Yes, it was a well fought battle Sauromatia. Although I would consider it to be closer to a draw - my air Queen and half of my army for your pretender and half of yours. Also one should keep in mind that your troops cost quite a bit more than mine - your hydras vs my mammoths, and your sacred cavalry vs my archers. But your troops did carry a day and you have also killed few of my Eagle Kings, despite me throwing every last bit of reserves that I had in my capital (and a kitchen sink) at you. Well done.

However this is a history now, and the new reality is upon us.

To Sauromatia and Mictlan: I believe you have worn out your welcome in the lands of Caelum Empire. Consider two battles this turn to be your eviction notes. Since there were no survivors on your side to charge with delivering it to your leaders, we have sent our own messengers.

What a totally awesome battle between my main army and Arcoscephale’s. It probably would’ve gone better for me if my god hadn’t gotten paralyzed and done nothing for the ENTIRE BATTLE (aaaargh!), but while I lot half my giants and all my undead chaff to meteors I killed the entire body of Arco’s army and a couple of his commanders. Of course he had around 30 commanders and his god, so eating 5 or 6 of them doesn’t put much of a dent in his mage population.

It was beautiful when even with relief up my giants got stuck in and froze a quarter of his army to death while slowly clubbing the rest. I think a tear came to my eye when his Monster in the Maze armed with The Summit axe, Boots of Quickness, and a Lucky Coin shield got frozen.

I didn’t mean to claim victory–just excitement that I’ve finally beaten an army that contained an Air Queen (two, in fact!). Your counter-attack, with a single Air Queen and ten Eagle Kings, was owwie. I killed only one of your commanders–not sure which one, as I didn’t have the patience to watch the entire battle yet. I’m guessing I need some anti-lightning technology before I face your mages again, eh what?

Yes, that would help. Or you could use communion, since you have access to dirt-cheap astral mages, and kill my air mages 1 by one with Soul Slays, while being protected from lighting by one of communion masters casting “resist lighting” or “resist element” spells.

(assuming you would have time to prepare, which I do not intend to give you )

Ok, here is the state of events in the Caelum Empire:

The Ermor is pretty much finished. Their do not have any provinces left, their remaining 2 castles are being besieged and they do not have strength anymore to break any of these sieges.

My strategy up until now was to concentrate most of my resources on knocking Ermor out of the war while repelling attacks of other members of anti-Caelum alliance. This strategy has payed off well, and now I am in position where I can turn my entire force against my western enemies.

Meanwhile the joint offence of Mictlan and Sauromatia have been beaten back, their main armies destroyed, and my counteroffence has been gaining speed over the last two turns. It penetrated deep into Mictlan’s territory. Against Sauromatia it is going slower, since they have more reserves available, but it is advancing nevertheless.

As of last turn, my nation controlls more than half of the map, and about 2/3 of combined gem income of all remaining nations. I have 3 Air Queen, 2 Water Queens, about 20 well eqiuped Eagle King thugs, powerful pretender, most of the unique artifacts, and I am currently preparing to launch Tartarian factory. I also have blood income that is verly likely to be comparable to Mictlan’s, although I have not been using it much up until now.

I think at this point it is quite clear what will be the final outcome of this game. Threfore we would like to offer to all remaining nations a honorable surrender. You have fought well and bravely. And I would prefer to avoid time-consumming mopping-up operation when the game’s outcome no longer in question.

What shall you say?

Nuts.

Hmm? Care to elaborate?

You have joined the war (and the game) relatively recently, so perhaps you do not have the complete picture. Your losses also have been smaller so far than those of your allies, while you certainly have more resources. However that does not change the overall picture.

Talk to your allies, check the graphs, send scouts to the south. My offer is genuine.

General Anthony McAuliffe.

Yes, I know the story. But considering the situation, I think the quote “Merde!” by Carbonne would be more appropriate…

Fomoria is not yet finished.

If you are as strong as you say, then you should be able to take several capitals in short order. Perhaps it will take only 10-12 turns.

Ha… well countered, sir!

I agree with baruk’s reply.

I was surprised that I lost…I brought in a ton of mage support and used the astral travel through the labs to sneak in a huge army that had just won a fight vs. Agartha. But I made 2 key mistakes: Thought I was fighting in TC’s dominion and didn’t take adequate prep vs your cold power. That crushed me! and losing the Maze monster was painful as he should have been able to kill a giant every other turn or so.

OTOH, Despite losing the army, you lost more commanders and a bunch of giants that you can’t replace. It’s much easier for me to replace my army and mages than it is for you. I consider it a bit of a Pyhrric victory for you, especially since I’m gobbling up your backfield with my amphib invasion and the flying unit invasion!

TC is being stubborn about dying so I’m gonna try to help them along quickly and then there will be just 2.

Rude.

Summary of the three games I’m in:

Crom (Tien Chi)
wahoo’s winning (Arco)
state of my nation: wounded and desperate
hope: slim to none

[B]Inquisitor /B
Mind Elemental’s winning (Jomon)
state of my nation: strong but far from the action
hope: slim unless Rollory (Patala) has a trick up his sleeve

[B]Morningstar /B
David Erickson’s winning (Caelum)
state of my nation: indignant
hope: slim unless Evil Steve (Abysia) turns on Caelum

Hm! If you’re a good enough illusionist to make Abysia look like Agartha to the rest of us, I’d say you’re underestimating your chances.

hope: slim unless Rollory (Patala) has a trick up his sleeve

I’m farther from the action than anyone. The only thing I can do is long range magical stuff, and now that both my gem-producing globals are gone I can’t even do that.

Details are not my strong suit in Dominions! I didn’t even notice that your globals were dispelled. I wish there was an all-player notification for that.

3 new nations, crazy tartarians, some other stuff.

Neat stuff (and making me feel better about not building towards the regular Tartarian Mill/Holy Grail strategy), but when is Inquisitor going to patch?

Mist Spell

Ulm and Ryleh, please take your turns.

Should we put the game back on the 48 timer after all turns are in? It’s dragging a bit now, I think.

Thought I better release a statement on this turn’s events before Caelum’s spin machine gets hold of it.

This turn, I took 10 lightly defended provinces from Caelum, using Fomorian King supercombatants.

Caelum lost no more than about 100 gold worth of troops, Fomoria lost 2 Kings (including the prophet, Daigh), along with about 50 gems worth of items, after they ran into Queens of Elemental Water in a couple of provinces.

I think you have lost 1 Fomorian King, if I remember correctly. The other one retreated after a long 1 vs 1 battle in which he gave my Water Queen 4 affliction and blindness, didn’t he?

Nice sneak attack. I’ve been expecting it for some time, but its scale was larger than anticipated. I need to do something about it - I do not wish to lose 10 provinces per turn.

To our host - are we planning to switch to new patch this turn by any chance? (my other MP Dom3 has already switched, so I had to upgrade to 3.17)

I was wondering that myself, and I am the host :)

I think I’ll patch both Crom and MorningStar tomorrow.
