Just serving up one or two games is a pretty lightweight task. Dom3 server processes do not have a big resource footprint. Basically you could pick any of those systems and call it a dom3 server and still use it as you normally do. Just remember to never turn it off :)

Yeah, remember that most of the time the server is just sitting there. It only really cranks the CPU when everyone moves, so … usually once per day.

I’m running 2 (about to be 3) Dom servers and apache serving 4 (very low key) websites on a p3 700. It’s still perfectly usable as long as you’re not afraid of a command line :)

I freeking love MA Ermor. It’s been nerfed heavily in the balance mods people use on the Shrapnel forums.

There is a big difference between the freespawning undead of LA, and having to use precious mage/priest time to create undead in MA. Plus, that undead is still pretty much chaff.

Anyways, Wahoo asked to join as Ulm, so he’s in. As of yet I’ve only recieved three pretenders, so do hurry and give me yours. Eventually, I’m going to make a deadline, and at the point anyone who doesn’t give me their pretender gets excluded.

I’ll get my pretender out tonight. Need to put a little more thought into it (as if it’s really going to make any difference!)

Um no im not playing there as i didnt stand a chance on dry ground and nobody had a chance in the sea… i didnt made ai as i suspected it would unbalance the game…

One moment… we are speaking of the game where nick is playing lanka and was on the highway to victory? The game that i left what? two months ago? and you noticed it only now? Who wanted to sub a nation where its maritime pretender is drowning every time its called back… and where your units never stould a chance on ground because even the high end abominations that where gor spelled where thrashed pretty fast and your real mages are not able to enter dry ground because they are aquatic?

I assumed he was staling out of politeness to his remaining allies. The suffering is widespread and random when a big aquatic nation goes AI because he borders everyone and there’s no telling which direction the AI would lash out. If he went AI it would just stall the game while we all turned and grabbed ocean provinces to stifle the AI.

Maverni is now in retreat on all fronts. I won every single battle I had with them last turn, including beating their last large army just one province away from their capitol. The largish defense force in the capitol is now all they have I believe, and I’m moving to put that under siege. Soon Maverni will be down and then I can give you my full attention. It’s not fair for wahoo to have all the fun with my demonic armies without you getting a chance.

Darn it. That’s what I get for stalling again. Not sure how big my army was though. What was in it? I think the mummy guy and You killed the death/fire guy too I believe.

I was trying to counter-attack a bit. I can’t stay back and let you take everything. I have about 2 tricks left. But not much more than that unfortunately. TC needs to move fast against you if you’re to be stopped.

STUPID BATTLE AI!

How hard is to to cast the spells you’re scripted to cast! My brilliant thought out strategy now in shambles because STUPID artificial intelligence thought it knew better then me. Instead of watching Ermor’s army devour itself from within and pick up some undead troops in the process, I get some demiliches killing themselves and loosing their valuable equipment in the process.

Anyways, this combined with losses elsewhere, I’m ready to throw in the towel on this one. Even the computer apparently thinks I’m out of it.
