Welcome to the dom3 mega-thread. I just need Serpent Cult’s Pretender and we’re good to go. Or rather the Pretender’s are good to go to Marcin.
Meanwhile in Mist Spell…
I think that battle outside my capitol qualifies as a pyrrhic victory, Cheese on yo’ Mama. Though for all your talk of Samurai, I found nothing but dirty, disgraceful goblin corpses. Regardless, the province is mine and now its a matter of who can replace their losses better. I got a feeling its me.
Edit: Oh, and last call for preferences.
Just whipped up a pretender and sent it off!

Perhaps those ermorian undead are faster replacing than my Bakemono Samurais but after all they are only undead… loosing several provinces and gaining one back isnt winning in attrition…

Mistspell: Ulm wants to play in the big fight! But we’re a ways away so we’re sad. Very sad and are forced to root for the grim reaper. Phrases like “pyrrhic victory” make us happy! Go mass casualties go.
Stealth nations have a rather bad disadvantage when it comes to diplomacy. How can you trust them? Other nations you feel happy when you see empty provinces on the border. With stealthers, you still wonder if there are about 100 screaming hopped up Tuaths about to attack you. And if there are another 100 already inside your borders in those weak little provinces. Me no like them.

Hey, I’m recruiting heavy cavalry as fast as I can! And crossbows, too! And building forts all over the place! See them popping up like mushrooms? See? See all that visible military buildup? Doesn’t that make you feel better?
…
hm, that may not be my best argument ever

You’re building crossbows! Crossbows are only useful for wacking large armored units like Ulm…wait a minute!
Doesn’t just apply to mist spell. In the multiplayer games I’m in, I simply HATE HATE having to deal with inviso troops.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep that in mind.
I’m pretty much out of room to expand at the moment, so I had to fight someone. Figured I might as well jump on the country about to get invaded by samurai demons.

Hai
and we easterners have to hold together anyway… death to the undead…
In the multiplayer games I’m in, I simply HATE HATE having to deal with neighbors who send me unsolicited gems and magic items.
I fully expect you two to play nice for the time being. Foreign wars are always bad for the economy.

Mist Spell is back on the 48 hour timer, sorry for the delay.
Inquisitor Files sent off. The rest is in Marcin’s hands and out of mine. Also, as per a couple of requests email addresses will be with held. Considering the players are MOSTLY regulars here at Qt3, I imagine PM’s will be a fine way to communicate.
All right, can’t wait to roll. Thanks, Marcin and Greatatlantic!

I’m going to need a sub in this game; i just don’t have time for anything anymore. probably my last Dom3 game for a long time.
Wahoo was saying he would go AI in a few turns if I pushed back his last ditch attack on me, which I suspect I will. So at that point it’s just you and me and we can just call the game if you don’t want to muck around with finding a sub.

Well, it’s a hard decision for me to make.
I have sort of a character flaw thing with “problems” that are tangental to my success. I like to procrastinate and put things off because there is always something else that needs attention and the problem in question is able be put off for awhile. I persevere in these sorts of games as a kind of litmus test at my progress in increasing my diligence and stamina.
But the problem is that i just don’t enjoy doing it. I don’t enjoy scripting a hundred mages, each with a supply of bodyguards, items, gems, each with 5x scripts, each perfectly positioned on the battlefield. It’s just too much. It’s retarded how much time it takes. And it pisses me off to no end when there are easily avoidable defeats that i lost because i “forgot” to take along a mage, or a script something, or move something.
Dom3 becomes less of a game and more of a personality test for me as it progresses. I hate admitting defeat when there is still a chance for success. I don’t mind resigning when i’ve lost. But, shit, i can’t keep up. I feel like i’m being “outmicro’ed” in some RTS game, except it’s over a matter of weeks. So i sort of shut down and stop playing completely, which is even worse than playing badly. But i’m the all in or all out sort of guy. Succeed spectacularly or fail spectacularly.
I have to go to a funeral. Give me until Tuesday as i won’t have 'net access until late Monday night.
I would recommend you find a sub or drop then man. If it ain’t fun, don’t do it. It’s a game after all!

Yoo, the dom 3 endgame isnt as much fun as the beginning and the middlegame… in the end its only a long waste of time to find out who has won the game… thats why i appreciate victory points, win half of them or so and be done…
No way, Dom3 isn’t fun until the endgame. All the stuff before that is just warmup. I like casting 10 spells a turn!
