I don’t think a new turn was suppose to host until this evening, which means Hetzer got on. Or, I’ve lost track of time.

Hey im back… what could i say… wow my position is a little weak now, but ill be back…

And as an explanation i could say only one thing… Women! Oh why Oh why didnt adam paid the real price… :(

It occurs to me I sent a message to Tien Chen when I actually wanted to send a message to Tir 'na go. Apologies.

TC- Right now I think we should divide territories like the gold miners did, first come first serve.

Tear No Goh- See that river? Its our border except for Stonehenge (the most northward province on your side of the river, touching that lake up north.

Pan- You have some explaining to do. Or don’t, but am awfully curious about your one territory national plan.

I was hit with the event where you lose some percentage of your population and your unrest increases, on turn 1 and turn 2. I went from a population of 30k on turn 1 to a population of 18k on turn 3 with an unrest of 185. I played poorly and lost my first battle with independents and most of my army.

So, I had to lower my taxes for the unrest to decrease enough to recruit and it took several turns, longer than I thought it would. I could have played this better maybe, but I lowered my taxes to 10 (I had to generate some income to pay the upkeep on what troops I had).

You showed up just as my unrest went to 0.

I took Misfortune 3 and I guess that’s the price. This was easily my worst showing in any game I’ve ever played. Not even close, actually.

Thanks for the game Nick and good luck everyone :)

I was wondering why the population was so incredibly low. 3-death doesn’t do that much damage in a dozen turns. People on the Shrapnel forums always said combining death and misfortune scales was a bad idea. Now I see why. Ouch!

ouch!

Ah, I see, confused the hell out of me for a while :). Well, I’d rather you didn’t advance furter west in the north, all the same. We’ll be going for the same territories then, and we’ll almost certainly attack each other at some point. Sending PM with suggestion.

I believe you missed his point. What he meant to say was: “my giants can whip any of your expansion armies, so I don’t care if we clash.”

But that might start a war :/

Lanka

Getting horror marked because you held a Tome of High Power?
One Turn

Equipping your Pretender with several unique items and several 9 Conj bodyguards?
Hundreds of Gems

Holding second place in the Hall of Heroes?
200 kills.

Dying because a Hunter of Heroes horror attacks your Pretender and her bodyguard fucking ROUTS? And she just retreats and DIES?
Priceless.

Ouch man.

If it makes you feel better, I guarantee my losses to horrors have been significantly worse than yours over the course of this game. I’ve lost two heliophagii, one arch devil, and countless well equipped lesser mages to horrors ever since I had the fricking bright idea to protect my key provinces with the dome of corruption. That spell needs to have a big fat “WARNING NEVER CAST THIS SHIT” added to its description.

P.S. Did your pretender get horror attacked because you tried to cast something at one of my domed provinces? I’d at least like the satisfaction of knowing the damn domes did something beyond eating my mages.

Nope. Actually according to the description Dome of Corruption causes feeblemindedness to incoming mage traffic 75% of the time.

Dome of Corruption is supposed to increase the magic scales in a province though. If you have, for example, a Sage factory somewhere, it might be useful. Going from -1 to +2 RP could be a pretty big boost.

It wouldn’t be worth it even with with +3 magic scale. It generates two horror attacks a turn pretty reliably and often one of them will be one of the big horrors, not the little lessers. I’ve got my key global maintaining casters tucked under the domes to protect them from harm but they need elite bodyguards and a constant supply of blood slaves to survive the attacks. I long ago gave up on my keeping my line researchers under the domes and trying to guard them. I scattered them instead and have a few researchers everywhere. It’s sort of nice because they can act as extra firepower in a pinch if one of my important provinces gets raided.

hohohoho a dome of corruption of all things… the only thing that i could think of is to raid a homeprovince… cast it and flee…

Well, probably, but I REALLY, REALLY don’t want a war right now. Giants are expensive, you know. And if I really did think my giants were all that and a bag of pain, I would have sent him a map with territories highlighted with the words MINE, DON’T TOUCH! Instead, I just say first come first serve for the moment. Meanwhile, up north, I’ll take your suggestion. I took 130 and will start expanding elsewhere.

Hehe, good thinking. It would be great an offensive spell. Too bad you can’t cast it remotely. It’s more the sort of thing I would wish on my enemies than myself.

144, you hopefully mean. Anyway, glad to hear we could work it out amicably :)

Damn those longbowmen are killing me time and time again… and arrow fend and storm are air spells not my type of spells what to do? Hmmm i will try far attacking spells i dont think that his really huge armies of longbowmen are going anywhere as they are deep in my dominion… his leaders and troop should be insane by now… any other suggestion?

You should be able to easily mind hunt those bastards.

Insanity on troops is a bit … hmm. Broken? It doesn’t do ANYTHING. Just a -1 att/-1 def would have been appreciated. Insanity only matters to the leadership apparently. I would have liked to have seen some chance that when a troop reaches over 50 insanity (or some threshold) it has a chance to become mindless, but lose some att/def/prec. Just something

Normal troops
“Men, by the power of our god, attack the infidel!”
“Huzzah! Huzzah! We follow your commands!”

Insane Troops.
“Go get 'em drooly boyz!”
“Er., what? We have this little head icon. It looks pretty cool, really, but whatever. You feel any different Bob? No, i don’t either.”

QT3-Lanka.

So are people thinking my hordes of undead are just a bluff? I’m amazed anew every turn that I keep piling on the undead against my foes and nobody is countering with priests. Last turn a small raid force of about 30 undead took down an entire Maverni army including an abomination and multiple wizards because the army had no priests and the casters weren’t scripted with undead counters. I couldn’t believe it, that force was supposed to have been a suicide probing force.
