I’d like to join, since I just got knocked out of Morningstar; put me down for Vanheim.

Pax Ermor - I’ll go with Marignon, please.

Pax Ermor - can i be in on the the in?

Thats 12 now. Still accepting “stand-by’s”.

Damn, I completely missed the signup window for Pax Ermor. Well, put me in as a standby.

Sure, if you’ll attack Caelum in Morningstar sometime soon. :)

seems like an age…i just didn’t diplo enough, and certainly should have sued for a quick peace with agartha after my one and only triumph with the old full frontal, cut-off the rear tactic.

in morningstar on the other hand, i’ve diplo’d meself into a corner of inaction…BUT HOW LONG CAN IT LAST MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA cough, sorry, now where was I? Ah yes, “It was the best of times and the worst of time…”…mmm…good start…

are we still getting email notification for morningstar? - feel like a long time since the last one…

I’ve had reports it’s flaky, but I haven’t seen anything odd looking.

EDIT: Nvm, mail was all clogged up. I plungered it out. Hope nobody got spammed with duplicated emails.

The basics, yes. The details, no.

I appreciate the complexity, but not having a digital distribution model essentially means I won’t be buying it.

This statement is far, far beyond the bounds of any kind of sense whatsoever.

It’s also completely unrelated to the question of whether one understands the game from the demo or not. What is the DD difference? Getting it within an hour as opposed to getting it within a week? Why is that delay and that delay ALONE a suitable justification for not purchasing the game? Essentially what you’re saying here is that if you can’t have immediate gratification you can’t imagine it being at all worth getting. Just what sort of game do you think this is?

I got seven notifications today, all the sudden, and seem to have staled yet another turn. I’m not complaining, but am simply venting that staling 2 of the last 3 turns is not helping me fight against Caelum. Argh!

I don’t know if you have been playing the same game I did, but there isn’t really anything overly complex about Dom 3. I get the nuances, because I spent most of my time experimenting with different aspects of the game as opposed to finishing every single iteration.

Also, about DD… I can’t accept packages at work, and I can’t accept packages at home due to theft issues by other tenants in my building (2 stolen so far. I learned my lesson). Not to mention I am never there to sign for them and there are no deliveries on weekends. I could request it be left at the depot, but I have to somehow hitch a ride for 30 miles to get there, get the game, and hitch back.

So please, before you start accusing me of being disingenous, at least consider that my circumstances are different enough from your own that it IS a big deal for me.

Regardless of that, however, I find their distribution model outdated, revenue-limiting and inconvenient.

Can you concisely explain how to set up a tartarian factory or a blood farming operation? How about the pros and cons of a clamming strategy? Quick, name the best three monsters to employ gift of reason on. Now name a nation or two in which national summons can play a central role in an effective late game strategy.

Not trying to pick on you mate, but the game has some crazy complex subtleties when played competitively ;-)

My answers are:
No, no
No
I can’t
I can’t

Look, I’m not trashing your game here. It would not take me long to map out specific strategies once I’d read about them once. They are all just extended implementations of the mechanics, all of which are easily picked up in a dozen sessions with the demo.

I’m not claiming to have experience in specific MP strategies. But the game itself, it’s mechanics and concepts are all very simple. The kind of things that would be indicated in a manual are already known to me. I have a feeling that ‘clamming’ and ‘blood farming operations’ aren’t explained in the manual and come only with experience.

Anyway, still not getting the game unless it falls in my lap, or a DD outlet picks it up. :)

I’m with you. Might I covertly suggest a Perkins alliance in the next game…

Oh well perhaps I misunderstood then. I thought you were claiming you could master the game after a bit of messing with the demo. You were claiming you can understand at least what was in the manual after messing with the demo?

Okay, name the magic path enhancing items and the requirements for each. Also, explain the sequence of turn resolutions. That’s info from the manual that is pretty dang handy to know :)

Deep and complex turn based fantasy strategy with a richly detailed mythological setting.

Bonus sentence: If you ever wanted to watch your your hordes of ice giants trample wizards throwing fireballs at you, this game will give you an erection you need to see your doctor about four hours later.

There isn’t anything out there right now that’s as close to Master of Magic.
