Err, doesn’t that mean I’m winning our little brush war?

Only if you could dry my warcoffers… and i dont want to know how many gems you had spent for your little disease demons…

0 gems, disease demons cost blood slaves. And believe me those things are easy to come by.

So does the smack talk mean that Mictlan is easy pickings in Magister? Should we all charge in to get a piece before supplies run out?

I want a rematch (I was Pan in Bandar). I remember those damn disease demons. Not to mention all the other blood crap.

My problem is that by the time I get home, these games are full. Any way to reserve a spot for the next one? Any plans for a new game?

I have a new strategy that relies on kindess, diplomacy, and goodwill. More in tune with the nature loving, wine swilling theme of Pan :)

Yeah, I’m pretty much hamburger at this point. Jump on in before Rlyeh gets it all.

Yet again I’m done in by my insane over aggressivenes in the early game phase. I thought a strategy of dual blesses on acquatic troops from a land nation (Mictlan) would catch Rlyeh by surprise and I could finally bum rush someone.

Now recruiting for new game, to be called QT3-Jeff.

Era Early
6 players.
Game on default settings except renaming allowed and score graphs off.
Map TBD

Players

  1. Nick Walter – Oceania
  2. Jeff01 – Pan
  3. Greatatlantic – Giants
  4. Idar – Ulm
  5. ron – TBA
  6. Hetzer – Teh Vanheims

There’s such a thing as over-aggressiveness? (I know you guys argued about it around 40 pages ago, in the context of Nick rushing Kailasa in Dawn. Still, I would have thought that with a proper build and nation, an early offensive would be king.)

Groovy! Pan, of course! Thanks, Nick.

Well the problem is that of course the proper way to play the early game phase is to expand switfly, be cautious of other players, and be oh-so-friendly diplomatically. Success in dom3 doesn’t come from beating all your neighbors up at once, it comes from making sure your neighbors will join you in carving up one poor victim.

Hmmm… I’m in another game in the Shrapnel forums right now, but with the level of talent/min-maxing there I don’t think I’m long for that game. So, I’ll join your little game Nick. What’s more, I’ve been trying to write a Strategy Guide for Neiflheim(sp?, the giants anyways) for a couple days now. So, I’ll try them. As for maps, I’d recommend Ilzgot again. There’s just something about the random distribution of territory types that makes for fairer multiplayer. Also, with my adjustments the starting positions are relatively equal.

Still, if somebody isn’t in a game right now I’ll give up my spot to them.

Ooh, me me, if OK. If I can join, give me Ulm.

QT3:Jeff In, please. Nation tba.

hmmm if there is a place free i would join, i want to try vanheim… that would be my third game at this point so if there is anybody who wants to play and does not have a game i would step down of course…

edit: Ninjaedit

Actually, change me to Tien Chi, if possible.

Hey nick,

once more into the breach? but this time only with chaff and a prophet? you know that late age rlyeh isnt the pushover than early rlyeh? i have much more chaff than you ;p

The real madness of Late Era Ryleh isn’t it’s vast hordes of insane chaff, it’s sorting through dozens of provinces constantly resetting every single commander with the correct orders. I think the nation is just an endurance test to drive the player insane :).

The problem is that when an insane commander performs an action, like “call god”, and then the next turn this commander is sane again, he won’t revert to a “defend” default stance that you can find with the N hotkey. You have to go through and manually check each and every commander every single turn if you want to be 100% efficient. It’s like LA Ermor only 5x worse…

Well, the mainenance sounds tedious, but the chaos sounds fun. I haven’t tried Ryleh yet. I may have to do so next game.

Dammit, already full!? Let me know if somebody drops out.

pfft chaff commanders can do what they want in their idle time… even mad commanders fight and they dont move to another province…
