Nice summary!

I’d add that C’tis and I don’t border each other, so we wouldn’t be able to join in a 3:1 beatdown on the other – and 3:1 is risky anyway, both because it encourages the guy on the losing end to do as Nick once threatened to do and throw up a Burden of Time/Utterdark/etc as a last, nothing-to-lose “eff you” to everyone else ,and because I imagine that it would encourage a lot of paranoia amongst the 3.

For a few turns I’ve been watching Abysia pulling out all the stops, finally splurging his accumulated gem stockpile (he’s had great income throughout the game), and summoning Ether Warriors (90 astral pearls!!!), Troll Kings, and other expensive units, joining his horde of archdevils and demon lords. Helheim has been sending in expensive commanders, but his units mostly seem to be his B team – there’s plenty of scope to escalate, not least by sending in those Tartarians you mentioned.

I don’t think a ‘one person waits for everyone else to falter’ scenario is likely. Helheim has been hinting that he’ll go after me if I try to do that, and I don’t see why he wouldn’t do the same to C’tis. Besides, we have an even number of major powers left: letting two guys get away with a 2v1, say, before jumping them, just lets them digest their conquests.

Also, “robustly cast”, eh? Has someone been trying to dispel them? :)

Ooo, we’ve got some fireworks now. I know, because I cast them :)

Maverni is doing impressively well considering he’s now fighting every remaining faction. Well, except Abysia but I don’t think they count anymore with their whole one province. But props to wahoo anyway for a spirited defense!

Big apologies to my wonderful allies in Tien Chi. We both tried to jump the same Maverni army last turn and ended up having our armies fight instead. Impressive force you put together there, certainly chewed up my undead raiding party quickly enough. I lost nothing that’s not easily replaceable and hope you didn’t either.

I must say it’s refreshing to send my disease demon assassins after Maverni targets. Abysian bodyguards were so effective at repelling them and I don’t even want to talk about disease demons vs abominations. Disease demons vs Maverni troops is a much better matchup. This last turn one of my disease demons took out a Maverni fire lord and his five bodyguards no problem. I expect me and my assassin pals are going to have a field day with this war.

P.S. Any chance I could get you to confirm how many commanders I killed last turn wahoo? I think I may have set a personal record.

So… I was going to play my turn with an hour or so left and I can’t connect. Anyone else having troubles?

I would place my bet with Vanheim in your Hoplite game. Forge of the Ancients is, perhaps, the most powerful global in the game, right up there with Arcane Nexus.

I think Lum’s reset the timer, so you’ve got another 96 hours or so to do the turn.

Also a bit of advance warning - I’m going to be away for a week without internet connectivity the week after labor day.

Lanka:

Nick, I think you killed 2 with disease demons then I let one get poisoned. Rather unfortunate that. then 1 died in the fight

So sorry to hear about the TC/Lanka tiff. Wish you had done more damage to TC though.

This game is swiftly going to Lanka as I’m hurting the other 2 nations but Lanka is getting all the good land and taking no damage.

If wahoo/Maverni falls, Nick walks away with it… As wahoo and I both mentioned when he and TC were romping up on me/Abysia, Nick is the power in that game…especially now.

What, you mean the firebolts and seeking arrows killed no wizards at all? That doesn’t sound right.

Um, last turn you took one more province from me than I took from you. So that’s hardly “getting all the good land” if I’m net losing turf.

“What, you mean the firebolts and seeking arrows killed no wizards at all? That doesn’t sound right.”

I’ll check again. Haven’t really looked at too much of the turn other than the strategic position. More concerned with R’lyeh than you right now.

“Um, last turn you took one more province from me than I took from you. So that’s hardly “getting all the good land” if I’m net losing turf.”

My invading army: 1 priest, 1 fire mage, 20 flagellants. who just ran into about 200 undead so they won’t last long.

Lanka’s invading army: 400 undead, 20 demon knights, flying demons, demons that throw lighening and other crazy stuff I haven’t seen. Oh and a few other demon princes.

Somehow, I don’t think that my invading army will last long not with you throwing seeking arrows. And didn’t realize the firebolts were from you. intersting.

We both know (as does anyone else who can see like R’lyeh) that you have massive amts of troops/mages and I have nothing to oppose you.

What can I say, I picked up Abysias capitol so suddenly I have all these fire gems and not a dang thing to do with them.

Also, was that you that got me with ghost riders last turn? That takes some serious death magic to cast so I’m pretty impressed.

“Also, was that you that got me with ghost riders last turn?”

Who me? Why would you think that? You didn’t need that temple anyway.

How many capitols do you have now? Mictlan, Abyssia, Lanka? Sure you’re not winning this game?

Says the guy who has had his own capitol and Pan’s for most of the game ;-)

Also I believe you recently added the giant capitol to the list in your pushback of TC.

QT3-Jeff:

Still waiting on pretenders from Idar and Hetzer.

Oh fuck, totally forgot you, sorry man will work one out and follow up in short time…

Sended you my pretender… it is a little bit fastmade but you know the old saying… a decision is best made between three breathtakings.

Give me moment and I’ll send you my replacement.

Haven’t checked my mail in a while, sorry. Sent it now.

Xykon calls dibs on Mictlan’s capitol! R’lyeh and C’tis already took all the rest anyways.

Who is xykon?

Have fun (assuming you like D&D, or at least making fun of it)
