Better luck with that blood god next time.

Pffft!

3 day warning: Mistspell and Inquisitor are going offline this Friday night for 2 weeks.

Your threat to come for me next gave me a good giggle, by the way.

Hmmmm, did i gave that warning to everyone? hey i didnt meant that i would come for you next but that jomon comes for you next…

A quick scan of my inbox shows a pretender from everyone except you. Please get that in ASAP, as the deadline is approaching.

Once I get that final pretender file, I’ll forward all the necessary information to Nick Walter, whose machine is hosting. Now Nick’s a busy guy and doing us a favor, so no telling when he’ll put everything together and we can start. But thats the timeline with out benchmarks.

On another note, if I don’t get that last pretender in by Midnight Thursday (or at least a promise thats its coming soon), another slot will be opening, because I want to get this stuff forwarded before the weekend.

Pretender file for Caelum has been sent.

Mistspell:

Ack. Centaurs popping up everywhere. Lost air queens, golems, lost artifacts. Ulm has gotten whupped the past 2 turns.

It is almost impossible to conduct an offensive operation against Pan right now. Immortal pretender in his own dominion + wrathful skies is just brutal. Pan is fighting a masterful job as I thought I had the upper hand for a bit. I made some horrible strategic/tactical mistakes and paid heavily for them.

Otoh, TC has made hay and has doubled in size with some impressive armies. It’s a pretty good 3 way fight with Pan/Ulm the heavyweights but TC moving up with gold/land/research/gems. Marignon is boxed and allied with Pan. R’lyeh isn’t playing but has the grace not to go AI which would hurt Pan.

Game has a ways to go with more twists/turns. Learned a ton in this game.

I just tallied the votes and here are the pertinent game settings.

Score Charts: On (3 to 2)
Sites: 50 (3 to 2 against 40)
VPs to win: 5 (4 to 1 against 4)

Like I said, there’s no way to set game rules to require VPs be held a set number of turns to win, though you do have to siege fortresses to get the VP. Everything else is the same as above. I’ll be forwarding the stuff to Nick shortly.

0 day warning for MistSpell and Inquisitor

Both will be down later tonight. Will return in roughly 2 weeks (I’ll post when they’re back up).

I’m going to miss Inquisitor while it’s away. :(

Crom (Agartha) - Down to the Final Four. TC and Nief are at war while Arco and I watch from the sidelines and try to pick sides, while waving at each other from our fortress ramparts across the river separating our two mighty nations…

Inquisitor (Pythium) - …?..

If by watch from the sidelines you mean invade in force. Don’t think I didn’t notice your 400 strong army sieging my fort.

I guess those crazy kids just couldn’t help themselves!

How does one go about reporting bugs to Illwinter?

The new spell “Hidden in Dust” costs 75 earth gems, for which you get one (1) glorified mound king with a fire aura, fire immunity, and no other abilities. No other troops with him. I rather think this is in error.

Did you cast it in a wasteland?

Ok, see, THIS is why game designers are the justified objects of nerdrage.

I cannot imagine a stupider feature to implement than something that causes such a monumental waste of resources unless you already know how the thing is supposed to work. At least with Nethack, the code is open source.

I seriously don’t know how to express my contempt for anybody who thinks a 75-gem spell with flowery flavor text that doesn’t explicitly say “Only works in wastelands” is a reasonable thing to implement in a game where competitive multiplayer is the primary mode of play.

Well, Dom3 is all about hiding information from you. I think that’s the idea behind their interface…

Yep. It’s a nuisance but there’s a ton of spells like that.
