to get anyone to D4 without empowerment and I’d rather not waste the gems on that.
I’m really lusting after drain life and some other D4 battle spells so I either need to buy a death boosting helm from someone or else bite the bullet and empower.

Banefire
Er, I may not have posted a followup, but Banefire is back up :) I may or may not have put it on the timer; I’ll have to check when I get home.
Yeah, I can’t see everything that’s happening, but I have yet to find any resistance even after having taken 10-20 Giant provinces.

Lanka"“Yeah, I can’t see everything that’s happening, but I have yet to find any resistance even after having taken 10-20 Giant provinces.”
Heh. Some folks have clearly benefited more from the death throes of the giants. Others have carried more of the load.
Squidz is dead, right? There was talk in here about shutting it down and nothing was ever definitively stated, then I couldn’t reach the server for a few days. And then I wiped my harddrive and reinstalled the OS but I haven’t reinstalled the game yet. I’m not holding anything up, am I?
