It works perfectly now - thank you!

Happy house-hunting!

I was going to stall tonight unless you take your turn. I’m pretty sure I can win but TC and Marignon have been having some epic fights. Seen hundreds of their troops going back and forth so they may have some stuff there.

This game has taught me the most about Dom so far from hitting A to make sure all your commanders attack to vicious combos.

I’ll keep playing if others want.

Anyone un.rar this map yet who wouldn’t mind posting it or emailing it as a .zip? Or, GA, would you mind zipping it?

I’m still curious to see where the game goes and what I can do in it, but if people are done, I understand.

I honestly don’t know how TC and I (Ma) are going to fair in the long run or if the winner of our side war will be able to compete with the winner of the big one…

So, lets keep playing, if people want to. If not, lets not. :)

Like MacArther, I have returned.

MistSpell

Ok, let’s keep playing and see how it goes :)

Game on.

Capitals of Fomoria and Sauromatia are once again under siege by the relentless armies of Caelum Empire. With any luck one or both will fall to my troops on their next storm.

Funny, I’ve stalled 2 turns, but I am now in a better position than before - apparently my troops have managed to defeat Sauromatias counter attack while being on auto-pilot. :) I was planning to cast GOH this turn, but now there is no need for it - apparently I have won Chalice in some battle with Sauromatia. My tartarians and diseased commanders will be thankful.

Now all I need to do is not to stall next 3 turns, and that should take care of this game. Too bad I have code-freeze deadline at work on August 1st, but hopefully I will find enough time to make my turns.

Pax and Inquisitor.

I’ll play my turns tonight.

Sigh. We can turn OFF The timers for Pax and Mistspell!

Mistspell:

BTW, I finally guessed right against Pan/JeffD, which is going to bring the Pan resistance to a short close. I feel a bit bad about winning b/c Jeff has played this game the best. His only mistake was becoming a superpower so fast that everyone else but Marignon ganged up on him. I think I’ll win in a large part thanks to the assistance of Ermor(Great Atlantic) who I tried to help prop up vs Pan as long as possible. The only other thing is that Jeff took some tough scales and Misfortune 3 hurts. He’s lost a ton of provinces to barbarians and he’s had a hard time retaking them in the latter stages of the game. He’s probably killed me at 10-1 ratio but that’s not high enough given Ulm’s resources and how much cheaper my troops are compared to the White Centaurs.

Was there a huge fight in Shin’s capitol? I see 700+ TC troops but not sure if Marignon had his large force there.

We hereby announce our (quite friendly) regulation 197.43/b/j:

All shall refer to the world by its full and proper appellation: Pax Ermor.
The friendly Ermorian Empire intends to live up to that name, and bring an era of peace and prosperity into the world. Regulation 197.43/b/j shall remain in effect so long as we remain in the game - probably a good three weeks.

Ermor
The Friendly Empire

If Jeff loses this game, it’s because of your diplomacy and wrangling behind the scenes. You had every convinced that Pan already had the game and if we didn’t do something yesterday, he’d walk away with it. I believe I’m the only one who didn’t bite into that line… :)

I’m not saying that’s bad, I’m just saying, lets not skip that everyone ganged up on him because you are quite the convincer of men.

In a game comprised of competent experienced players the win or loss is determined almost solely by diplomacy. Frankly, MP Dominions is just a game of Diplomacy with a lot more finicky details. That’s why I love playing against the people who obsess over the minutae. Their focus is in the wrong spot and they have a nicely exploitable weakness.

Oh, and don’t trust wahoo, he’s a slippery devil.

I wasn’t in that game, but from reading Matt’s post it sure sounds as if it really was necessary for everyone to gang up on Pan. Now the trick for the “gang” is to know when to refocus on the new “obvious winner” before it is too late.

Well it wasn’t just me, you’ll see Ermor was decrying the Pan menace too. I think at his zenith, Pan had almost half the map with Ermor and Shin’s capitol. At that point, anyone who could see the map could see what was happening which is why TC and R’lyeh to a lesser extent helped vs. Pan.

I didn’t do much diplomacy this game other than helping the Ermor resistance and begging for some help vs Pan (which had limited success). What helped was that Marignon and TC got involved in a huge war which let me concentrate all my resources on Pan.

Where did this come from? About 20 pages you back, you were bemoaning the fact that you hated betraying me and stabbing me in the back, b/c I was such an upfront, trustworthy ally to you!

Your change in tone hurts my feelings!

I didn’t say you were a bad ally, I said you were a slippery devil who shouldn’t be trusted diplomatically. Big difference :)

I’m back; timers can be turned on/not off, depending on the game.

I staled the last turn, but I don’t think so. My force seems to be intact, and I see large Marignon forces elsewhere.

Anyway, are we keeping this game going or not? I suppose Marignon and I could put up a semblance of a fight if we made peace.

Pax Ermor has never had timers yet. I generally give a new game a few turns to make sure nobody is going to hit a technical problem before I consider timers.

Great Atlantic will have to let me know what timers he wants and when I should put them on I suppose.
