Since there’s another game coming up and lots of new players wanting to join this one, I’ll give up my spot in this one.
If no one has any complaints, I’d like to play in both… I figure I can just as easily lose in two games as one.
Unfortunately I granted to wahoo the rights to organize the two remaining game slots on my rather feeble server. I don’t want to go above four games so I can’t offer hosting right now. Hopefully Marcin can.
I’d like to play in a game whenever my copy arrives. (I’ve just ordered it.) I’m newer than new, having not played it ever, but I sure as hell can talk a good game. So, that’s something.
If any of these games’ll have me, I’m in!

If that second game gets going, I’m not opposed to having the crap stomped out of me.

Hmm i think i´m installing dom3 on my new puter and im ready to go for a new game… so count me in
Dave Perkins was looking to get in this one. I’ll PM him.
I actually want Agartha. I’ll get my pretender to you ASAP. thx
Thanks, GuildBoss! So, can I still get into this game?
I’ve played Dom3 exactly once, and I was Tien Chi. So if the game’s about to get started, I think I’ll just go with them again. Early Age TC, whatever they’re called. If TC is claimed, then gosh, someone just pick a nation for me and I’ll give them a whirl. :)
Alright, I’ve tallied up all the people who have shown an interest. Right now its at 8, but I’m not opposed to having this be a larger game. If enough people sign up, we could even use the Glory of the Gods (multiplayer) map.
As for hosting, I’ve PM’ed Marcin and asked him. If he’s unable/unwilling, I’ll ask around the shrapnel forums. Worst comes to worst, we just might have to chance to PBEM.
Check back to the “announcement” post for updates.
If necessary, I can figure out how to host a game. My home computer is always on anyway.

Go for it! The more servers, the more games going!
IDAR, stick in the game please I created.
Marcin has said he has a new server he wants to try out, so we should be good. Anyways, I think I’ll try Ermor. Don’t worry, while this nation has some undead, its not the freespawning masses of Late Era.
Meanwhile, people start thinking about nations. I’m also still accepting more players, if they’re interested.

My suggestion would be score graphs off. I like the mystery. I also don’t like the “gang up on the leader” syndrome (not that I any chance of being the leader).
You can’t avoid people ganging up on the leader, but it’s waaaay more fun if the identity of the leader is a hotly debated issue. Diplomacy adds a ton of spice to a MP strategy game. I don’t really consider myself a sharp diplomat but I’ve noticed that all the games where I’m a contender in the late game are the ones where I’ve had one or more allies to work with to survive the early game.
Or where you’re the only water nation :)
You’ll survive to the late game just fine in Jeff no matter what you do diplomatically.
On the other hand, I’m learning that I ought to stick to my usual grand strategy of staying out of the early fights. I decided to try the “early aggressor” route for the first time, and it isn’t working out so well. Even without graphs, all the neighbors saw what was going on and jumped in. Now, Niefle has made a nice comeback all on his own (I was quite caught by surprise by just how many Niefle Jarls he has been able to field), and I have all the neighbors all riled up against me, too.
I’d rather give up my spot to a newer player, as mentioned, and seem to have already found my replacement; just stick Dave Perkins w/ TC in there instead. Don’t know if I’ll be able to create a pretender this weekend, so I might be slowing down the start of the game anyway.
To be fair, you were high up on my list of “who to attack once all the indies are gone.” So, staying out of a conflict entirely was probably not an option. Also, I was waiting for a few spells to make the offensive easier. Of course, this was dependent upon what TC, Van, et al. were up to.

That and our forum banter.

I had practiced this nation quite a bit in SP, and had the timing and blueprint for getting those Jarls out pretty well down. The gold and gem investment in them is enormous, but the results are well worth it, wouldn’t you say? And capturing Pan was a godsend for equiping Jarls with Messenger boots. Of course, your initial offensive caught me entirely off gaurd. You probably used twice the number of mages in that offense then I had total. I sort of expected we’d have to go to war sooner or later, but you somehow managed to smuggle what must have been 20+ mages into my territory. Had I not had a good source of nature gems, and had you managed to kill my pretender (you came close), then this battle would have been much, much more painful for me.
As for the alliances, in once case I had to promise somebody 50 virgins to get him to side with me (I won’t say who). I’ll just make certain they’re harvested from your lands. Who knows, maybe one of those virgins will be your pretender’s sister! Thats what you get for telling people they shouldn’t feel small when standing next to giants.
Oh that was totally me. I’m such a whore for blood slaves. Well that and some of the other stuff in our deal was good too.
