Yes, I got an email from them… it strikes me as very strange. I can’t get Dom3 through totalgaming.net… but Stardock is offering me a discount on a product from another publisher? Why? What’s in it for Stardock? Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like this before, where I’m offered a discount on something by someone other than the person selling that thing… one of life’s little mysteries, I guess.
I got the Stardock email as well, and have been considering picking this up for sometime, largely based off of the Tom vs. Bruce for it (if I remember correctly) and this thread. I don’t really understand much of what the game even is, though – is there a good place to get a really good synopsis of what Dominions 3 is?
I got an email from both of them – each offering a discount on the other’s game. They’re just taking advantage of each other’s advertising/customer network.
I’m not exactly “inexperienced” with Dominions, having maybe a dozen Dom2 MP games under my belt but I can count my victories on one hand…a fingerless hand, that is. Well, unless you count my team win in my first MP game ever.
It’s also been nearly 2 years since I’ve played with the exception of a few hours tinkering with Dom3 when I first got it.
It was nice to see in the email that Bruce’s work on the manual is now a marketing point.
