OK C’Tis. What are you up to? Do you want a war? Because that can be arranged. Just ask Ulm how that went for him. Are you looking for just a couple extra provinces? I’m sure we can work something out. Does the castle intimidate you? Don’t worry, its just there to gaurd a special magic site. Now, unless you’re after more war then you can handle, I’d highly suggest you figure out a national strategy that doesn’t involve attacking my territories.

That’s cool. I guess its better that I become available earlier as oppose to later.

Edit: Oh, and is there any chance of getting an early peak at the map?

Too bad, a game full of stealthy nations would be a real hoot.

(not that I blame you - I would never want to play EA Ulm).

I’m back and want to play again! GuildBoss, Johan, Matt, etc.? I’d offer to host but I really can’t. But I’m happy to organize it.

I’m happy to play in it… :)

There is a patch in the works, so we might want to wait with starting the game until after it has been released. There are some bugfixes as well as a helping of new spells, units and nations, as well as a few updates of graphic and some tweaks to some nations and units.

Dude’s DSL line is down indefinitely according to his ISP/phone peeps. He requests that you take magister and banefire off the timer, if you would be so kind. He expects this will only last a day or two. He will have me keep you posted as the situation develops.

peas and carrots.

Any idea when it drops? I’m for waiting if it’s not, ya know, next year.

The OsX version of it is being tested. If no bugs shows up this is the version that will be used. There is currently no PC version being tested though, because of some hardware shenanigans. But hopefully it will be done within 2-3 weeks.

Lanka update:

Maverni stands alone. Despite the betrayal by R’lyeh, Maverni is holding on venturing into the ocean and continuing a WWI type slogfest with TC. Multiple provinces exchanging hands, commanders dying in droves. Nasty stuff.

And now the Lanka-Maverni fight begins. I’d love to hang on for some more Mav lov next patch, but doesn’t look likely. Unless TC or R’leyh wants to do something different, Lanka will win rather easily. Lanka has the most provinces, the most troops, blood magic and has no one opposing them. But given the TC-Maverni grudge match, it doesn’t seem likely that an accord will be reached and Lanka will triumph fairly easily.

Nice try, but I think you are a bigger threat than me and you won’t convince TheSelfishGene and Hetzer otherwise. There’s a reason we are all gang beating you, not me ;-)

I think you singlehandedly have like 80% of the elemental royalty and a good chunk of the artifacts.

"Nice try, but I think you are a bigger threat than me "

Nope. You have killer globals up and can drop astral corruption and ensure that you’re the only one who can do magic. That removes R’leyh from the game since they have nada in land troops.

While I have some of the royalty up, they’re doing way too quickly. You have all the demon princes…and about 3000 undead troops.

Actually I’m much shyer on demon princes than I’d like to be. No complete sets on Arch Devils or Heliophagii. I’ve got no water magic at all period so no ice devils for me either :(

Those are fair game for anyone who can put together some blood and water magic.

As for my globals, I must admit Gift of Health is really sweet. The looming darkness one though was a huge disappointment. What a waste of blood slaves that was. So far it’s done about squat.

“As for my globals, I must admit Gift of Health is really sweet. The looming darkness one though was a huge disappointment. What a waste of blood slaves that was. So far it’s done about squat.”

Dude. You’re missing the awesomeness of looming hell. It’s a killer defensive spell. How can anyone invade you with a conventional army? Let’s say you get attacked by a 55 man unit headed by an army. Every turn the commander will get attacked by his troops with a demon escort. This makes it hard to attack you with conventional troops (and it’s not fun seeing trolls attacking their commander like has happened to me).

So you have yourself some good protection vs SCs in blood magic and awesome protection vs conventional armies in looming hell. If you combine that with astral corruption you basically lock down all spells from opponents.

As someone who has to deal with looming hell, it’s given me a new insight to the power/advantages of a blood nation.

The problem with looming hell is that you need a strong dominion and I lack that except right around my capitol. Most of my empire lies outside my dominion. I’ve only in the last few turns started an aggressive temple building program to fix that.

So, is Jeff still going to happen, or we waiting for the patch or something. If the latter, I’m thinking about changing my pretender design, if that won’t be a problem.

Change it up as you will. I got unexpectedly thrown into crunch mode this week at work, so I haven’t had a lot of time to get the game going. Apologies to all for the delay.

Yeah, its easy to hold on when i stale a turn… ;)

Can’t we all just get along? Maybe we should agree to a 4-way tie…gods and men and monkeys and evil fishes, living together!

Bottom of Page 2 of Games? What a shame.

I should be back and ready to play my Hoplite turn tonight. I’ve been… away. Sorry about any slow diplomatic responses.

Hoplite is in a very interesting spot right now on turn 76 (I’m playing Ctis). There are 4 main empires left, arranged like this on the four quadrants of the map:

Abyssia | Vanheim

Ctis | Helheim

Ulm is still hanging in there as a minor power, wedged between Vanheim and Helheim. Abyssia wiped out the survivor (Lanka) of the Monkeywar between Lanka and Kailassa a few turns ago, though Ctis did take out the actual last monkeyfortress. Ryleh has succumbed to Helheim in the Eastern Ocean and Ctis in the Western Ocean, with some skirmishing under the sea for the last few Ryleh provinces between Ctis and Abyssia. Helheim’s raids on Abyssia have been rebuffed, though with some losses on Abyssia’s part. Ctis is leading most of the graphs, but not by an overwhelming margin. Abyssia just switched globals from Astral Income to the spell that gives you phantom defence in every province, while Vanheim owns 3 of the remaining slots, with Forge of Ancients, and two other gem producing globals, which seem robustly cast.

Not sure what’s going on the eastern side of the map, but Vanheim and Helheim seem relatively peaceful with each other, poor Ulm sandwiched in between. Tartarians have been sighted in the East, and Abyssia has fielded some demonic SCs. All told, we’ve got four well developed, late game empires looking at each other from across the water, and how it shakes out is going to be interesting. Will it go 3:1, 2:2 or shake out in some other way? I wonder if it will go the way Dawn of Dominions did, with one power (Argatha in that case) sitting out the slugathon, and then wiping out the remnants, but that’s just a guess.

Gentlemen, place your bets…
