While I’m back, I’d suggest we wait for the timer till post-Labor day. I"m guessing a few other folks might have big plans to close out summer!

R’lyeh tried to gain a land foothold in Ermorian territory. Being the Friendly Empire, we politely suggested that they gain land elsewhere. When that didn’t work, we kicked their alien butts back into the sea. With a friendly smile and a “Thank you very much for visiting our Friendly Shores”.

Meanwhile, a graph update: it looks like Vanheim is headed first out the door. Hard to guess to who’s benefit, as most nations still appear to be expanding. I’d bet 100gp that Van was stuck in one of the overly crowded spots. This “ring” map makes for some potentially interesting dynamics, but the starting spots were very unfairly distributed. Our condolences to those stuck with a neighbor 2 provinces away and only very limited expansion possibilities.

The shores where so friendly that we will visit them more often and on several spots, if anyone want to take the holidays in friendly ermorian country youre welcome (i think)…

The Emerald Empire today announces Mission Dobb Enforcement. We will be placing sizable army contingents on border province to patrol and make sure illegal entry into the Empire does not occur. You have been warned. Any attempt to launch a stealth invasion force into Pythium will be treated as an act of aggression, whether its attacking or not.

so, yeah. After a talk with UMac over IRC, I tried the demo out, did the tutorial, and the whole thing seems very interesting. Unfortunately, it also seems like it’d be a full time job to get really into it at this point. Any resources you guys can recommend for reading a bit more about the game, how it progresses, etc? I went to the main forum, but the strate index doesn’t seem to have anything digestible by noobs. Or is it that the manual that comes with the full version is sooo awesome that newbies just get right into it?
