I think I have milked my mobility advantage for all it worth and some more in this war. But once Fomoria has pulled together a decently sized army and has backed it with spells, even in significantly reduced strength as they are now, all my troops and mages and Eagle Kings and mammoths couldn’t do much about it.

Fomoria has made their stand at their capital. And their battle giants stood as tall black rocks protecting their homeland, against which the tidal wave of my birdmen has crashed and perished.

In this battle Fomoria has delivered a crushing defeat to my main army, scattering it to 4 winds without suffering much losses. 7 or so Eagle Kings have died, as well as most of my troops and mages.

Well fought Baruk.

With Fomoria back in control, Ermor advancing into my territory, and Suromatia preparing for a war against me, things are going to get tough for Caelum in the months to come.

Inquisitor timer has been suspended as Rollory’s having trouble connecting. He’s also out next week, and as I’m taking the weekend off, I’m just going to leave it timerless.

Mistspell is back on a 48hr timer.

Crom: Arco is still the front runner with all 3 countries teaming up against me. Luckily the Giants would have to blow through TC to get to me so it’s a zero sum from my pt of view. Stronger giants = weaker TC. As it is, I won a big fight vs TC 2 turns ago dispatching a big army and a fire king. The downside is that I’ve had to let Agartha surge back lifting the siege from Sauromatia and they’re swooping down from the north.

On the upside, I did finally rid my backfield of Agarthan units and took a key Agarthan fort. I still have most of the royallty and the most income. I’m also getting some dome protection spells up to block those spells that the Giants are throwing.

I like my chances but recognize that I can slip up b/c Agartha still has 1000+ units + thugs in the field against me. Giants are giants and have a crazy amt of thugs.

I hope my sub knows what he’s doing (or at least got all he’s going to get out of Fomoria). 'Cause switching from the winning to the loosing side strikes me as a loosing formula.

I just received my copy and finished reading the tutorial stuff. So I am just digging in. Is there a reference somewhere that gives me an idea of the different units available and nations in each era?

I only skimmed the rest of the manual but it looks like it mostly handles game mechanics, some basic fortress stuff for nations, and spells.

Crom:

TC is about wiped out. The Giants have invaded the remnants of TC as TC has had its interior blown apart by Arco. TC is down to its home citadel and a few other provcines. They’re still wiping out Arco leaders but the handwriting doesn’t look good for them. On the other front, Agartha is about to lose its last fort south of Sauromatia’s old capitol. Arco is now moving to counter Agartha with solid success all but wiping out Agartha’s western army.

So all that’s left is the giant horder barrelling through. It’s a commander heavy army. Arco went 1/3 in attacking remote giant provinces.

Mistspell: Pan continues march to victory. Still playing on after the ermor capital disaster but have to try something new. Now Pan has one of my old air queens in my gear crushing me. oh well.

Whoa, man! You’re marching on me, taking my provinces. You’ve unleashed Tartarians. Why would you say I’m marching to victory? I just don’t see it.

I don’t know if Tien and Marignon have spies around, but if they did, they’d see alot of blue around Ermor pushing north.
