I knew that turning and running was a crapshoot! Looks like I should have stayed on the fort and hoped the gate would crumble. :)

This war we’re having sure is a learning experience. You’ve played very well!

New Patch! Fixes the bug scales! Also loving for Ulm, which is good for me in Mist spell.

This means that the new game can start soon. BTW, what’s up with Nick not playing in any games right now? A shockign development.

Inquisitor

I’m going to be out of town for a few days. Emergency-type situation.

Inquisitor and MistSpell one week warning: the games will be down from the 15th to the 30th.

I don’t suppose you emailed Marcin? Regardless I’ll do so. I’ll also check out the new patch and see whats up with that this evening.

Neat combo by Jeff (Pan) in mistspell. Pan has the haunted forrest up where every person killed spawns a manikin undead plant. So Pan is casting a low of swarms which result in 20 flying weasels creatures that are extremely effective for 1 nature gem. If you’re fighting in Pan’s dominsion say you kill 10 of them…those 10 spawn 10 more undead plants. An incredible bargain for 1 nature gem and I’m not sure jeff planned it that way but it worked out well.

Only downside was there was a storm so the swarmers didn’t get to fly.

Wow, an army of 170 umbrals lead by lol the ageless olm just took over the sauromatian province next to me. Spooky looking.

Also, who is it that keeps dispelling my enchantment and spamming blight? Can’t you find some other hobby?

All hail lol, the big creepy-looking intestinal flatworm!

Oh, and check your math! The entire army is about 170 troops but it’s mostly chaff. In fact, your tricked-out Ice Devil looks far more spooky to me! :P

Are Umbrals chaff? The map screen just shows a giant blob of creepy black agarthan things. Does this mean Sauromatia is on the ropes?

Well, wahoo as Ulm has brought an army full of heavy magic users, Air Queens and other high level summons outfitted from his Forge of the Ancients and has destroyed my main army and will soon have Ermor’s home province and all of his old lands. My provinces will fall to him shortly after that if he chooses, although he can secure a VP victory (I think) by turning on Tien Chi.

Tien Chi advances on me as well and holds Shinumya’s capital.

I lost much in my fight against the Ermor, Ulm, Ryleh, Tien Chi alliance (and funded by Marignon?) and have little left to defend with.

Ah well, it was a fun game going against everbody. That was the first time that every other side in a game (except one) was allied against me.

Yep, that was the plan. Didn’t count on the storm, although I’m not sure that would have mattered. I don’t think I could have stopped you anyway.

3.15 takes care of the scale bug, so its time to get the show on the road. I need everyone to pick a Pretender and email me (qt3dominions@gmail.com) the pretender file. All players also need to pick out a nation. I’m giving everyone a week to email their pretenders or your spot is up for grabs. Thats Thursday, 3/13.

As for map, I found a fixed version of Paragonos that seems well suited for 7 players. Territory is a little unevenly distributed, and I don’t see any water nations being successful with it, but it will do. Don’t forget to let your preferences be known.

P.S. Another multiplayer game is opening up on the Shrapnel forums. The rules (regarding unavailability for turns) will be a lot less flexible, but if anyone is interested: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=586058&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 .

Edit: I’ve decided to play as Sauromatia instead of Kailasa. If anyone else wants the nation, they’re welcome to it.

Thank you for the link GreatAtlantic, I am thinking of joining that game as well. (no more than 2 Dom3 games for me)

Regarding our game - I have small suggestion. 5 VPs to win the game is a very good option IMHO. But perhaps we should clarify it by saying that these VP provinces have to be controlled for 3 turns to win the game. (to avoid possibility of gamey simultaneous commando attacks on enemy capitals)

Perhaps that’s what you meant in the first place, in which case please disregard my suggestion.

Sheesh, I don’t know if I want to play with people that need written rules to deter them from using loopholes to cheat and/or screw with other players’ ability to play the game. Like spamming someone with cheap magic items to fill their library so they can’t make their own stuff! How do people even come up with this crap?! sigh…

The list of ‘what not to do’ is for Velusion’s server, because he hosts so many games. That’s basically every beyond-the-pale trick that’s been thought of, tried, or hinted at in a multiplayer game of Dominions III; most multiplayer games don’t see anything like that. My experience with games from the Shrapnel forums has been pretty positive, and the worst thing I’ve encountered is an arguement with an erstwhile ally that turned into me getting dogpiled (and this was in one of the [I]huge/I] games, so I survived longer than I thought I was going to anyway.)

I use a much simpler system. If someone is a dick in one of my games they can get lost and never play on my server again. So far it’s a threat I’ve only had to make good on once. But then QT3 is a pretty good crowd.

Can’t seem to connect to Crom. Did it get updated or something?

I second what LeSquide said.

Well, maybe I’ll sign up but with 2 games going already… :O

Inquisitor and Mistspell have been patched to 315. Inquisitor is still timerless.
