Yeah, that battle was a bummer. I should take your capital more seriously. I should use my archers rather than leaving them behind and relying on my SCs. Well fought, my congratulations.
But on the overall scale of things it does not really change anything. I have stalled last two turns, but nevertheless during this turn I have returned all I have lost plus more. Plus I finally have my tartarian factory up and running - it was getting increasingly harder to fight all these tough end-game SCs, elemental royalty and tartarians used by my opponents with my good old Eagle Kings. Now I have a cost-efficeint way of leveraging my large lead in gem income over my opposition. All my enemies will start feeling the pain of it beginng next turn, and it’s going to get exponentially worse in the turns to come.
About Abyssia - actually they have been figthing me for the last two turns, but this turn I have started to fight back. So don’t worry about allying with me against Abyssia - they are on your side. ;) At this point it is me against everybody else. Nevertheless it is too late for that - I am certain that the outcome of the game have been determined at least 5 turns ago, if not earlier. I will try not to stall any more turns and I’ll do my best to finish this game off in the turns to come (or at least bring it to the point when my esteemed opponents will be ready to surrender, as I have offered them earlier. (I strongly dislike “mopping up” Dom3 endgames, that’s the reason I have proposed the surrender in the first place, and that offer is standing)
yes, i az attacked caelum.
disclaimer: message only meant to jazz things up and is no personal reflection on Caelum or, indeed, Mr Erikson. besides, i’m so far behind, it’s unlikely i’ll do much

Well, this is why QM thinks the Construction tree is the most important in the game; in the land of Dueling SCs, the best kitted out is King. The highest level items not only reproduce many powerful, hard to get spells, but also for the unique items cannot be used by your opponent if you get them first (without Wish spamming), like some of the unique monster summons.
If you take the need for SCs as an assumption in Dominions, than kitting them out properly is one of the most important things you can do. Having the Forge of the Ancients, Dwarven Hammer, ect., are all very important in this regard (and one of the best reasons to use a Rainbow).
At least, you know, in theory (but theories are treacherous things…). I’ve never, in the 4 years i’ve played the series, … um… ever cast Forge of the Ancients. Even in single player. /Gasp! But i assume it works as described!

Mist Spell
The game has been off the timer for a while now. That’s Ok, as people needed the time.
But does anyone still need the game off the 48h timer or is it Ok to put the game back on the timer? Turns are starting to take a while now.
But I possess the Chalice, not you! Won’t you be cranking out dozens of feeble-minded ne’er-do-wells?
There’s more than one way to heal a tartarian.
Chalice is handy.
Gift of Health global is nice too.
If all else fails, I think just having healers set to heal in the province might do it.
Doesn’t the recent patch give them insanity though? That’s not cureable.
Actually, Tartarians are undead, meaning they cannot be healed by healers. Gift of Health will work, but unlike the chalice it can be dispelled.
As for new Tartarian insanity, I read it was only set at 25%, meaning Tartarians have been given an added gimp, but compared to the sheer number of them that can be summoned and their stats still make them the end game strategy of choice for most nations.
I think the additional chance to have a Tartarian stuck somewhere useless (and possibly doing something bad there) will mean that there might be a greater shift towards using more reliable (if more costly) summons and some of the odder nationals.
Mind Elemental gets by very well on Elemental Royalty, it would seem.
…And I do so hate him for it.

Actually, if it can remain offtimer for a bit longer. I’m going on vacation next week and will be gone from saturday to sunday. But after that we should reset the timer to 48 hours if that’s ok.

Would people be in favour of changing Morning Star’s hosting to every 96 hours?
I noticed there have been a few stales lately, and since we’re in the late game it seems reasonable people will need longer for their turns.
I was sure the game was on a 96h timer already, which is why I staled last turn. Heh! Anyhow, my apologies. And I’m game for a 96h timer if the rest of you are. I suppose David E. is the main person to hear from!
Though Marcin never got in touch with me, Kraaze (why did he change his name?) has volunteered to host. I’m still working on the map, but I hope to post it publically today or Friday. So, be thinking about nation picks and Pretender design. Unfortunately, his schedule won’t allow the game to get started until the second week of July. However, I’m going to want pretender files and emails before that, but I’m not quite ready to start collecting that information yet. Still, be thinking about it.
I have been, and it’s been fun; I even have a PLAN for this game! I even have a little document that CONTAINS my plan. Things like,
Research Evocation 3 for Mistform
LOOK OUT!
Off the top of my head, isn’t mistform in Alteration?
This is why I have a document.
Well, I’m slow and you guys already took all of the cool nations, so I’m going to go with Abysia. And pray for heated pools.
and a reminder that I AM MAN
