Good thinking. You might want to accelerate your Tir smacking efforts since he’s getting three way gang banged and won’t last long. Grab some territory while you still can!

Tir na’ N’og is a pretty hard faction to play despite having quite above-average infantry. This above-average infantry is expensive, and they have three tiers of the exact same unit, and the upper tiers are not 2-4x better than the lower tier unit per cost.

The secret seems to be to take a water-bless and turn your Ri into straightfoward mini-SCs, ala Niefelheim’s Neifel Jarls. Ri can rack up huge, huge, kill totals with the right combination of quickness, items, and bless.

Nice try to paint me as weak. Despite your phenomenal opening gambit, I’ve taken back almost every province, and have also managed to snag a couple of yours. It is true that when you gather a mass assembly of air mages (10+), you managed to beat small forces of Neifel giants. Guess what? They’re yesterdays news, potent enough that you can’t raid with small armies any more forcing you to only attack with a large groupings. That means my territories stay mine. Meanwhile, the real war engines are my thugs, which just so happen to be made shock immune. Oooops. One of these days your mages will run into one or several of them, and that will be your armageddon. You can only hide from what you can’t beat for so long.

Soon, when ever somebody says Big N, they won’t be refering to Nintendo.

Oooh, this sounds like the right game for me. If there’s still room, I’d like to give it a try. I suck though, only having played single player thus far, and badly at that. On the bright side, because of my incompetence I don’t have a preference towards a particular nation :)

Well, the game I was playing out of the Shrapnel forums is pretty much done. One player has the entire game under wraps, and everyone else besides him and me went AI. So, if Nick or Marcin are willing to host, I’ll organize another game here provided there is interest. I think I’ll try to make another unique random map pruned for wonky starting positions as well.

So, anyone interested?

I think I could make the time for this. Though I haven’t even looked at any of the patches for months, so I have no idea right now what race I’d play.
