Ooh, ooh, can I join the new game? Is it full yet? I choose LA Erm- oh right. Maybe I’ll wait to see who’s chosen what before trying to pick a nation.

Update: OK, we have our players. If you are not currently in another game and want in on this one, I’ll open another slot, as there is room on the map. Other then that, I sort of like the elbow room bigger maps can provide. That way you’re not forced into a war the first few turns. Anyways, start thinking about Pretenders, as I’ll start collecting them AFTER the holidays.

Era: Late
Host: Marcin
Ermor?: No
Map: Glory of Gods (multiplayer)
Everything else: TBD

Players:

  1. Rollory - Patala
  2. Mind Elemental - Jomon
  3. Greatatlantic - Midgard
  4. Hetzer - Mictlan
  5. Adam Altman - Pangeae
  6. Dallan Invictus - Man
  7. Lazy Shiftless Bastard - Marignon
  8. Mercutio - Caelum
  9. GuildBoss - R’lyeh
  10. Dave Perkins - Agartha

Somebody should play Marignon. Late age Marignon is badass.

I’ve got another game in me! Lemme take a look at the manual before I pick a nation.

Or he can wait for fire mages taking pot shots at his eyes of god caster ;) sorry that i dont have any… so dont point in my direction…

I am interested in playing, but if someone who is currently in zero games wants to have my spot before the game starts, that is okay with me. Meanwhile, I’ll think of what nation I’d like to play, in case I’m in.

Ok. I’ll play LA Marignon.

Well, if anyone else wants to join, the map is more then big enough for 10+. So, I wouldn’t worry about it. Regardless, as soon as Adam gets his copy I’ll start asking for pretenders and preferences. I, as always, would like to bump the site frequency up. Oh, and charts.

Vampires, werewolves, undead plants, and fallen angels. Woo-hoo!

I’ll sign up for Agartha, then!

And samurai!

This game is starting to sound like a bad fanfic, and it hasn’t even started. :D

ETA - yikes, I’ll be playing in the same game as a veteran, Rollory. Time to find out just how much I learned from Hoplite…

I’ve never played Ryleh so, if there’s water on this map, I’ll go with Ryleh.

Well, it seems to help patrollers, and so should let me detect stealthed troops in my territory more easily. Since both you and Vanheim have stealth troops, I wanted to avoid a repeat of what happened to Niefelheim at the start of the war.

Anyone else having trouble accessing Jeff? I’ll send Nick a PM, but I get the “Can’t access server” error message. I’ve seen this before, and it actually seemed to resolve itself before Nick checked out the server, maybe.

Lanka game:

Zombie Maverni continues to live, which I can only hope is somewhat frustrating to Nick/Lanka. I was reduced to my capitol and a few other scattered provinces when I beat the main Lanka army and have retaken some provinces outside my capitol. The comeback continues (except for the fact that I’ve basically lost most of the other provinces except around my capitol). Nick is about to take his 5th or 6th capitol with a huge army)

I’m having a fun fighting guerrilla actions (like being chased by a lanka undead army through the oceans and countries formerly occupied by R’lyeh). Game is still well in hand for Nick although I’m guessing his big offensive vs Tien Chi is bogged down as he has to deal with me not dying. Sadly his pretender is back and cast gift of health for a ton of nature gems I’m guessing.

I haven’t looked at the latest turn yet, but your description sounds exactly like what I expected. I’ve fallen back around your capitol for the moment because your horde of spellcaster reduced my army to the point where a siege would be too lengthy. I need to fall back and recruit/summon. But I’ve left some Dakini thugs in the area and I’m having a blast with them. I do enjoy thugs with built in automatic blood vengeance and life drain. Makes them so hard to kill.

And yes, my pretender is back. Has been for a few turns actually. One nice side benefit of the undead reanimating strategy I’ve been pursuing as a sideline in this game is the huge amount of priests at my command. When my god died I just flipped them all to call god and that was that.

You are right thought that TC is getting a bit of a free ride. I’m opposing him but not half as strongly as I could be if you’d simply roll over and die! I’m just having to swallow losses over on the TC front and hope that what I gain from annexing Maverni makes up for it. So far it has in general, and it definitely will if I get another capitol, but the last few turns have been net negative for me since I’m about to lose tha Abysian capitol back to TC.

  1. I didn’t get a PM from you.

  2. The server says it’s rebooted three times in the last two hours, and I ain’t rebooting it so I’m assuming either power is flickering at my house or the server has a hardware problem. So apparently all my games are down until I can sort this out. Sorry guys.

Well, the nice thing about using the future tense is it doesn’t necessarily dictate WHEN you’re going to PM somebody. Just, at some point. Anyways, hope it gets worked out OK.

Sorry, I assumed you meant you’d send a PM pretty promptly after posting since you were, you know, on QT3 and obviously had a working keyboard and time to type since you’d just posted in this thread ;-)

Duders,

My copy arrived today! I installed and patched it up over lunch. The eighty pound manual sits before me. I’m sure no one will mind if I spend what’s left of the workday consuming it. <whistles innocently>

I’m heading to the padre’s next week for the festivities, Tuesday through Friday, so I won’t have access to my game for that period. Annoying, I know.

Now, I need to spend some time figuring out how the hell I’m going to last more than a dozen turns this game. How many veterans am I up against?
