Bah! I’ve ordered a “Surge” in those provinces to root out your stealth-preachers and bring them to justice (the noose!)
Good point GreatAtlantic, I haven’t noticed that.
Plus shorter distance between southern capitals means that one person can launch an effective blitz against another player and get control over his capital and his territory quickly, giving himself a big boost.
EDIT: Mictlan seems to be missing. Who is playing it?

I think this is the line up:
- Greatatlantic: Sauromatia
- Evil Steve: Abysia
- LSB: Helheim
- David Erickson : Caelum
- baruk : Fomoria
- Idar Thorvaldson: Ermor
- Hetzer: Mictlan
Hurry up Hetzer, 40 minutes till you miss the first turn.
edit: Can’t wait to see who gets the Shipwreckers (the other talking point I had in mind). Did anyone bid the full 400 gold for them? I figured they could be worth that much for some nations (depending on their start position).

Oh well im away one day from the boards and the game starts and im stalling on my first turn… congrats!
Thank you for the line up Boruk, it is helpful.
BTW HOF seems to be screwed up, at least according to my client. 2/3 of it is occupied by Arco’s(!) heroes. Is anybody else seeing this?

Hehe.
Yes, they worth their weight in mammoths.
I noticed that as well. I’m guessing it ran out of neutral units to heorize, or something. Regardless, I hope that as commanders start filling up the ranks of the HoF, this will go away.
Also, check out what happened to Abysia! Somebody played misfortune and it didn’t work out.
Yes, it sucks. Worse then missing 1st turn.
Oh well, at least they are still in control of their capital, so it could be worse… :)
hey, who, what, what the? hang on, what happened?
Well, let me put it this way:
Get a good drink before loging in Evil Steve. It may end up in tears… >;(
Eh, He exaggerates. Your income has plummeted. Maybe this was caused by a plague invent, at which point you should get drunk. Probably was just an unrest event though, at which point you’d only be set back a turn or two depending on how you handle it.
GreatAtlantic is right, I was just kidding. Sorry, couldn’t resist after I saw your reply. :)
mmm, a bit strange - my first misfortune was a very ill omen, 1 unit cursed for rest of life etc ie not income related. anyway, i’ve compounded it all by having my prophet arrowed to death in the first conflict. sigh. i will never overcome the curse, for that one unit was ME
;)
That actually is a bug of a sort, it was not originally intended that the spell should be castable at all outside of wastelands.
Oh no! My motley crew! They have been eaten by umbrals! Notably they were not eaten by magma children because they killed them all. Sadly my ice devil went with them. Not terribly important because ice devils seem to basically be Jarls, but demons (banishable) with worse starting equipment?
I was more impressed by my three giants who sat there clubbing cold immune umbrals and mechanical men for something like 20 turns before saying “Screw this.” and going home.
Whew. Well, I haven’t even looked yet but off’ing your ice devil makes me happy. I’m deliberately delaying my turn for Mr Perkins’ sake as he’s gone out of town for a couple days.
I’m dying to check in though! Things are going so well on the Arco front… he’s got 3 Air Queens decked out in unique gear that are nigh invincible…
wahoo

Crom:
Woe is Arco. The loss of the Limne shall be avenged agartha. Unlike the mighty Giants, my northern forces had no success against the umbrals. Commanders lost. Troops lost. Provinces lost. The northern ocean front has been decimated by Agartha.
Things are better in the south as the Air Queens and southern armies advance. The Agarthan southern invasion force pulled back when they faced our impregnable fortress backed by the glorious, radiance of Mellar the mighty!
…Does Crom need a timer pause with Dave Perkins gone?
Nope, we’re good! I’m back, with 5 hours to spare. I figured I’d stale a turn or two while gone so I wouldn’t hold the game up, but I didn’t stale any. Wee!
wahoo

At this point, holding of the game is much more preferable to stalling a turn and altering the structure of the game. I don’t think anyone would object, except maybe the giants!
Oh, I’m pretty sure I’m going to win, even if I stale a bit. ;)
This seemed like a safe turn to stale, to be serious for a moment. No big armies about to clash or anything. Not THIS turn, anyhow!
Crap, only a couple hours left till host! But I have to pick my daughter up at field hockey…and then cook…and then clean… AGH!
Seriously, this is how my day goes. My last turn was the quickest I’ve taken in this game so far and probably one of the most important. :( I’ve got about 15 minutes right now too and then I’m outta here for a bit… I’m slipping on my Boots of Quickness!
